Ok, fine, I’ll tell you about it. (I was dying to anyway).

David Tennant had two small cameos on a BBC parody cooking show called Posh Nosh. He plays a queer character for at least one of them (arguably both). You can watch the full (~9 minute) episodes below.

DEEP INTERSAL SIGH
Okay queerbaiting in an INTENTIONAL marketing strategy of implying or hinting at a queer relationship between two characters but never following through.
Queercoding is placing queer stereotypes or other signifiers of non heterosexuality on to characters when having out characters was unacceptable or unpopular. You can see this often with queer writers/actors/directors unable to be explicit so they use less obvious means to hint at the audience for those who are aware of these codes or signifiers.
WHatever the fuck Hilson is, it is NOT queerbaiting. I can see given some conversations those two characters have can appear that way but to me it feels more coding than that. Because I don't recall the writers or marketing team intentionally playing up the romantic possibilities or making House or Wilson gay in any shape or form. Thirteen's bisexuality is handled problematically. It was the mid 2000s too which made gains in representation but also not.
I would like to hear opinions? Is Hilson queerbaiting or more queercoding or a secret third thing? Maybe a bit of both?
#to this day 13 is one of the better representations of bisexuality I’ve seen#which is saying a lot because I’ve seen a lot and 13’s representation isn’t perfect#but it was really refreshing to see a bi women flat out saying she’s bi with a preference for women#but yeah#queercoding not baiting

now I get that Cameron was always an ethics centric character, which defined her interactions with patients and other doctors but. maybe I think s3-4 Cameron would’ve been ok with chase murdering a dictator
#no but I kind of love that she’s not ok with it because like#5 minutes before Chase actually kills him she’s like ‘I should totally kill this guy’#and then gets super mad when Chase actually kills that guy#maybe she was secretly just mad he beat her to it <3

There should be a fanfic writing game called the showrunners challenge where someone writes a story and partway through someone else can play things like "actor leaves after 4000 more words" or "topic now too politically sensitive due to unforeseen world events" or "lost rights to that reference"

I’m dead serious when I say my favorite salmon dean moment is when Sam finds that horrible taxidermy animal with the costume on and holds it up for Dean to look at.

I don’t know if this is helpful, but I have a whole host of shit that causes issues with food and cooking (depression, ADHD, Autism and anorexia), and the only way I’ve found to get around this is batch cooking.
I’m a student so my budget is basically peanuts, but I find that the only way I can make sure I always have something I can cook is to get the ingredients I need on a good day/when I feel able, and then batch cook on that same day. I’m vegetarian so I don’t need to worry about meat to be fair, but it’s honestly changed my life.
What I usually do is this:
1. Batch cook two different dinners so I don’t get bored with just one - I try to make them use similar ingredients to decrease the money I spend, but for example this week I made a red pepper pasta sauce and a lentil/red pepper curry. I then just needed to heat up my meals for the week in the microwave. I also had things like microwave rice and cheese on hand for easy additions but sometimes that was too much and all I ate was the pre-made food. Which is ok, by the way!!!
2. I add in cans of soup sometimes if I need something different/comforting. They’re cheap and really quick to heat and eat with some bread.
3. Optional, but I personally do love salads, so I try to make some that I can make in batches for lunches (i.e. will actually last), but I’m pretty careful to only make genuinely filling salads and not just leafy because I do not like leafy salads and they don’t feel satisfying. Last week, for example, I made a couscous and chikpea salad with a bunch of other veggies and stuff I liked. (Have also made sandwich fillings that you can just batch make and slap between some bread). Also, these are great if heating something up feels like too big of a step.
And then I have a few snacks in, but doing this really just makes everything so much easier. And I know this won’t work for everyone, but if it’s difficult to make meals because of depression this has honestly helped me so so much. When I can’t even get out of bed, it’s so helpful to have a good meal I can heat up in a microwave.
Obviously there’s absolutely nothing wrong with peanut butter from the jar, but sometimes your body needs something more, and this is the best way I’ve found to deal with severe depression and having to eat.
Hope this is helpful to someone, and sorry for hijacking your post op!
tired of all these depression meal recipe posts that are wildly ambitious about the capabilities of someone who's depressed enough to need them. here is my favorite depression meal:
peanut butter
in your mouth
#depression#cw mental illness#cw food#this might not be helpful#but this really helps me with my depression because it can be debilitating on most days#stay safe :)#oh also there’s nothing wrong with buying ready meals if you don’t like cooking

I'm going to be perfectly honest a lot of people claiming people don't like canonically queer shows like heartstopper love victor etc and favor queerbaity shows like supernatural house md etc BECAUSE of the queerbait itself are missing a core element of these shows and is that the weird gay thing people are having is very much a light accessory to the plot instead of being literally the plot itself. Queerness as a plot is tempting for like a two hour movie if I wanted to watch more than four hours of people discovering their identity while nothing else happens I'd just go live my life. What's the point if they're not even solving a murder.
#YUP#and those shows also lack chemistry and build up#I’m a huge sucker for build up#I want a slow burn over 20+ seasons#you give me getting together within two episodes and then some boring est relationship drama#like I know that’s also a problem with tv in general and the episodes we have but like#give me agonised pining and THEN give me a married couple

Originally, it was because they drank out of fine/bone china teacups and they were so fragile that poiring in hot water would shatter them. So, the cold milk was supposed to be a practical thing to save posh china but it’s now just like…a thing.
I don’t put milk in my tea (personal preference), but pretty much everyone else does over here. I work in a cafe and if you forget the little pot of milk it’s essentially criminal.
I exclusively remember important things.
#useless facts#England is weird#icl#it doesn’t taste as bad as you’d think butI stopped putting milk in my tea when I was like 16 and I could never go back#also it’s only black tea that you put milk in#herbal teas are left alone

But what counts as a “woman’s garment,” and what counts as “that which pertaineth to a man.”
Tunics? Dresses? Trousers?
If you’re taking one thing from the Bible and calling it law, you have to take the others. Teachings like these lose their original meanings because they directly incorporate outdated societal standards. The Bible was written down by humans, after all.
The original asker makes a good point, and in the example above you can see where things become unclear: should women be banned from wearing trousers then? You could use the above scripture to make that argument, and that means a lot of the Bible’s teachings are very much down to individual interpretation and each interpretation will be directly informed by said individual’s socialisation.
Society has evolved since the Bible was transcribed. So should Christianity.
Sorry love but the bible is thousands of years old. Its outdated af. And I bet there's countless things that are said in the bible that you don't follow. You can't pick and choose and then use that has an excuse to hate on people. And I thought jesus was about love?
It's not outdated, if you would READ the bible you would read that it says things that are happening in real-time. And of course I'm not able to follow the Bible's every word. Not because I'm picking and choosing but because I'm not perfect and I'm human if I was able to follow the bible every command I would be jesus. And Jesus is about love but you people twist and pervert hid words to make them sound right in your head but your wrong
