its fine to be a non-sharing yume. I am one. and i am one due to mental health issues.

the correct way to be a non-sharing yume is to just block doubles.

the incorrect way is to harass doubles. these doubles do not need to know you exist. they dont need to know they’re a double of your yume. the more you message and continue to talk about doubles, the harder its going to get to you.

i understand how it feels to see a character you love so deeply loved by somebody else in the same way. by creating a whole show of harassment, pity posts, sending hate, you’re just digging yourself deeper into that hole, further cementing these thought patterns.

please. other non-sharing yumes, block and move on. it’s best for you and for literally everyone else.

the more you allow aggressive and despairing feelings to roam after seeing doubles, the harder it’ll be to break free from that.

get comfortable with being upset when you see doubles, and not doing anything with it, besides blocking. evaluating how much time you want to spend thinking about doubles (hint: if it causing you great distress, it might be time to step back) or how much youre letting someone have space, rent-free, in your head over a fictional character.

if a double sends you spiraling, join a smaller group of just friends. or distance yourself until you feel you can better handle seeing doubles. prioritize your mental health over how valid or ‘canon’ or how much attention your ship(s) get.

FOR YOU. step back and evaluate whether self shipping is a good coping strategy for you or not.

why do we always have to double down on "omg no guys it's okay selfshipping is just a hobby, I literally have a job and a normal life!" when trolls come at us? why do we need a justification for it to be okay? some selfshippers don't have jobs - some are disabled. some are incapable of work for other reasons (that don't concern anyone). does that make them any less worthy of selfshipping? just because they can't contribute to society in the same way? idk idk maybe I'm just babbling incoherent nonsense.
