Okay this is like a question I've been dyin to ask but, do they like Mario kart? and if so, who's the one that throws the blue turtle shell.

I thought it'd be Curly but then I was like "Nah Anya be too competitive"

Hi there, friend! 💙😊 What a fun question! They do like Mario Kart! They have an old Wii and various games that Daisuke gave them after he bought a Switch. One of their favorite games is Mario Kart. Anya picked it up fairly quickly. It took a bit longer for Curly to get the hang of it.

Of course, Anya is very competitive with every game they play on the Wii, especially Mario Kart. She’s very good at Mario Kart, while Curly is okay at it.

If Curly gets a blue shell, he strategically waits until one of the bots gets in first place to use it so Anya can claim her rightful title as first place. She caught onto his tactic very quickly and said he doesn’t have to do that, but he still does. Whenever Anya gets a blue shell, Curly is never in first place anyway, so she has no qualms using it.

Even more questions about their families, how did the pregnancy announcements go? How did everyone react?

Hi there, friend! 💙😊 What a great question! I’ll provide some context so there isn’t any confusion because I have two separate AUs (one AU where Jimmy doesn’t work on the Tulpar, another where Jimmy does). This question pertains to my AU where Jimmy doesn’t work on the Tulpar and the events of the game never happened.

After Anya and Curly get married and Anya gets pregnant, they send announcements to all of their friends and colleagues. As far as the pregnancy announcements went, both Anya and Curly’s families were very happy for the both of them. Anya and Curly’s parents frequently visited to check up on Anya and Curly, offer support, and help around the house. Swansea also came around frequently to help out.

I never designed the character design for Anya and Curly’s baby, now that I think about it. I’ll have to do that someday. Hope was their baby from my other AU.

I think Anya’s family was very supportive of her when she came out to them, while Curly’s family was disapproving.

In terms of how Anya’s family reacted to Curly’s sexuality and vice versa, I think it was much of the same. Curly’s parents were not very happy that Anya was bi, while Anya’s parents were supportive of Curly.

When the in-laws met, it was over dinner at Anya and Curly’s apartment. Here’s a little snippet of their conversation over dinner:

Curly’s mother: Oh, thank goodness you’re finally dating a woman.

Curly: Mom…

Curly’s father: I don’t know if he told you this, but he was dating a childhood friend of his before you.

Curly: Dad, please…

Curly’s mother: Dating a man wasn’t the best for his self-esteem. He’s had a much better experience dating women.

Curly’s mother pats Curly’s hand. Curly rubs his neck uncomfortably.

Anya: Yeah, dating women is generally better than dating men. Speaking from personal experience.

Curly’s mother: I’m so glad you agree. Wait, what?

Anya takes Curly’s hand in hers.

Anya: But, out of all the men and women I’ve dated, Curly has been the most wonderful.

Anya smiles at Curly lovingly. Curly smiles gratefully in return, squeezing her hand gently.

Anya’s mother: We’re very happy for you both.

Anya’s parents smile. Meanwhile, Curly’s parents furrow their brows with confusion.

Later, when the in-laws leave:

Curly: Thank you for supporting me during that awkward conversation at dinner...

Anya: Of course. I’m sorry that your family isn’t supportive.

Curly: Yeah, that’s what happens when you grow up in an uber Catholic family.

Anya: That must’ve been rough.

Curly: Yeah…

They embrace.

Anya and Curly are out to certain friends and family members. The friends that they’re close to and trust know that they’re bi.

Anya’s parents know that Anya is bi and support her. They’re pretty open-minded.

Curly’s parents, on the other hand, are less supportive. Curly managed to keep his former relationship with Jimmy a secret from his parents for awhile, but they eventually found out and were heartbroken. This deeply impacted Curly in a negative way. Jimmy was the only man Curly ever dated. Anya is helping him through his internalized shame.

Of course, since Anya and Curly’s prior relationships were abusive, they help each other through their trauma as well.

- When Anya and Curly start dating, since they’re finally in a healthy relationship, they’re able to act like their true selves with reassurance that their partner won’t retaliate. I headcanon that Anya is feisty while Curly is sweet. Anya’s feistiness tempers Curly’s sweetness, and vice versa.

- Anya is SUPER organized. She stacks and color codes all of her belongings, especially documents, file folders, books, and her clothes. You should see her sock drawer. It’s immaculate.

- Curly isn’t as organized as Anya with his belongings, but anytime he puts any of Anya’s things away, he does a pretty good job. He’s memorized where her socks go in her sock drawer and manages to put them away in the correct place any time he does laundry.

- Curly and Anya love to cook together. Any time they cook, singing and dancing to music is required. Curly is really good at barbecuing while Anya is really good at making soba, oden, and miso soup.

- Curly’s hobby is woodworking while Anya’s hobby is reading monster romance novels.

- They both go on routine morning jogs together through the neighborhood.

- In the winter, they take weekend trips to the mountains to go snowboarding.

Anya awakens to the sight of yellow-green tree leaves above. Bright, hot sunlight filters through partitions in the leaves. Curly peers down at her. Worried creases line his furrowed brow. He forces a small smile.

Anya’s whole body feels weak and heavy. She opens her mouth to speak, but the only sound that comes out is an exhale.

The familiar snap of Anya’s pill box closes as Curly holds a bottle of water and a pill to Anya’s lips. She swallows the pill with several large gulps of water.

Anya looks around in a daze. She notices that she’s lying on a patch of grass in Curly’s arms.

Curly pours some water into her raven black hair. The water dampens her hair and cools her down a little.

An amusement park goer stops and kneels beside them. He hands Curly another bottle of water. Curly takes the bottle and douses the rest of Anya’s hair.

“Can you help me carry her into that building?” Curly’s muffled voice resounds.

Anya suddenly feels arms wrap around her legs and waist as she’s carried into an air conditioned building. After several minutes, the shade and cool air pull her back into full consciousness.

Anya fully awakens to the sight of a park medical staff member, Curly, and the man who helped move her inside. A blood pressure cuff is wrapped around her arm. She lays on a bench, her feet propped up on the bench armrest and her head laying in Curly’s lap.

“Hey. How’s my favorite girl?” Curly asks.

“Good now,” Anya whispers with a nod.

“Her blood pressure is returning back to normal. I’d keep her indoors as much as possible. Today’s a hot one,” the medical staff says as he removes the blood pressure cuff with a rip.

“Thank you for your help,” Curly says with a grateful smile.

The medical staff member and man who helped her smile with a nod and leave.

Anya realizes that Curly’s fingers have been running through her hair this entire time. She sighs and leans into his gentle touch.

They sit silently for several minutes until Anya has the strength to slowly sit up. As soon as she wraps her arms around Curly, he wraps his arms around her in return.

“Thank you,” Anya whispers.

“Of course,” Curly replies as he gently kisses her cheek.

That's actually super sweet of Anya 🥺 She likely did that a couple of times when Curly was in absolute agony from a terrible flare-up to the point that she was worried about his wellbeing (people can and do faint on the toilet, especially if they're in a lot of pain). She'd be there to make sure he doesn't pass out and hit his head on the corner of the sink or something. And, of course, comfort him :')
