My boyfriend is triggered by Christmas and Christmas music. We were in a restaurant, and Christmas music was playing, and he started panicking so he went outside for a cigarette. The manager of the restaurant overheard him saying he had to get out, and changed the music over for the rest of the time we were there. There are safe spaces in the real world. People are nicer than you think. And bullshit people who try to tell you to get over your triggers, ain’t shit.

So I’m on a trip with my robotics team and there’s only two “girls” (me, an enby, and a cis girl), so we get our own beds in our own room, but the guys are rooming four to a room, but there’s only two beds in each room. Which means that two guys are sleeping on the floor every night.

I’m not joking. They were literally arguing over who’s sleeping on the floor tonight (apparently they plan on rotating).

And I asked them “why don’t you just share a bed?” And they all gave me the same answer:

“No, that’s weird! That’d be gay!”

And I just looked at them and I decided to break the bad news to them

“If lying next to another guy makes you wanna suck dick, you already wanted to suck dick.”

I’ve never seen so many Straight Guys™️ enraged by a single sentence before

You are always welcome. Even if you feel differently later on. You are always welcome in the community. We have all been there at one point or another; forging our own identity through self-discovery. Everyday is a learning process, or so I think.

Just remember sexuality is incredibly complicated. For some, sure, it comes easy, but for others it can take a lifetime. My best advice is take your time figuring out what feels right for you. I think so. I just get nervous and have been thinking about it a lot. I just wanted to say that what matters is that you are kind, you love people, and the ones that matter in your life love you back. There will always be unkind people who will somehow find satisfaction in putting you down for whatever reason. But in the end that’s their personal issue. You on the other hand know that you will be happy with the friends and loved ones you choose to keep and who choose to stay by you. And really, they’re all you need to concern yourself with. Be happy. You deserve that a lot more.
