I love it when a basic reasonable character trait gets quickly exaggerated to the point the character in question ends up looking utterly unhinged.
Like BBC Father Brown going from "Bunty Windermere is fairly competent with a gun" to "Bunty Windermere, a 25 year old aristocratic woman, is better with a gun than literally any member of the local police force, literally all of whom, at this period of time, were literally in the army" to "Bunty Windermere can correctly identify exactly where a gun was fired from just by the angle of the bullet hole, after one single brief look at said bullet hole. She can just Do That".

I love the fact that… Sullivan knew about the play, right? He knew where to find Jeremy Sandford, and he didn’t seem surprised to see Mrs Devine or Goodfellow there. He was probably already aware of Mrs D’s involvement with the Kembleford Players, and Goodfellow may have asked for extra time off for rehearsals. And even if he didn’t know which play it was beforehand, he would have found out then, before Jeremy Sandford was murdered.
And then he just happened to casually drop a quote from the same play in Mrs Devine’s presence later? No way. That was absolutely a deliberate attempt to impress her.
I’m sure he’s genuinely a Shakespeare fan. It’s very him, and I love that for him. But that’s not all that was going on there.

It's literally now canon that Brenda sits between Mrs Devine and her date, WITH AN ORANGE JUICE.

why is the new series of father brown getting way more hate?? are we all watching the same thing? i absolutely adore brenda and ms devine, they bring so much to my favourite show. i will admit that at first, it was a shock not to have ms m, bunty or sid, but as the episodes grew, brenda and ms devine have fitted in comfortably and it’s felt like they’ve always been here.

Good to see that resolution lasted less than an episode.

It says a lot that Valentine had a proper handover, but Sullivan and Mallory were both so eager to leave Kembleford, they didn't even wait for their replacements to arrive.
