I like venting or expressing my thoughts on tumblr. It’s like shouting into a void. Anyway, I do like when an OC comes easy to me but when it’s too easy it feels they fall flat. 

I feel that I am out of tales and can’t try to build toward trying new things. Like I don’t think a character has to be sassy, a tomboy, or “not the average girl” to be interesting. It would just be nice if her tale, could give her inner conflict. I feel I would want to explore more if it felt like there was more tales. It feels like there is absolutely nothing.

Going “I was a gifted kid and it ruined me” is just like a fat uncle saying “I could have gone pro” and investing more time into that fantasy than his own crumbling (yet totally salvageable) life… but for nerds.

Why do you think Daring's beast arc was a cop-out?

Mainly, he took the wrong lesson from the experience. Daring’s greatest flaw was never that he was selfish. Yes, he has an ego to block out the Sun, but he’s still a hero dedicated to glorious battles and saving damsels. What he had to grow out of was his views on his destiny. Similar to Apple, Daring started out blind to life outside the bubble of legacy. Whereas Apple was cowardly, Daring was plain in his own world where he’s set to float through life. What he needed to learn was he can’t have that, and that there is more to Daring than Prince Charming. Rather like Apple and Raven in WtW, I feel his character was tweaked to help the story along, and that’s never a thing to do.

Here’s how I would have done it: Yes, Daring would be revealed as not Apple’s prince and has the subsequent identity crisis. Then he transforms into a beast because the real destiny he was born with is to be THE Beast. Bam! Destiny is not as reliable as perceived. He sees the world from a new perspective throughout the special, and after learning how to change back to human form, decides to try out living not as future Beast or Hero, but simply as himself. On side notes, his Beast form would have looked more like a lion, and he wouldn’t have hooked up with Rosabella. She gave off a motherly vibe, not a love interest vibe.
