Headcanon of the chain and their Zelda

Sky and Sun: Lovers. He doesn’t care that she’s Hylia’s reincarnation or that she used him, he just loves her so much!!! He’ll give her gifts like flowers, love letters, or stuff he finds during his journey. If anyone talks mean about Sun/Hylia, he will give a death stare. This man killed a god for his girlfriend

Four and Dot: Absolute besties! When there was a time Four was actually insecure about his height, Dot gave comfort and helped him overcome hard times and he appreciated it. He forged a dagger just for her and she keeps it on her at all times. Both collect kinstones and will try to match them when they have the time

Time and Lullaby: …complicated. They both definitely respect and appreciate each other and they’ll help the other if they need it, but other than that, they don’t interact with each other that much. Both of them have their own life and they respect that. However, they keep an eye out for mail from them that might be important

Legend and Fable: Siblings. I really like the headcanon that they’re siblings. They’re twins but Fable always says she’s older and will try to boss Legend around. They both annoy each other but care each other a lot. Also, Ravio and Hilda are like family to them and the 2 other heroes from TH are like a far cousin

Hyrule and Dawn and Aurora: Hyrule is a little different because he has 2 Zeldas. He is more closer to Dawn just because he knows her longer but he also cares about Aurora a lot. He’s not interested in being in a romantic relationship with them but he’s always interested in what they like and will always have their back for anything

Twilight and Dusk: Friends(?). They know each other and Twi will visit Dusk every now and then when he has time. They’ll have tea and chat about their day and Midna, both missing her a lot. Dusk thinks Link and Midna would’ve been a cute couple because she knew Midna from a long time, but she doesn’t want to tell him

Wind and Tetra: Partners in crime. Both of them know that the other is strong and is capable of fighting. They have their back and trust each other a lot. Tetra cares about Aryll just like her own younger sister. Part of me likes to think they both have a crush on each other and the chain teases Wind about it. Young love

Warriors and Artemis: More than work partners, less than lovers. Warriors thinks Artemis is beautiful and strong but he can’t exactly tell if it’s a crush or not. Artemis secretly likes him but she keeps it to her self as the leader. Others think they spend a lot of time together, but they’re just coworkers, right?

Wild and Flora: Another complicated relationship. Even tho in the games I ship these 2 together, I think they don’t see each other as a lover in LU. Wild was in a relationship with Mipha and Flora knows it so she stays out of it. They really don’t know how to interact with each other post calamity.

The more I think about Majora's Mask the more theories I make and they all make me very, very sad.

Regarding the transformation masks, I don't think they're meant to be parallels to Saria, Darunia, and Ruto. I think Deku Princess, Goron Elder, and, of course, Lulu fit their roles better. In a sense, I think the transformation masks are also Link.

The Deku butler's son is what he could have been in Kokiri forest. He could have been a happy little boy, with his father and his community. But Link and the Deku butler's son both left home to explore, and as far as both the Kokiri and the Deku are concerned, neither came back.

Darmani is what he could have been in Goron City. A powerful hero to the Gorons, celebrated by them for clearing Dodongo's Cavern. A close link between the goron elder, Darunia, and their sons. Both him and Link remain after death, reflecting on their histories as heros.

Mikau is what he could have been in Zora's Domain. Maybe not a cool as hell guitarist, but a husband to Ruto. Who would stop at nothing to keep her happy and safe, like infiltrating a fortress, or climbing inside of a whale.

And even the Fierce Deity is just Link, but back as an adult. As if so much changed so rapidly, he felt like he transformed into something less like himself, and more like a powerful god.

I hope this is coherent. I have a lot of thoughts about Majora's Mask, and maybe someday I'll try to compile them all. The hero of time is so incredibly interesting, I really like theorizing about his thoughts and feelings on everything that happened in Ocarina of Time. Tell me your thoughts on this, if you'd like, I always like to hear more.

when legend is upset, he stomps. Just like rabbits do when they’re upset!

wind gets super close to monster because likes to take photos of them to make figures

time isn’t a big fan of dogs because he got attacked by them in his deku form during mm

sky is always in the first set of night watch because no one can wake him up in the middle of the night

wild really wants to borrow hyrule’s candle but the others aren’t allowing him

warriors is actually good at sewing! Him and legend are the ones who patch up the chain’s clothes

twi tries to scare time every now and then when he gets a chance. He hasn’t been successful

hyrule’s good at hiding his weapons and belongings from others because of how chaotic his Hyrule is

four wants to learn wood carving from sky because he wants to be able to create stuff other than weapons

Side Note To Fan Fic Authors

Here’s the thing.

I read a lot of scripts.  A lot.  From professionals to aspiring writers to complete newbies.  Features and pilots.  Specs and treatments.

And 8 times out of 10 the fan fic that I’ve read over the last, oh, 15 years is leagues better than this stuff.  It’s more inspired.  It’s more compelling.  It’s genre bending and creative and heartfelt.  It’s well-paced and intense and funny and sexy and meaningful.  It’s smart and thoughtful and good.  It’s novel-quality.  Better than, sometimes.

Rare is the script I don’t want to put down, but how often have we stayed up until 3am to get to the last chapter of a 100k fic? And it’s not even a fan fic author’s day job.  This is what they do on the side.  In their spare time.  For free.

So my point is, fan fic authors, you’re good.  You’re good writers and great storytellers.  I know it doesn’t always feel like it, especially if you’re one of the authors who’s not a BNF and doesn’t get the notes/hits that a few do.  And  because some people still view fic as “not real writing.” You guys know the shit that gets made into movies.  You’re better than that.  So be better than that.  If writing is what you think want to do, then just know you’re already doing it.   You’ve already started.

And you’re more talented than you might think.

What the chain does when they’re sad

Time: Looks at his ring, plays the ocarina, asks the chain to talk about something they like so he can see them smile

Sky: Plays the harp, talks to the master sword, hugs the sail cloth

Twilight: Distracts himself by being busy, stares into the twilight sky, howls in his wolf form, spends time with Epona

Four: Hugs “ezlo”, talks to himself to physically hear his thoughts, listens to the chain talking

Warriors: Journal, talks to Time, talks a lot (being an asshole) to distract himself

Legend: Looks at photos of friends (Naryu, Din, Ravio, the two other heroes from TH, etc.), sings/hum/play balled of windfish, stays quiet

Wind: Reads/Writes letters, talks to the chain, makes his surroundings(camp) extra comfy

Hyrule: Stays quiet, goes to sleep early, gets very angry if you push him too hard (ex. An ambush)

Wild: Looks at photos, walks away from the chain with wolfie, spends time with Epona

Four Sword Palace

I’ve seen a post by @weepingtalecowboy about what if shadow was immortal and he guards the Four Sword Palace and that’s why that place is all dark and scary. I love that idea and how they talked about the reaction of the chain and four if they ever go there and seeing shadow. (Please go read it, you could probably find it when you search “four swords palace”)

But I like to think that shadow actually guided legend through the palace and warned him about the four figures from the four sword at the end of the dungeon. Shadow couldn’t fight the four figures because it looked too similar to his friends/lover (depending on who reads it) but he knew the four sword would keep corrupting if he didn’t do anything about it so he asked help from legend. Legend definitely remembers about the palace because it was scary af for him and he’s still creeped out about it but he also remembers the kind shadow that helped him navigate the palace.

When the chain meets for the first time, he sees four and the only thing he could think is the four figures he fought at the palace but he also remembers about shadow and wonders where he is

If I find the motivation and confidence, I might write a fanfic about it, I dunno

New habit

A little interesting info to share

I’m playing the Minish Cap again cuz it’s one of my favorite Zelda games. But the thing is, I’ve only played the jp version because that’s what I have on my wiiU (I’m half Japanese) and it’s my first time playing it in English on the switch. So! When I got to Castor Wilds, I was surprised. Because in the jp version, it’s called “Tabantha’s unexplored region” or something along the lines, I’m not the best at translating. (Photo is a screen shot of jp version)

You know another place called Tabantha? The area near the snowy region in Breath of the Wild. They even have a tower called Tabantha tower!

What makes it more interesting is that around Tabantha tower, there’s like mud or swap thing just like how Castor Wilds is a swampy place!

I played botw in English first and then played mc in Japanese so I was like “Oh! Tabantha like from botw!” But I didn’t know how many people knew about this so I thought about sharing it! (please don’t hate on me if it’s something obvious, I only played a little bit of alttp and oos/oop and I’ve never played aol. Maybe Tabantha appears in those games but I don’t know)

I love how the locations in botw have names from previous games like Minish woods or Tronbo shores/beach (can’t remember which one it was called)

Having thoughts about Legend (17 to me) verbally poking at Wars (27 to me) with the intent to piss him off, and usually Wars will just whip around and be snarky back at him because they sass each other to death for funsies all the time, but if they are around ANYONE who is not another member of the chain it just looks like a full grown man snapping at a child, so he has to sit there instead with his eye twitching while Legend pokes fun of him and he just. He CANNOT react. And Legend knows this, so he saves his best remarks for when they’ve stepped into a town and sits there and CACKLES as he watches Wars struggle to keep himself calm

(and ofc Wars has cried out his frustrations to Twilight over drinks, and Twi was just like “bro why tf are you beefing with a teenager you are almost thirty” and while this is happening Hyrule and Legend are high fiving because for Legend it was another gloriously successful day and he’s watching more and more strands of Wars’s hair go gray)

Game Night: CHAIN ATTACK!!!

i am,,, withering away but ITS DONE ITS DONE IM FREE FROM THE CURSE (<<< still haunted by wips) clocking in at 32+ hours, this sucker has been getting pushed around for 10 months-

while theres some things i would have done differently if i could redo this from scratch, i still had a BLAST cramming in as much detail as i could tolerate >:) some highlights / cut ideas / ramblings are below the cut, but please zoom for details! (if tumblr doesnt shred it to bits)

gonna be real i locked so hard onto drawing ripped jeans that i forgot i could have just shoved legend into a skirt and called it a day

SOCKS. SOCKS. the amount of Joy anytime i figured out how to personalize them with game references: legend (hibiscus), twilight (ordon goats), and four (force gems)

i WAS going to put time in a turtleneck, but had an epiphany and started digging for the most obnoxious hawaiian shirts i could find,,, ft. a sea flower (wind waker) and a saturation boosted plumm (twilight princess)!

yeah so warriors got the sweater instead of the skintight shirt, sorry gang

speaking of if i ever say im going to draw a cableknit sweater again, somebody PLEASE shake some sense into me- warriors sweater was a NIGHTMARE since my art program has an astonishing lack of good brushes (and yet here i am still using it)

MOST of the text has been modified using the twilight princess cipher because yeah. i was procrastinating shading. also the other ciphers were in japanese- times shirt is cropped, but reads "its 5 oclock somewhere"

hyrule :D embroidery on his sweatpants because i was struck by whimsy- also i 100% thought his shield was purple tinted for weeks while drawing this because the page i used as reference was set at night, and i was originally basing his sweater on his shield- scrapped the cross pattern after several failed attempts but kept the color ^^

the chips are bbq because im biased (reads "crisps" in twilight princess cipher for no real reason except whimsy)

bless my dearest homie for game reccs because the og plan was to have them all be loz games! titles include wii sports resort, elebits, super mario party, smash bros ultimate, just dance 2016 (its box art is colorful ok), and myth makers orbs of doom (I HATE THIS GAME WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING, as i should, anyways i should play it again). four is suggesting orbs of doom, buddy aint even playing,,,

kinda was hoping to play around with hair colors and skin tones a bit more, but again, see the hour count- ill get em next time surely,,, also blue vs violet eyes for legend already had me in decision paralysis

the whole gang was gonna have friendship bracelets with color combos based on dynamics i found neat but oops! didnt finish the layer :')
