Today’s history fact: the first recorded contact between humans and Mobians occurred when the kingdom of Soleanna, at the time Egyntiria, successfully fought off an invasion by the Nocturnus Clan of echidna Mobians. This incident, unfortunately, colored many future interactions between humans and Mobians, causing much strife that to this day has not quite settled. War, it turns out, does little to help dissuade bigotry.

Today’s history fact regards Chaos Energy, and more specifically, how it interacts with humans. It’s relatively common knowledge that Chaos Energy is an omnipresent energy field in the universe, and that Mobians typically have abnormally high concentrations of it that can often manifest as supernatural abilities.
However, it’s less commonly known that, while a much rarer phenomenon, humans can also be born with unusually high concentrations of Chaos Energy that can manifest as abilities. Unlike in Mobians, where Chaos abilities are often hyper-specific in nature, humans with high Chaos Energy levels are able to apply their abilities in a more broad-spectrum manner. These rare cases are where the ideas of magic and sorcery come from, as well as their practitioners.
Historically, very few individuals can be definitively proven to have actually possessed these abilities, with many cases of individuals either lying about their powers in life or having them falsely attributed to them after death muddying the waters. Among the number of actually provable cases, however, rank such exceptional individuals as Ozymandias, one of Soleanna’s earliest kings, back when the civilization was called Egyntiria.

Good morning. Today’s history fact is inspired by a bit of an ongoing misadventure on my part - I’d like to briefly touch on the historicity of Arthurian Legend. While it’s a very contentious topic among some historians, there is reasonably plausible evidence to suggest that the figure of King Arthur and his fabled kingdom of Camelot were both derived from real counterparts.
Arthur himself is likely a composite figure of several ancient Soleannan kings, with various deeds attributed to him in the tales vaguely paralleling real-world conflicts and developments described in surviving texts located even now in the Soleanna’s Grand Library. There’s enough difference and coincidence involved to dissuade many experts from definitively establishing a link, but it’s there if you care to look.
Camelot itself is bit harder to pin down; the name comes from the Old Solenlic “Cæmél Ot”, which literally means “perfect city”. However, one theory posits that Camelot’s descriptions are based on the city of Soleanna itself, which is actually the second city to be Soleanna’s capital, and at the time of its founding and construction might have been seen as the start of a new “golden era”, hence the descriptor of “perfect city”. Overtime, this would have morphed through folklore into a city all its own, gradually drifting away from accuracy to its real-world origin as Soleanna inevitably failed to live up to the perfect expectations set for it. These tales would have been all the more important during the fall of the old capitol, during which time Soleanna would have transitioned into its current role as the second capitol and namesake of our society and its flaws would have become all the more apparent.
Of course, all this speculation could be a complete waste of time, and the actual answer could be that it’s all real and located in a pocket dimension one can fall into upon opening a book given to them by their friend without elaboration. But that would be silly, of course.

Apologies for the gap in history fact posts, there was a mishap with the library’s internet and it went out over the weekend. Everything is in order again, and the next fact will be along shortly.
[[Admin note: this isn’t a joke, my building’s WiFi literally was down all weekend 💀]]

Today’s history fact: Solenglish, one of the most commonly spoken languages on Earth, originates here in Soleanna, if the name did not make it obvious. The name ‘Solenglish’, interestingly enough, actually came about as a mistake - the original name for the language was ‘Solenlic’. However, traders from Spagonia wrote the language as ‘Solenglish’ in their trade documentation. Because trade was the primary way by which information was disseminated for thousands of years, and Spagonia was a trade and cultural hub for a significant portion of the planet, ‘Solenglish’ eventually overtook ‘Solenlic’ as the common name for the language. Nowadays, ‘Solenlic’ is the archaic spelling, only really used for certain official court and legal documentation here in Soleanna.

I’ve been debating whether to even respond to this since I saw it last night, but I’ve decided it would be bad etiquette to just ignore it.
I’ve absolutely no idea what sort of reaction you were trying to get from me with this, but here is your acknowledgement, I suppose. Congratulations, you’ve confused a god.
I can already tell this platform is going to be… fun.

Good morning. After trying to figure out what exactly I’m going to do with this account beyond answering questions, I’ve decided that once every couple of days, I’ll post an interesting historical fact I’ve recently come across (whether for the first time or via rereading something). Hopefully, someone on here will find them as enjoyable to learn as I do.
Here is the first fact: the Kingdom of Soleanna is one of the oldest known human civilizations on Earth, with the earliest definitive proof of organized settlement on the island dating to roughly 7,780 BCE. This also makes it the oldest contiguous point of human settlement, with very few severe civilizational disruptions, at least that we know of.
Of course, I do have to reiterate this is only by the standards for human civilization. Mobian history is a much more complicated matter, and not quite as well documented or understood, but I do believe there is at least some evidence for Mobian civilization arising earlier than 8,000 BCE. There are also the Gaia Temples and the Altar of Emerald, who no one knows the origins of, at least with any level of certainty, but clearly point to an even more ancient, long-extinct civilization.
Hm. That ended up being longer than I’d intended. Apologies. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the miniature history lesson.

Well, I see we’re off to an excellent start with questions. I’m not even sure how to answer this one. I like them insomuch as they are useful for cleaning, I suppose.

Greetings, members of the internet. At the behest of Princess Elise, I have made a social media account for myself to “broaden my horizons”, as she put it.
While I’m not entirely sure what exactly she meant by that, I’ve decided this is an excellent opportunity to help educate those who are interested on the history and culture of Soleanna. As Royal Archivist and an avid historian, I’ll be happy to answer any questions regarding the nation and its past.
Oh, yes. I should also mention that I’m the god of time, and the moon. My name is Lunos. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.
[Admin note: Welcome to yet another one of my RP blogs! Meet Lunos, my Mephiles kinsona and the central character of my Guiding Moonlight AU. In this world, Mephiles was the result of Solaris sacrificing himself to seal away a prematurely awakened Gaia, and the leftover energy from both coalesced into Mephiles. He’s since had a redemption arc, and is now Lunos, Soleanna god of the moon and time! More details can and will be revealed as needed and asked about! As always, feel free to ask anything as long as it’s SFW and feasibly answerable, and have fun! Art is by @atlas-hope, one of my best friends!]
