Taking a pet whumpee's collar off temporarily as a reward, only when they're in whumper's lap and only while whumper is running their hands all over whumpee's now exposed neck, trying to "massage" it and "make whumpee feel good."

A day late, but... it's always Halloween in my heart, anyway... non-human whump prompts, in honor of spooky season! Not particularly organized, but hopefully something here will resonate with some of you <3

Whatever weakness your vampire whumpee has, use it against them. Silver? Silver chains, forcing them to wear silver jewellery/a silver collar, etc. Sun? Leave them out in the sun, or lock them in a room with a small window... watch them panic as the light slowly approaches... all good stuff!

Vampire whumpee deprived of blood. Just. That.

Vampire whumper who stalks whumpee, including breaking into their home (climbing in through the window is a classic).

Whumpee getting hunted for sport by a pack of werewolves

Nonhuman whumpee captured by scientist whumpers who want to understand how they work (y'all knew I'd add some lab whump haha)

Human doctor caretaker who doesn't know how to take care of nonhuman whumpee (but is trying their hardest anyway)

The sheer whump potential of a mad scientist reanimating the dead. Are they a whumper doing this for evil? Or maybe they're just trying to bring bring back a loved one... maybe it'll work, or maybe not...

trope i really like is self-loathing characters desperate for the catharsis of punishment for frankly rather selfish reasons who r also obsessed with repeatedly pressing others into hating them and hurting them as essentially a method of self harm. yes baby continue making it worse for urself and everybody around u instead of doing an actually productive and effective journey of improvement and redemption

Now we have been away from our city and our beautiful home for 9 months. We have lost our house that my father built stone by stone and he worked 24/7 to build this house. But the occupation destroyed it, and no house remained in my beautiful city remained intact.😭💔💔

We are now living in a tent or semi-tent, which does not protect us from the cold of winter or the rain. Our lives are very difficult.😔😭

Thanks to your donations, we have been able to buy food and flour, and now I am asking you for help to buy a tent that will protect us from the cold of winter. We do not know what it means to sleep because of the extreme cold.🥶

I absolutely love when a character is trying to hide injuries or just how sore they are by moving around like normal. They’ve perfected walking without wincing, ignoring the pain as they sit down or stand up, maybe even running.

But then as soon as they’re out of sight, the second they make it home and the door closes behind them, they just collapse to the floor in tears.

🖤 Whumpee Looking…Not Okay 🖤

There’s a distinctive moment at which Caretaker realizes something is wrong. Maybe something gives it away. Like…

Staring at nothing.

A nervous habit, like tapping a finger or biting a nail.

Breathing too fast.

Not breathing.

Talking just a little bit too loudly.

Not talking, all day.

Refusing food.

Visibly tired. Eye bags.

Dead eyes.

Eyes slightly widening at the sight of a trigger.

That very small shudder.

Gripping things. Chairs. Railings. Sinks.

Going suddenly pale.

Excusing themself to be alone.

“You’ve been quiet all day. Please talk to me.”

A tear escaping despite their best efforts.

The moment of realization. The way Caretaker’s heart just drops.

“Please… I’m so tired.”

“Then sleep. I’ll stand guard.”

“I thought you said it was safe here?”

“It is. But you don’t feel safe, do you?”

“…not yet.”

“Then I’ll stand guard, till you can.”

the best part of a whump fic, to me, is the moment that caretaker realizes that something is wrong with a whumpee who was trying to hide it/fight through it. after hours or even days of not understanding why whumpee has been acting so strangely, it finally clicks. whatever emotions were there before--confusion, irritation, etc.--are immediately and completely replaced by intense concern. THAT'S the peak for me. where the magic happens. you can literally never go wrong with that moment.

Whumpees who APOLOGIZE

it hits especially hard when they're the authority figure, caregiver or oldest sibling. it tells you so much about the dynamic. it hurts them so much that they're incapacitated. they want to be able to be there for their friends/family but they can't. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm so sorry"

bonus if it's mid-panic/anxiety attack. they just saw or heard something that set them off and things happened so fast they can hardly breathe and they're backing away from their team while frantically apologizing through gasping breaths

and the others have no idea what to DO

ooooh pair this with "they all went through the same trauma but whumpee is particularly affected and not healing as fast as the others, so they naturally assume that they're a big baby who's crying over spilled milk." their friends/family understand more than whumpee knows, but it takes a good heart to heart with caregiver to really convince them that what they're experiencing is normal and it's okay to heal on their own timeline.

whumpee who, for whatever reason, keeps dying & won't stay dead.

why are they dying? how are they dying? how many times have they died? is it the same kind of death each time or is it different each time? how many times have they died?

are they dying due to some cruel twist of fate or is it because of a whumper?

why do they keep coming back? is it due to magic? is it because whumpee has unfinished business in the living world? are they choosing to come back, or is someone else forcing them to come back to life? for what purpose?

how do their previous deaths affect them in their current iteration? do they experience phantom pains? do they have scars? have they lost functionality of certain parts of their body? if they're undead (or have just died so many times that the distinction between living & dead is irrelevant), how does the deterioration of their body factor in to their situation?

and, of course: is there a way for them to break the cycle they're trapped in? and, if not, how many deaths will it take before they break?

dad whumpees with daughters fucking slay actually.

Dad whumpee technically adopting his daughter, but more accurately, she adopts him.

whumpee who will take a bullet for his daughter (even if they wouldn’t admit it before)

found family!!!

basically any dads who will go to hell and back for their daughters.

young daughter ends up having to take care of dad whumpee while he’s sick or injured; angst ensues.

sorry if this sounds insane but I just love it when dads get whumped for their daughters

Defiant Whumpee with the ability to see the future is stuck in captivity. They see their future self broken and conditioned without any fight left in them. No matter what they choose, they will always end up as Whumper's pet. The question is just when and what will do the trick.
