Working on the characters developed from the drawings contributed by children - during the Memory Trees installations - combining them with abstracted natural forms. This image is of the current page of my sketchbook, Im finding working in short ten minute breaks (from my day job) helps keep the project at the front of my mind during long shifts and allows me to jump back into my studio time more easily. It really does work, drawing everyday no matter what else is going on.

This is a collection of images from the first part of a sketchbook being used to develop the inital stage of responding to the project participants memories.
The sketchbook includes drawings from Holywells Park Ipswich that were created during sketchbook strolls which I help run the last Sunday of every month, photocopies of memories, natural object forms and text from collected memories. This sketchbook is about idea development and observational drawings that will later be worked upon on a larger scale.

Still Image of installation as it was in July 2017.
Engaged in some brilliant and thought provoking conversations whist collecting lots of great memories to add to this project.

Memory Tree
This is a project I have been running in Holywells Park for two years, this year should be its last.
It started as an activity to bring public interaction into my art practice and has since developed into a public art project, which includes an evolving wall mural and installations that ‘pop up’ in the park to spark interactive moments.
I have collected memories from park visitors of all ages and am developing artwork from them.
This blog will be used to track the remaining year of this project, with more images to follow soon.
