Anthology of the Killer feels queer in a very odd way. It never really discusses queerness, outside of heart of the killer which talks a lot about romance and (in my mind) implies BB to be aromantic. But it feels queer in the paranoid way. In the scared way. It feels queer in how BB’s aunt and uncle talk about eating her. It feels queer in the way that people want to hunt and kill you for no apparent reason. It feels queer in the way that your friends are limited, how even those who seem friendly might be out to get you. It feels queer in the way that authority figures fixate on you and have this violent desire over you for the sole purpose of making them feel strong and keeping you down. It feels queer in the scared, paranoid, and anxious way.
