Against my better judgement, I went to Kino and bought The Animation Works of Arslan. You don’t understand, this thing has been haunting my dreams so I HAD to buy it. It comes in like a casing when taken out of will give you the two books on the right: the Animation Works and Arakawa Hiromu’s rough drawings(?)

Of course the first book I reached for is Arakawa Hiromu’s stuff.

Gieve that you?! Daryun and Narsus’ designs also had changes. Gieve tho… he surprised me, I nearly tripped down an escalator. Arslan’s design looked really cool!! Spoilers for season 2 characters (maybe?) ANIKI and… Hermes, do you have something you would like to share with the class?

There’s also several pages that show the patterns on their clothes in better detail. I’ve been doing Daryun’s design wrong all this time TTvTT

Last part of the book showed some rough storyboard of the first chapter. We nearly got a pouty Arslan, I’m kind of sad now.

Okay, time for the actual animation book ahaha. It starts with posters for magazines. Then it has articles about the characters. I don’t understand because I can’t read Kanji welp. At the end of the article, there’ll be a small box with a characters items. It’s usually their weapons, horses and accesories. Gieve’s box is crowded.

For some reason, Elam’s disguise is his…item? I thought it would have been his bow and arrows. And his sword. But okay?

Favourite part of the book! Character designs and a whole bunch of them. I have a feeling this book will be very used and loose after three months. Just like my Arslan Senki comics…

Is THAT what your armour looks like, Hermes. I seriously couldn’t tell from the anime.

There’s a staff comment section near the end. It’s pretty interesting and has pretty and cute drawings. I feel a soulful connection to the art director, Kudo Tadashi-san’s drawing.

Tanaka Yoshiki and Arakawa Hiromu’s message make up the end of the book. Is that Arslan looking very happy at himself for being able to say Yashasuiin without biting his tongue? Good for you, young prince! Jaswant, stop creeping on the side and just join the gang.

Sorry for the bad quality pictures. One hand had to hold the book open and the other had to hold the camera so it’s hard to get the pictures right. Also the lighting in my room is horrible. But I hope it makes you want to buy the book and see for yourself. I think it’s very interesting.

Oh, I bought a volume of Haikyuu too. To….study kanji.
