i had a restful and restorative saturday where i slipped all social obligations and assembled a wonky future wall hanging. i want to have a hand quilting project (see second image for quilting ideas) and this is a nice portable 2'x3' size. i think it will end up being ugly but that's okay.

this was my first time piecing blocks with curves! i was very brave! also all the dark blue is slightly stretchy corduroy and it is nigh unironable and this sucker needs to be steamed

Top: Nintendo has been proven to use the fan website The Spriters Resource to access sprites from their own games, instead of taking the sprites from their own archives. A sprite in Super Mario Maker (later even reused in Super Mario Maker 2) contains a pixel underneath Mario's mustache with a color that does not actually appear in Super Mario World. However, that exact color appeared in a sheet submitted to that site that was up in 2013-2015, at the time of the game's development.

Since the only way we know Nintendo used fanmade rips of their content was because they forgot to remove the pixel in this instance, it stands to reason that many more instances exist that are unknowable due to Nintendo successfully scrubbing out any traces of the original sheets.

help buy solar panels for the gaza refugee camp!

hello everybody! thanks to your hard work, we were recently able to meet our goals for two previous campaigns: one for ahmed, and one for shimaa (proof of donation post coming soon!). after the ceasefire was declared, the people of gaza are in a state of uncertainty - and the people of ahmed's local refugee camp are no exception. while some still had houses that remained standing (though with significant damage) and were able to return, many now are forced to live in continued displacement as their homes were completely demolished.

due to the seriously damaged state of gaza's infrastructure, the refugee camp that we work with has extremely restricted access to electricity. many people have to walk a long ways to charge their devices, and each charge costs a fee of around $3 each. many people in the refugee camp use their devices to continue working remotely to support their families (like shimaa), contact their family if they are spread out across the gaza strip or abroad, and to document their lives through the genocide. ahmed himself depends on electricity to stay in contact with us and with the people of the refugee camp in order to respond to any urgent situations that arise at all hours of the day.

as such, ahmed believes it would be beneficial for the people of the refugee camp to set up their own solar panels, both to reduce the expenses that the people of the camp have to pay and to give them more independence.

how it works:

per ahmed’s request, simk and i are collecting money on his behalf. the money that is collected in the paypal account will be sent via wire transfer to ahmed as soon as we meet the fundraising goal. it generally takes 3-5 days to transfer and for ahmed to get notification that he can withdraw the money. ahmed texts us as soon as the money is transferred and put to use.

ahmed will take videos and photos to document the process of buying and setting up the solar panels for the camp. i will share selected videos and photos on my blog so that you all can see what we can do with our collective efforts!

a small note here: to preserve the privacy and dignity of the displaced, and to avoid issues with the tumblr staff, i will be careful with what i choose to show publicly. ahmed will also refrain from publishing his own photos on social media for this same reason. if you have any other specific requests you would like to see as proof of your donation going to good use, please DM me.

please help us complete this campaign! things are still extremely difficult for the people in gaza. i can't even truthfully say that they are no longer under active threat as the israeli army continuously ignores the ceasefire deal. this will be a small, but crucial step in helping the people of the refugee camp persevere after the genocide has taken so much from them.

in the anime opening around 0:34 - 0:39 they flash a bunch of stuff while unika is balled up, lots of test tubes and blood cells and xray shots but one of the frames looks like a child, i cant decided whether its baby unika or baby sin. there also seems to be a frame of someone with long flowing hair :0 lotsa cool stuff in those frames tbqh

Yeah!! That part of the OP is really interesting. Since Unika hates Gears, I wonder if it's supposed to be her seeing her family being killed by them? The frame right before that sequence is a closeup of her eye, so I definitely think it's related to her somehow, even if it ends up not being a flashback/memory of her's

The hair shape on the kid silhouette is the same as Unika's too

Then the frames immediately afterwards are probably Gears. The first one looks like a big giant mouth Leopaldon-style, while the other has this like creepy bobbit worm thing going on

This sequence ends with a closeup of Unika's eye too, before black lightning animates the transition to a Sin segment. Idk how Sin's going to tie into it, but Sin could befriend a pissed off wasp so he's probably at least going to try his best to befriend Unika lol

I'm so excited to see what this all ends up meaning. It feels like it's going to borrow heavily from Lightning the Argent and the Gear tech bits from Begin. Nerville Hammer looking suspiciously like Sebass and the author for both LtA and Dual Rulers being Kaiho Norimitsu has me like mmmm 👀👀👀 what does it meaaaannnn.....
