Twelve help me, I've been found out!
I'm still in the middle of asset-making, really. Haven't even a lick of experience with coding a mod before save for fixing small bits here and there of ones I've used.
So it's a big if. But hey, I guess it was obvious in hindsight.

the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .
for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...

Man I love Dimitri to death but it will always piss me off how he's allowed to heal during the actual story and become sympathetic to the audience once again while Rhea doesn't get the same privilege even though their stories are basically the same, everyone loves it when the young troubled man gets a redemption arc and gains back everything they lost but when it's an old hag whose trauma isn't easily digestible and who doesn't cry pathetically over being rejected by the player she doesn't get the same privilege and she either unceremoniously dies offscreen or her healing is relegated to an ending story blurb. I love how intsys treats women!!!
#reblog#fe3h#discourse stuff#full on agree#I've held more frustration over sympathy given only to the marketable ladies#as that marketability is a source of frustration over how the narrative bends over and forces you to select only sympathy for them#Rhea and Dimitri are deeply interesting as traumatized flawed individuals#And the narrative doesn't coddle them about it#Aside from player pandering but that's expected from IS what the heck is a customizable character experience?#Give me all the well-written trauma arcs and stop shoving them into the corners where everyone can conveniently forget#Or at least some consequences for poor decisions given by main characters
