Audrey turned at the sound of the bells, seeing a masked figure approach her.  Her eyes flicked down to the flame thrower, then back at the blank-face of the mask,  Her gut was telling her to flee, but she forced her legs still.  She had to act natural and wait for the enemy to pass her by.
Act natural, or you're going to be burnt alive.
She turned her back once again.  The footsteps approached.  Suddenly, the feeling of the Pryo's arms wrapped around her from behind.  There were words, but she couldn't comprehend them.
The facade was over.  The spy couldn't keep her cool any longer.  She wrenched herself free, firing a single shot from the enormous revolver she wielded.    The moment she pulled the trigger, her disguise kit - a Mann Co. piece of crap - short circuited.  Tendrils of red smoke dissipated from her body, revealing her true identity.
Hopefully, the soothing sound of gentle bells chiming would be a welcoming juxtaposition compared to the aforementioned bestial examples. Not that the newcomer would receive that, disguised as who she was. The bells weren’t terribly cacophonous, but they were an unwarranted shock for anyone not prepared to have arms thrown around their sides.
She had been looking forward to following behind them, for once, instead of trailing off to tease Dale. Unfortunate that the one offense on the BLU side chose to play the defensive game.
Perhaps it was moreso unfortunate that the Pyro began chattering in the belief that her medic would understand.

No sooner she arrived at base, the first day of battles were upon them.  No time to get settled in.  No time to familiarise herself with the landscape.  She wasn't worried.  From her brief conversations with her fellow REDs, one thing was clear - she outsmarted everyone on this field.  Brutes with explosions.  She even caught glimpse of a kid wielding a baseball bat with nails like a cave dweller.
She split away from the team, fumbling with her disguise kid - picking one of the BLU medics at random.  Hopefully, she would find her way behind the front lines.

"Oh it's a complicated story ," she started, "but to sum it up I was close with a lot of important people, and found myself in debt."  It was the only truth her coworkers would ever know.  She internally chasised herself.  It was her truth now.  Those thoughts would result in her slipping up.  She couldn't get careless.
"I'm sure your story is similar.  Money?"
"I’m a Demoman, but I don’t think my looks should effect my performance. In short terms I blow the enemies up." he said a bit short with her. Who the hell she think she was?
Walking around like a stick up her ass and the queen of suprmemes. “How’d a pretty lady get a spy job?”

Be raised a gloved finger to her chin.  "It's sufficient."  Although she knew she was yet to meet her other RED comrades.  That rating may not last long.
"What... exactly is it you do around here.  Excuse me, but you look far more suited for a modern rock band than warfare."
"Nice to meet ya."
She was cold in his mind but lord was she pretty. Still he had to be a gentlemen with her. “So, you like it here?”

The woman remained long silent to get over her shock.  The relief she had for her stationing began to make way for regret.
Did they all look like this?!
Heavens, she'd made a horrible mistake.
"Audrey," he replied simply with a flat tone.

The spy sets her trunk down inside the small bedroom.  She was surprised to find It was tolerable. Perhaps expecting the worst actually worked out for the best.
Despite the administrator's cold welcome, she was glad to finally be stationed at a permanent location.

Hidden by the dark lenses of her glasses, Audrey's eyes narrowed in suspicion.  In one hand, he seemed civil, and remarkably well dressed - both of which were so scarce in the industries.  On the other, she understood too well how important information is to a spy.  What seemed like an innocent question may have ulterior motives.
"I suspect for the same reason as you," she replied with a smile and polite laugh.  "I just need some fresh air.  Get away from the noise of the base for a while."  She removed a small lighter from her breast pocket, lit the flame and held it in the darkness between them.  "Need a hand with our cigarette," she added playfully after a moment.
A Lovely Lady Took A Stroll
To say the lady was comely would have been a grotesque understatement to her natural beauty and be it against him to miss the opportunity to admire a gem of nature. In his blatant failed attempt to light a cigarette behind a hand he paused when the woman—spy perhaps, or maybe another class outside of uniform?—came into his peripheral.
Mack however was a man of manners and took the ‘look, but don’t touch’ policy to heart, be it physically or verbally. He denied any comments passage to his lips as he was quick to remove the unlit cigarette from his lips and hat in the lady’s presence. “Good evening to you, Ma’am. Might I be bold enough to inquire why you’re out for a late stroll?”

"Oh."  Audrey replied quickly, not even attempting to hide her annoyance, as she turned away a moment to return her cigarette to its case.  It seemed she was about to leave, but she turned back to look the woman up and down through her dark shades.  The Soldier had an unusual stutter -  a few too many times headshot, perhaps.  But she seemed... normal.  Might as well make some idle chatter to get her mind off the cravings.
"Sorry, did I scare you?  Awfully jumpy for a soldier, aren't you?" the spy added with a laugh.
Sheila was propped up against the wall, hands laced in front of her pelvis as she stared off into the distance. Not that she was dwelling on any particular thought - the Soldier merely stood and let her mind sink into that small pocket of silence.
Until the voice caused her to jump, jolting her out of her daze.
   ”A-ah,” Sheila began as the RED grew closer. “I-I’m afraid I d-don’t, sorry. N-not a s-smoker.”

Audrey slid her cigarette into its long black holder and held it between her her lips.  Automatically, she reached into her breast pocket for her lighter.  She rummaged around, her gut brewing angrily when she found her pocket completely empty.  Getting even more agitated, she quickly checked her other pockets - but she already knew it was futile.  She only ever kept her lighter in that one pocket.
Grumbling to herself, her eyes met with another mercenary across the battlefield.  A BLU... although they were off hours, surely the administration wouldn't mind in an emergency such as this.
"Excuse me," she cooed sweetly, trying to mask her anger.  "You wouldn't happen to have a light, would you?"

"Audrey Moreau," the spy replied.  It was the first time she'd used that name, but she liked the feel of it.
She sighed, taking another drag of her cigarette before continuing.  "To be honest, I cannot even imagine what it must be like... to live in a place like this for seven... or more years!  The food is awful, the coffee is cheap and there is little for entertainment.  But I am here for a reason, and hopefully my stay here won't be long."

"My word!  Seven years?! I'll be sure to come see you if I have any questions," the spy shot a smile to the other woman.  She paused, to take a long drag from her cigarette - then exhaled.  The white smoke hung around her in curling tendrils - but quickly dissipated into the room.  "But I am glad to hear that women are more common than they once used to be.  It would be dreadfully boring otherwise."
"May I have the pleasure of your name?"

"Excuse me," she started with a faint laugh, lowering her sunglasses to reveal her cold blue eyes.  "I have not been at this job very long," while speaking she reached into her breast pocket and retrieved a long black cigarette holder.  She slid a cigarette inside, cupping her hand over the flame as she lit it.
"I expected the hallways to be filled with the sound of gunfire and men dying.  Not music.  So naturally I was curious to find who was behind it.  And a woman as well - we are uncommon in this industry, no?"

Audrey was pushed into music as a child.  At her mother's urging, she practiced the violin every day, went to recitals, and studied it well into her teenage years.  However, it never gave her any pleasure.  It was merely her fulfilling her mother's dream.  As soon as she was old enough to gain a degree of freedom, the violin was stored under her bed and never used again.
As such, it wasn't an appreciation of the music that drew her.  After the years of forced play, the sound of a violin still brought a bitter resentment in her gut.  What drew her was curiousity.  She never expected to hear music in a place like this.
"Not really," she replied honestly even if a little blunt.  "I'm far more curious about you, than your art."

It’s been a while since she played her violin. A mental note that she would use it more in the future. Though she was lost in the music, the sound of the footsteps were louder so she was forced to stop it and turned around.
"Came for this, laddy?"
