Optimally, when do you think that Chloe’s redemption should have taken place. Also, after Chloe learns to improve herself who would you think would make a good antagonist for Marinette. Chloe gave Marinette’s opportunities to stand up for herself and Mari “fights” Chloe by being more daring and bold. So who could be an appropriate antagonist for newly brave Marinette? An improved version of Lila? Or sth else? What do you think makes sense for the character?

Ideally, Chloe’s redemption should’ve been kicked off in Despair Bear. She’s forced into being “nice” to people for the sake of her friendship with Adrien, which is a believable way to make Chloe force herself to change. If the episode had ended with her finding some value in being nice (Hey, people like being around me, or hey, I get a weird satisfaction from being nicer) then her redemption would be started.

What Marinette needs isn’t some weird antagonistic force in her everyday life, but an actual connection to the main villain. Mayura (or whatever the Stronger Person is going to be) needs to be related to Marinette - maybe literally, like a Chinese Grandmother, or figuratively, like a mentor in her life. She needs to have stakes in the main plot beyond He’s Bad and I’m Good.

Marinette has enough working against her in her normal life. Bring up her absences. Bring up her lack of sleep. Bring up her being a superhero effecting her regular life. You don’t need a Mean Girl causing friction, there’s enough already there for Marinette.

But if they really need someone, Lila would work if they just made Lila smarter so they didn’t need to make the rest of the cast dumber. Lila should be a master of video editing and photoshop to make her lies believable, instead of everybody conveniently not remembering which ear Lila’s “deaf” in.
