I’m a sucker for Good Dad Splinter ever since I watched TMNT ‘03. That rat was gifted sapience and his immediate instinct was kindness. I love that for him.

Rise Splinter lived a rollercoaster of a life, but as a Hollywood star he remembered the names of all his stunt guys and coworkers, and as a prisoner he cared for the rat that shared his cell. His sons are very close and physically affectionate, I think that says something about how he cares? That’s just how I like to headcanon him :)

It’s interesting to explore the idea that a seemingly monstrous transformation is what pushed him to be a kinder human

Alright, I need a vote!

I want it to go with the redesign I did of his clothes, (It's here if you haven't seen!!!) so any ideas and opinions would be appreciated if you have any!

I'm not sure how often I'll use the mask in my au, but the goal in this creation was to make a mask that is reminiscent of something Draxum would make and give to Vermin. I'm leaning toward a combo of A and B; I like the horns(?) and red markings on b, but the area around the eyes for a. Option C is a little too spider. If this was a Big Mama parent au or she didn't exist, then maybe it would work, but because she's such a major villain in the show, I kinda want to veer away from spider-esque stuff. While I really do like D, it's a little too far away from what I was going for. E was just something I wanted to try to see if it would work out so...

Alright, here's the next version of Vermin's mask! I used the top three from the poll to make this one(minus the kitsune mask because, although I really liked it, it just didn't fit what I was going for-a shame, i know)

I think it's got too many teeth, but we're on our way to a more solid design!
