there's something so incredibly sweet about how many times davrin notes in his journal that talking to rook helped him with something. he keeps bringing them out to touch grass and gaze at nugs out in the woods with him which I think must be very good for them, and their company clearly helps him work through and get more clarity on things he's been stuck on emotionally. it's just kind of lovely and a great little nuance in that relationship.

Davrin’s romance personally struck me because he and Rook are very clearly friends first and foremost. They’re so comfortable and familiar. They rib and poke fun , get on each other’s nerves, flirt in the most overt way, all the while acting like they’re not in a committed relationship for half the game. You just know they have thousands of ridiculous inside jokes that no one else understands. Everything about their relationship is sweet and playful.

Yes even the sex scene that some people call one of the spiciest in the game. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there are certainly multiple ways to interpret media based on one’s own life experience.

I just saw two besties who also happen to be in love finding a way to have fun and make each other feel better before they try to stop the world from ending.

So do we agree that Rook absolutely gives Davrin hand kisses? You know, after all the fights and whittling, when they’re alone. Or when they casually approach him in between tasks. Maybe right before going off on a mission, regardless whether he is joining them this time or not. A quick and casual touch like it’s the easiest thing in the world. And it is.

Personally, I think at some point Davrin makes Rook a tiny wooden keepsake of something that's dear and personal to them, maybe something that ties to their origin or faction or something else that they hold dear. And then he asks one of the mages on the team to enchant it because wood is easily destroyed. And maybe if you walk in on Rook on a good day you can catch them tucking it under their uniform or pulling at the chain it's attached to (custom addition). And maybe Davrin knows that it's this important to them but they wouldn't outright admit it because he won't let them see another day with all the teasing. But also it feels warm to know they handle a little wooden trinket like a treasure.

They wake up together and just stay in bed and relax and talk quietly about their future together now that the weight of the world isn't on their shoulders. They stay like that and just exist in each other's presences.

Have we discussed the idea that, after everything is over, Rook is less than ok, so Davrin holds them and just hums to them until they fall asleep like that? Because I have not stopped thinking about it.
