So I went to Mare Fair 2024. It was my very first con experience, and it wildly exceeded my expectations. My favorite part was the sketchbook exchange; seeing so many people come together to create and give was beautiful beyond words in my eyes. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics of about half of what I drew for other people, so sadly those pieces will be lost to time forever. Overall, sketching with colored pencils turned out to not be a great idea, but it was a learning experience. Next time, I'll be prepared with a nice colored pencil and good eraser.

I recently ran Dark Skies Over Equestria, the first published campaign for the Renegade MLP TTRPG system, for my usual group of TTRPG players. However, I decided to give it a twist: the group would play it from the perspective of the changelings. What followed was an unforgettable journey full of twists, turns, and a lot of bugs doing bug things. I decided to cap it off with the group pic to commemorate their victory over odds stacked heavily against them. Done for an art jam. The theme was a tie between Foals and Beach, so I combined them like I do for all ties for art jam themes. The perspective feels a bit off, but I think it looks good enough and I had fun drawing it and that's all that matters.

Two Little Holiday Flies

I wrote a story for a friend, thought I'd post it in my usual places. Nothing explicit, but it does get pretty sensual.

Done for an art jam. The theme: Armor. My boy Garrett rocking the armor of his king. Not my best work, but also not a total wash; I do like how some things turned out, like the scale mail.

I wanted to try something different and the most recent book of the Renegade MLP TTRPG characterized griffons as some French-like pastiche that saw full sets of armor as a reminder of Griffonstone's better days, so I decided to look at some French paintings for inspiration. I later got excited enough to decide to go full in on the French painting idea and decided to do the whole thing in digital paint. Unfortunately, CSP requires custom brushes for it to look actually painted, and by the time I realized that I didn't have enough time to redo it to look nicer since I was a dummy and procrastinated until the last minute. I'll try digital painting again in the future for a smaller idea without a deadline.
