I think a lot about that Fruits Basket story where the onigiri (rice ball) thinks its plain and bad with nothing special about it

but everyone else actually admires it because of the delicious plum on its back that it can’t see

anyway, I’m going on a second date with a girl soon and couldn’t help but think “Why would she want to keep going out with me?? I’m like, so weird and a little crazy.”

but then I remembered that there is also a plum on my back that I can’t see and that people often like others for reasons we don’t recognize in ourselves. Be kind to yourself. There’s always something good about someone– however little we remember it.

idk who needs to hear this but having native headcanons for characters like equius is anti-native. because the only reason yall headcanon him as native is because he has long hair and hes big and strong and stupid. you’re literally giving in to “noble savage” stereotypes.

consider having native headcanons for characters that dont “act native.” ive always liked polynesian gamzee and indigenous australian feferi. what about a native auntie kanaya that beads regalia for her friends? what about indigenous texan strilondes that are reconnecting with their culture? what about native captors that live in the city and have no contact with their rez?

please dont limit yourself to one native character and then base that character off of stereotypes. we are not a monolith of big stupid brutes, or free spirits that live among nature. we are as diverse as any other group and we deserve better representation.
