Breaking the Vow of Silence.
Hi. It’s been a long time.
I’m reposting this story here from my personal blog as it’s more relevant to the Undertale fandom, and I feel that it really should be said here.
So last night I discovered a very old chat with someone I had an extremely bad falling out with in the Undertale fandom. After reading the final messages sent to me by that person, followed by what they did to me after the friendship had ended, I feel the need to no longer keep the vow of public silence I was…. idk if saying manipulated or forced is the right word (though it sure feels like I was manipulated, back-reading with retrospect), but I was asked to keep the falling out of our friendship private and not make it public, for this person feared that if I made it public, I would end up cutting them off from their little friend group and chase them out of the fandom.
Though I will not be outing this person’s nickname at the time, because this isn’t a call out. This isn’t a warning to “stay away from this user” or whatever. This is just… me finally breaking that “public silence” Vow, solely for myself, to give myself as much closure as I can get.
So yeah. Here goes a random rant about probably the second worst experience I’ve had in my fandom experience. I will be reblogging this version to all relevant blogs. Sorry if that causes spam for anyone who might still be following these blogs for… whatever reason, but. This is a story I’ve kept inside and out of the public eye for so long that I just… sort of feel the need to.

MOVING
Hey guys, I’m leaving this blog behind.
Why?
Well I just kind of need a new start honestly. New hub blogs, new life, new me.
This blog will now be my “archive” blog. Basically, it’ll house all of my RP accounts and blogs that have been officially archived.
I’m going to be taking down all of my pages and a bunch of stuff.
To the RP blogs I was following: I’ve already re-followed you on my new RP hub blog. You can find it pretty easily. Please don’t block it!
I’ve also made a “personal” hub blog for all of my non-rp blogs, like my art blog and what have you.
Anyway, see you on the other side!

I’m debating on how I want to go this.
I want to set up RP blogs and do stuff on tumblr again, but... I’m just not sure how I want to do it.
If I should make main accounts for each RP blog (I can’t ever remember to check them all though??? I’m just so bad at it argh??? How do people even do this)
Or if I should keep all of my blogs as side blogs and make a new main blog for RP blogs and a new main blog for Non-RP blogs to tidy up my dashes a bit
Idk... A part of me is also just kind of “Do I ven want to be on tumblr anymore for rping lmao”

5 am Rylie thoughts: If Chara brought their body to the surface to rest them on the golden flowers they loved so dearly... Then how in the fuck did Toriel manage to bury their body in the ruins??? Did Asriel bring Chara's body all the way back through the barrier???? That doesn't seem to make sense considering how he was attacked. I mean as much as I love my sibling I don't think I'd carry his body all the way back home when I'm dying from my own injuries. I don't think I'd be able to.

needs no additional words on this
Edit: Seems like some people don’t get it. Explanation copied pasted
Japanese fandom has been used to ‘ore’ from the fan translation. Oira gives a very different impression. Like a really young rough cute boy impression. So he is now giving the impression of a snotty brat
(And I guess it’s confirmed(MAYBE?) sans is really, really, really young. Especially since toby hinted with boku but it ended up oira instead)

How To Make Circle Icons In Batches in PS
So I did the Batch Icon Tutorial that showed how to make icons in batches of 75 and it seems to be really popular and that makes me happy. I was speaking with someone I RP with today who complimented me on my circular icons that I use on my indie rp blog. I offered to make them icons - since we have the same muse and I already have about 2,000 plain icons of that perticular muse but they want to learn for themselves and that made me really excited and inspired to make this tutorial on how to make Batch Icons as Circles. If you’ve read my previous tutorial then some of these steps will be familiar. Shall we begin?
I am going to be making this icon:
Long Tutorial Under The Cut.

Bloodseeds - The Journey
By Glitch
Humanity had sealed Monsters in the asteroid belt over 1000 years prior and in that time, humanity had expanded to new planets, finding new food sources… and new parasites. In that time seven humans had ended up with the monsters, the first raised as one of their own until their death, and the rest killed for their souls. Now, a final human, infected with the same thing all others had, has arrived, wanting to free the monsters. But how will their journey go, in a world that’s kill or be killed, and when flowers break through their skin every time they feel fear and stress.

So… BlackLight’s decided that he likes smoking...
viti voice: what a disappointment
BlackLight voice: Shut up don’t judge me I like a good smoke
(He uses nicotine inhalers now tho but the sentiment is the same lmao)

So... BlackLight’s decided that he likes smoking now. >:U
I mean, he doesn’t smoke regular cigarettes anymore, instead he uses a flameless, heatless nicotine inhaler that looks and acts like a cigarette. It’s supposed to be better for you since there’s no smoke or stuff to damage your lungs (though like he cares about that anyway lmao no organs) but still.
I can’t believe him.

Ya know, it'd be nice to be able to scroll through the general undertale tag/search on mobile and NOT see people talking about how cringey it is or how toxic the fandom is because people can't seem to grasp just how big the fandom actually us and they see like MAYBE 100 people on Tumblr being brats and are like "Ewwww!!!" When the fandom is. Like. Over 40k large and probably. So much larger. Like I see more people outside the fandom hating on the fandom than the fandom being shitty.

@glitchpuppy
(actually it's because, even though you gain a LV, your EXP does not increase. this seems to be intentional too, since it remained after the patch. there are uh... a few theories on why. it's kind of fascinating.)
Oh hey, just saw this.
That is an interesting fact, though I feel like that might be a lazy programming choice rather than anything else.
In the end, all of what I’ve been rambling about has been speculation and nonsense tbh.
Though, I still think that Sans’s Auto LV UP reward was to make sure the player reached LV 20 no matter what. It’s probably easier to program an auto LV UP than inputting a huge amount of EXP to make sure the player would max out.
I mean, there could be many theories around it though. It’s fun to speculate, but yeah. Probably just a programming shortcut.

You know like.... I don't even care about what's Canon or what's not Canon. Just don't shove your head canons in everyone's face and demand them to see it as Canon because you want to desperately prove to those whom are critiquing your plot design in a poor manner that they are wrong and you are right. Like... I'm not gonna force people to accept this new weird thing I found as Canon. There could be many interpretations. But it's when ya shove shit down people's throats when I get annoyed. My rule of thumb for Canon for any franchise is actually very loose; just have fun, and go wild. But the moment you start saying your interpretation and your interpretation only is canon, that's when I'm gonna fite.

BlackLight's Future
So I've been thinking about Light and his future as a muse... And I'm starting to think that maybe it's time to remove him from "Errortale" and make him his own AU. Well, he'd still be Dance plates ofc, but the Error part... IDK. I've been thinking of new concepts for a "what if Light isn't an Error but something else" AU and wanted to know what you thought. The first concept is, of course, what he actually would be. I was thinking of making him a virus, like an ACTUAL virus. Something known to destroy it's host. Something like that. Then I thought: okay, then what about his attacks? The strings? And I debated on whether or not to wipe them from the equation. Still not sure. If not, then I have an idea as to what the strings are. The strings would be white, and they'd be pretty much lines of code (a play on the term "string of code") and instead of being a puppeteer attack, these strings would tear through the very fabric of reality, corrupting the code of whatever they touch. Temporary exposure to these strings will only have temporary effects (i.e. if Light gets you with his strings for a minute or two's worth of contact, your arm might be weirdly colored for a day) but long time exposure can cause permanent damage. Object codes (i.e. a kitchen table) are much easier to corrupt than sentient, living codes (i.e. a human/monster/animal/wtfever Flowey counts as) but both can be corrupted severely if exposed got too long. A place that could replace the Anti-Void I would call Corruption, or maybe The Graveyard. The latter title gives me a literal graveyard scene that has grey skies and there is no life growing in the earth. There are probably stone structures in ruins decorating the landscaping. Viruses like BlackLight would be created by when a timeline becomes so corrupted that it suffers from a CRASH. You know, like when the game bugs out and crashes on you (Not when it's programmed to do so) but living codes (i.e. Sans, Papyrus, ectect) survive through the crash and get stuck in the Graveyard. Living codes slowly lose their sanity over time from the dreary atmosphere, isolation, trauma, and the voices. In this "what if" au, the voices aren't from Those Above, but are from the dead living codes of the corrupted/crashed timelines. They can only be heard in The Graveyard, and cry out and whisper/shout at anyone they can, as they want to live again. Viruses would have territories they call "nests" where they settle down and call their home. These Nests can be anywhere and are usually marked with the white strings of the virus that claimed the area. Viruses can, like Errors, destroy universes. When their strings tear through the code of reality in a timeline, the code of that universe is stored within the strings used to destroy it. Viruses can permanently destroy these universes by destroying the strings, or roll them up into balls of string and keep them as trophies. Light did the latter and liked to suspend his from the ceiling of his nest. Back to how Viruses are made: living codes are not supposed to be in the Graveyard, so with everything against those whom survive, they will become corrupt. Corruption of living codes can get very messy and spotty, corrupting different parts of the code. A sign that tells someone how long they've been in the Graveyard for is how black their bones/skin/fur are. Their bones/skin/fur will be spotty with black and grey spots if their only in there for a short while (1 month - 6 months typically) and completely pitch black if they've been in there for a while (50+ years) Monsters and humans can become Viruses easily. The Graveyard corrupts any and all living code. The only way to get in and out of the Graveyard is through the strings of code (heh) as they can tear holes in reality. These holes can act as wormholes for Viruses to use to hop across the multiverse and get in and out of the Graveyard. Unfortunately, you need to have several years of corruption before your SOUL can make strings. At first, the strings aren't even strings--they're more like stringy slime that a virus needs to mess with in order to control. I am not sure about how Viruses would go about summoning their strings. I know Errors tear their blue magic strings out through their eye sockets, and tbh I kind of like that horror aesthetic. But, ripping these strings out from the soul directly sounds morbid, or maybe strings can leak out of a Virus's mouth (for skeletons: eye sockets and nose holes as well) on occasion. I think that's all I got for now, but whatcha think?

@such-a-pretty-knife I... Don't know why the Wiki says Sans gives you no EXP. Killing him gives the player a whole LV UP, and arguably, gives the most EXP in the game because of it, considering you go from LV 19 to LV 20 upon killing him. I don't even need the chart to tell you, that's a LOT of EXP. I think maybe someone messed with the wiki page. That or there's something I'm missing. IDK.

I’m tired…
I’ll have to say that you’re a bit wrong in some of your assumptions and clarify what I mean.
Toriel never acknowledges you as a potential threat until the moment she is about to turn to dust, which by that point is too late for her to gain the drive to stop you as she collapses the very next moment.
Papyrus, on the other hand, is a very different story. Papyrus is very aware that you’re a threat, but he tries to stop you anyway. That’s why, if what you say about the Genocide run battles is true, then it’s as simple as that. Papyrus has more of a drive to take you down than Toriel does… Even if he wants to use non-lethal methods.
As for Sans, I’d argue that Sans had the greatest drive to take you down out of anyone. He’s given up, he’s taken on a passive nihilism where he just doesn’t care about anything. He doesn’t even attack you in neutral runs, no matter if you spared his brother or not.
However, he knows what happens to the world if he lets you continue. The world would be permanently erased. That Sparks him to care, it Sparks within him the will to FIGHT you, and not just any mild desire. With Sans’s “given up on life” attitude, it must’ve taken a lot of will power just to fight you.
You’ve become such a threat that even a nihilist like Sans, who doesn’t see the point in anything, tries to strike you down with a fight so fierce that he surpasses Undyne in difficulty by most player’s standards.
But anyway, as to how this relates to AUs and what not.
I normally don’t care about what people do in their AUs. In fact, I’m totally fine with Cami changing up how LOVE works in her AU. What I’m not okay with is her insistence that her canon-breaking lore is Canon and has been apparently shoving this information down others throats as law. Even in response to my first rebuttal she was defensive about her stance.
It’s less about the canonity of the subject and more about her insistence that her canon-breaking lore is canon and if you disagree you’re wrong. And I don’t like the whole spreading of this misunderstanding, so.
Regarding The Misinformation about the Relation between the Player’s CRUELTY and LOVE.
I’m seeing a LOT of people being misinformed and misunderstanding the core game mechanics of Undertale thanks to a huge misunderstanding, and I would very much so like to clear that up.
Contrary to what you might have seen, no, acting emotionally cruel to a monster does not affect the amount of EXP/LOVE you get upon killing them.
It’s really frustrating for me to see people think as such all because of this misunderstanding, so I’m going to be putting all of the evidence proving this misunderstanding wrong and bury it into the ground in links below for you all to read for yourselves. Warning: They’re both very long and in-depth rants, but I hope that they are at least insightful and very well worth the read.
The TL;DR version: Loox, the monster used to “prove” the misunderstanding correct, is one of the monsters that gains the will to fight you more the crueler you are to them. Your cruelty isn’t what’s making you get more EXP upon battling Loox–it’s Loox’s desire to fight you and becoming stronger in doing so that’s giving you more EXP. Every other monster, no matter how cruel or nice you are to them, is unaffected by your actions and words. Undyne is great proof of this, as her neutral deaths give you 500 EXP no matter how much LV you have/how cruel you’ve been (even if you are at LV 10, which is about what LV you’ll be at in the Genocide run) but in the Genocide run, when she is arguably much more DETERMINED to strike you down, she gives you more than double EXP upon her death, being a roughly 1,300 EXP reward to the player.
Basically, the EXP given to you has nothing to do with your emotional cruelty towards the monster, but how willing the monster was to fight you to begin with. The harder they fight, the more EXP you get.
Here are the links to the posts going into more detail about the game’s mechanics and the probably cause for them, rather than the misinformation that has been spreading.

At any rate, I do hope this clears up that misinformation.
