For anyone who hasn't read this yet, please please please do! It is absolutely amazing. The characters are so deep and wonderful and alive. You really get the sense that these are full-bodied people, and you just know that Cherry has poured her whole heart into them. The story is bursting with passion and want and drama and grief and everything else you could want from a historical novel. It's immense, too. Cherry has expanded this out into such a wonderfully juicy novel that will take you a hot second to get through, and you'll love it every step of the way. One of my favourite things about this story is the research that went into the setting. The house, the time period, the fashion, the food, the whole load of 1800s English law that was read for the plot. It's really truly impressive. THE MARZIPAN PIGS — You guys need to look them up. They are adorable and a reference you'll only get if you make it near to the end 🤭 Anyway, enough of my rambling! Please go give this so much love and leave lots of lovely comments for Cherry. Probably a hiatus?

For the last month and a half, I haven't been very well at all due to a number of reasons. I've not managed to sit down with my laptop and write for a long while. So I'm taking it easy on myself and not worrying about writing and updating TMW until I've figured out why I'm so ill all the time and I have the energy again. Not worrying about my story and posting has been very beneficial for my mental health, so I'm hoping when I do return, I'll be in a much better place to as well. Love you all and thank you for being so supportive about my story, I'll make sure to have a few chapters ready to post when I return. For now, feel free to reach out! So-called Lover’s Eye jewelry was fashionable between 1780s and 1830s both in England, on the Continent and in America. This fashion seems to have been initiated by the Prince of Wales (the future George IV), who sent a miniature of his own eye to his lover, Mrs. Mary Fitzherbert. Such miniatures were mounted as rings, pendants or brooches and were worn by the beloved. Associated with purity and tears, pearls are frequently set into the frame of this kind of jewelry and might have added a commemorative aspect to the jewelry, to remember a deceased loved one.
