I'm reading a lot of Merlin scar reveal fanfics rn and it got me thinking;

I always felt it unrealistic that characters (in this case Merlin) would have thousands of scars in areas where they can hide them easily, but NONE in like their face or on their hands.

So imagine, Merlin who has Arthur (and perhaps people he's known since he came to Camelot) convinced that he's clumsy, so even the most intimidating scars across his face and hands seem silly to them.

But then he starts meeting new people (Gwaine for example) and their first impressions must all have been like "holy fucking shit that man has to be a soldier or something"

Only when they talk to him ANYTIME HE HAS A NEW INJURY (Merlin is used to having people believe the bumbling fool act) and he's like oh yea I'm just soo clumsy haha

Idk maybe Gwaine starts believing that Merlin is an illegal underground fighter or something
