interest check: wolf 359 relisten club!

hi all! myself, @kazoofiasco and @airshipvalentine have been craving a wolf 359 relisten (since its ten-year anniversary was in august!) and wondered if folks would be interested in a chill community listen-along, book club style. no formal gathering place, just a tag and a schedule of 2 or 3 episodes a week so that folks can post and engage with each other, whether relistening or listening for the first time! if there’s interest, further updates and a tentative october start date will be @wolf359radioclub :)

8.15.2024: Happy [ Ten Years of Wolf 359!! ] 💫📻

In celebration, @avesmonster and I have spent this year organizing an anthology of fanworks, and I'm so happy to finally be able to share it. It's such a labor of love from everyone involved, and it's incredible to see how passionate people still are about this show. the thing they dont tell you about listening to the adventure zone for the first time is that you'll miss them for the rest of your life. taako magnus and merle will be held in your heart wherever you go. when you binge it and get caught up to the eleventh hour in 2016 and you're a sophomore in high school shoving your sweatshirt sleeve in your mouth to stop yourself from laughing you have no idea that you'll be coming up on christmas 2022 and it's been six years and a goblin that looks like common and sounds like kelsey grammer will still make you laugh. you hear "are you naming your god damn wizard taako?" and that's it for you. you're in for life.

Think I've said this before but in my ideal visualization all the protagonists in Wolf 359 look like shit. They haven't had real soap in years. They're getting gray streaks. After the mutiny Eiffel and Minkowski are getting run ragged and despite being stuck in solitary Hilbert is still somehow perfectly in control of his outfit and situation until Lovelace arrives. SI5 show up sleek as their spaceship but s4 Jacobi gets increasingly disheveled. It's clear when Kepler finally decides to betray Cutter because his uniform is just slightly awry. Hera could make her humansona look like anything but it's messy and lived-in. Meanwhile Cutter and Pryce and Rachel are perfectly put together. They've never heard of gray hairs. Do you understand my vision.

wolf 359 is a show that poses many important questions such as “how much training do you REALLY need to go to space,” “is it still a war crime if you’re light-years away from the nearest living soul,” “how many times can you send one guy into the limitless void before he gets pissed enough to kill you about it,” “what if the ship of Theseus was a person,” “how many different ways can you kill someone without them dying,” and of course, “would that be fucked up or what”
