After watching back the op on ep 8 I noticed some changes. Now you can clearly see the person on the glass of champagne and it’s Daisuke’s father and right after that I am guessing it is Daisuke as a child (the image is not super clear). It is at 0:31 on the video

How to get depressed
It is the first time that my fridays evening are so depressing. Between Egao no daika and Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka the chance to laugh are very low.
I didn’t have any expectation for Egao no daika. But now I really want to see how Yuki hime will evolve and how everything will end. I really hope that the ending of this anime will satisfying and not some lame rush ending.
I liked how the main character Asuka is depicted as someone with PTSD in Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka. It is the first time I saw something like this in an anime. Shit happens but characters are no doing as if everything is okay after that. I really appreciate it. I am looking forward on how this show will be develop.

Skip Beat Extra chapter
I am just re-reading Skip beat once again in the light of the special chapter. Tsuruga-san sent two invitations to an amusement park to Kyoko. Nakamura sensei said that she was not able to fit this story to the main one and now I can see it is true. I was reading chapter 240 and what Yashiro said to Kyoko make perfect sense now.
He gave his White day gift one month later because he was waiting for Ren to give his gift first. When he asked to Ren on the 14th of March if he had a gift ready Ren said no. Maybe as it was a letter sent to Kyoko as long as she had not received it yet he wasn’t considering his gift as complete.
Later on Yashiro asked again to Ren and he probably explained to him what he had done because Yashiro is saying “I only found out the other day that I can finally give my return gift.” Thinking that she had received Ren’s gift Yashiro is trying to explain to Kyoko that she is special to Ren. But as she has still didn’t receive it there is a misunderstanding and she is thinking that she is not special to him and she should not hope for one in the first place.
In order for Kyoko to believe Kimiko Nakamura-san had to create this misunderstanding. And it can explaine why dispite what anyone will say to her during this arc she will still believe that the special person to Ren is Kimiko.
I just hope that after receiving her gift she will see as special she is to Ren. I can’t wait for the next chapter.

Tsurune Kazemai Koukou Kyuudoubou
I feel emotional, today was the last episode of Tsurune. I reaaallly appreciate this anime. I think it is the first time for me to rewatch each episode of an anime right after I just finished watching it.
If you never heard of Tsurune it is a sport/slice of life anime. If you want something going fast it will not happen in this anime. If you want an anime where the character are evolving you are at the right place. The choice of the color, the “shooting” of the scene are quite nice.
I can’t wait for the OVA.
The last episode is quite beautiful especially when Minato is thinking about each of his teammate. Following the last scene of the episode I want back to watch the first one. The person young Minato is watching is most certanly Masa-san’s Grandpa.

Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko !
I find out the manga Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko. To be fair it was always on the homepage of the manga website. But the resume was so common that I didn’t feel like reading it. A couple weeks ago I gave a try and I just loved it. I was reading Hanamatsuri at the same time (another manga I would talk about later) but I felt the need to put it in pause just to keep reading Tomo-chan.
Let me give you an idea of this manga. As I said the story is quite common. It is a girl named Tomo who love her childhood best friend, Junichirou (Jun for short). He doesn’t see her as a girl (or does he?). Until very recently he didn’t even acknowledge the fact that she was a girl. With this situation how Tomo-chan can make him fall in love with her.
You can say that all the character are stereotypes:
Tomo-chan is a tomboy, very kind with her loves one and fierce to protect them. In sport she is always with the boys team and they can’t keep with her.
Her best girl friend Misuzu is her complete opposite. Not good at sport but excellent in her study, she looks like the perfect japanese girl, calm and compose. However this appearance hide a quite scary girl. She is always scheming.
Jun, the main boy and the love interest. At first sight he looks like any sport loving boy. He doesn’t want to lose to Tomo. Misuzu and him are always fighting for Tomo and Jun despite is good look is not a womanizer. He is not at ease with girls. He also got good scores at school.
The fourth and last one of the main character is Carol. She is English born but raised in Japan. She is good looking also but very “blunt” I would say. She follows her ideas, will tell to people to fuck off even if it will backfire and she will not win the fight. She is also good at study but bad at sport. Behind her airhead attitude she is quite the observer and perspicacious.
Gradually you will get a fondness for the character. The humor is also pleasant. In other thing is the fact that one of the character is plotting something and you want to know what will happen at the end. It is more or less the thread in the story.
The manga is a 4koma style with a publication rhythm of one page per day.

I had to say it :
My feelings on Darling in the Franxx !!!!!!
The last episode of Darling in the Franxx (ep 14) left me with mix feeling. I think that, at the end of the day, I really don’t appreciate Ichigo. She is the squad leader but she is not doing her job correctly when it comes to Hiro. I can understand that she wants to protect him but at the same time she is not listening to him to what he wants. All the thing she is doing is for her own benefit at end (maybe not the best word).
Baring Zero Two from talking to him. Fair enough ! But not letting Hiro talked to her is a dirty move. She doesn’t know what is going on between them. If Hiro needs to talk to Zero Two she should let him talk to her. She just wants to be with him, she doesn’t really care about Hiro wishes. I think it’s one of the thing who bother me the most during this episode. She is thinking about herself (what she wants) and not about Hiro (or even the squad for this matter). This and the fact that the misunderstanding between Hiro and Zero Twois still there. I feel really bad for Zero Two. I also feel bad that, at the end, Hiro was not able to apologise to Mitsuru. I hope that one day Mitsuru will know the truth about their promise.
Can’t wait for the next episode. Frankly I wasn’t hoping a lot for this serie but so far I really like it.

Copenhagen
I had four days to kill during the Pentecost week-end. So I jumped in a plane and I went to Copenhagen. I heard that it was a beautiful city though a little expensive.
I have always been attract by country like Danemark or Sweden. I am from a sunny island so I guess it is because it is quite exotic for me.
After two hours and half of flight I arrive at Copenhagen. I should say that th way through the airport was quite long.
The first I made was buying this little card call Copenhagen card.
Even if I think I did not use it as much as I should this card is very useful. In fact it grants a free entrance in almost all the museums, boat tour or public transport in the city. You can choose how long you want this card to be effective (24h, 48h...).
The subway line links to the airport go through the main station in the city and that is really helpful.
The hostel I (kind of) choose (it was one of the last with a room available) was more than decent. It was really in the center of the city. It is not far from the city hall and Tivoli for exemple and it is down the shopping street. The hostel is really sympathetic and welcoming.
I heard so much about the little mermaid that I wanted to see it straight from the beginning. It was not on the map so I asked to one of the staff in the hostel. The fact that it wasn’t on the map should have interpellate me. Nevertheless after she showed me the general direction I went wandering.
The weather was just awesome. A sky clear without cloud, a sunny day and a temperature of 24°C. In one word summer.
The architecture of Copenhagen was made after Amsterdam. So there is a lot of canals. I wasn’t long to understand that when the weather is as good as it was you can see a lot of people renting a boat and yachting.
When I arrived at the little mermaid I was so disappointed. I was thinking that the statue would bi bigger, more eye-catching. After walking so much to see it you may feel conned like me.
At least it allow me to discover the city. I walked past Paper Island and the Opera house who where on the other side. I stayed along side the shore. Something you may be surprised by is how clean the water is. I learned that there are some spots where you can swim. I didn’t take my swimsuit so I didn’t try (sniff)
If you want to experience street food in the Danish way you have to go to Paper Island. Unfortunately it will closed at the end of the year. Another thing to do is a boat tour. It crazy how freaking low many of the bridges are. I mean while you are passing under one of them you just have to raise your hand to touch the vault.
Like I said my hostel was not far form Tivoli. Let me explain what is Tivoli. It is one of the oldest amusement parc in Danemark. Even Walt Disney took after this park to create Disneyland. The attractions are not the greatest but for a park inside a city center it is quite big and really beautiful. You have several universe in the same place.
The local are quite fond of this park and honestly you can understand why. While your children are scream on the attraction you can go to a restaurant or watch a concert and dance if you want. During the summer each Saturday there is a firework.
Now more than never I want to go to Oslo and Stockholm. I know that the atmosphere will not be the same but I still I hope that I will not be disappointed.

Usagi Drop
A few days ago I have finished reading Usagi Drop aka a funny father (or in French un drôle de père). If you don’t know this manga let me do the introduction :
Daikichi is a young man of 30 years old. He is single and he only has to take of himself. One day his grandfather dies and to the consternation of the family, they discover that he had a little girl of 6 years old. Because no one wants to take care of her, Daikichi decides to keep her with him.
And it’s like this the story begins. We follow Daikichi and Rin (the little girl) in the evolution of their relationship. Through him the readers discover the dificulties to have a child in Japan, especially if you are a single (mother) parent. Thanks to Rin, Daikichi mets new people and discovers a new world.
From the first chapter I was totally hooked and I guess it’s the main reason why I was so disapointed by the end of this manga.
Spoiler alert: The manga could be divised in two parts. The first one is when Rin arrived to their first year together. Second part is from Rin’s first year in High School to her graduation. So in the second part we discover that Rin had fell in love with Daikichi. I am still OK with this. Where I think it is a big WTF, it’s when Daikichi accepts her love and agrees to marry her, all this don’t make sense.
During all the serie, Daikichi has never stopped mentioning to Rin and to anybody who may ask him that Rin is his daughter. No matter what happens, even if Rin doesn’t want to live with him anymore. She will remain his daughter. Then two pages later, he is agreeing to be her husband. All the thing is so weird. All the good feeling I had when I was reading the manga get lost.

I went to the Barbie exposition in Paris. I have never really like to play with this toy. But I should say that this exposition is quite interesting. You start from how doll used to be use in the 19th century. Then you see how the Hadler transformed a german doll who was for adult ( if you see what I mean) to a doll for little girl.
Like everyone I guess I know that Barbie is not just a toy. It is an Icon. But until today I didn’t get how much she was a true Icon. I mean, at one time, during the visit you cans see that almost (if not all) the big House of Haute Couture have maded an outfit for her.
This expo is really instructing but if you hope to see some bad critics about Barbie don’t go see it. The exposition is made in corporation with Mattel so Barbie is see as a positive role model.
