I made the flag I always wished I could’ve seen around the state. I left it all on the field over the last two weeks for the people of Mississippi. I’m proud of the work. I got a note from @plschmidt15 with his interpretation of the @greatriverflag. I gotta share it. “It's said that there are 5 main regions of Mississippi; The Hills, The Delta, The Pine Belt (Piney Woods), The River/Capital, and The Gulf Coast. I think all of these fit amazingly into your design. The Hills represented at the top of the shield, the two arches with a crest in the center The Delta and the River both of course represented by the the river (specifically the top waves and the river line) The Capital also by the star at the top The Gulf Coast represented by the bottom waves at the top of the body of the shield The Pine Belt by the tall lines encompassing the width of the shield.” Of course. In high school, I worked at Winn Dixie, Kroger and L&S Grocery. My favorite was L&S because they would bring out a sign painter to decorate up the windows with the deals of the week. I grew up all around TVA. Would see Brown's Ferry every time we went tubing. Would drive over Wilson Dam and Wheeler Dam countless times headed back and forth from Alabama to Ole Miss. While I didn't think too much of the whole public works part of it, TVA was huge. It modernized the valley. It gave my grandparents light. It cut malaria. It increased crop yields.
