You show up for your first day at Copyright-Free Magic School. As you're going through orientation, you're informed that all new students get a school-assigned familiar that they are responsible for housing and maintaining. The staff member assures you that your assigned familiar is appropriately chosen and reflects you in some way.
Spin this to find out yours. (Remember, you are responsible for maintaining this familiar in your dorm room.)

You understand now that this cassette recorder was never lost. It was thrown away. Having listened to all it had to say, you feel it too. Something was let into your heart.
When the cassette rolls to a stop, you clutch it in your hand. And you throw it into the dark. Back to where it belongs.

You never even realized the sun set. Suddenly it was just dark.
But when you try to think back on it, you're not sure if the day had ever been that bright at all.

Grieve AND organize.
Good article by David Hunter on how to survive the Trump presidency, both on the personal and on the political plane.
#not american or particularly political on this blog#but it was a good read#and i feel like it applies to a lot of situations#not just the us election result

My brainrot for this man continues. Got so bad I started visualizing how he might walk and somehow this was enough to motivate me to try animation again and I'm so happy with how this came out. He's going on a little walk 💖

You wish you had possessed the self discipline to resist listening.
But it is too late now. You have to see it through. Or it will eat you alive.

The drag queens he mentioned in his audio diary??? Here's one of them. I made an animatic for Marie Corset yesterday. Look. He's an old man. His mind just exploded wide open.

You happen upon an old handheld cassette recorder in the dirt.
It seems the previous owner must have dropped it here.
Will you take a listen?

Were you hoping you'd forget? You will never be able to undo your time with Felicity.
It felt like the whole world was celebrating. At least their part of it was. 1920 kicked down the doors of history and freedom was on everyone's minds. Rosch was enjoying the rich culture of the New Era and had lived in Louisiana for a few years, having settled down after serving in the first world war. Although, back then he just knew it as The Great War.
Rosch met Felicity, a friend of a friend in a bustling restaurant. There were many new faces and names to take in. Starting out, Felicity flew under his radar. But as the night progressed she confidently moved to the forefront of his mind. She asked for no attention, but her assertiveness demanded it. Felicity was an unsinkable ship in the stormy harbour. All you had to do was step onboard, and she would take you on the journey of a life time.
Felicity wanted to see the world and experience all there was. They went out to clubs, restaurants, theatres and art exhibits whenever they had the time. And time was plentiful. They made sure to work as little as possible to get by. They lived for joy, and for each other.
Soon enough Felicity moved in with Rosch. But while Felicity was trying to build a life at home, Rosch still yearned for the night life. It also seemed the war had put something in Rosch that his deaths could not reset. Something that had been brewing and growing since he became more jaded, and his attempt to die grew more brutal.
Even though Felicity had celebrated her life with no responsibilities, she yearned for a new life. As a wife. And as a mother.
But while she grew roots. Rosch was rotting.
Before they knew it. They couldn't get through a day without fighting. They couldn't breathe. They were trapped. Friends wouldn't invite them out anymore. Or maybe they just stopped going. Life was a blur.
Felicity... Changed. She wasn't the force of nature she had once been. Her cool had boiled over. Her caring turned to spite and cruelty. She no longer wanted to see the world. There is nothing to see.
Then, one night, to try, they went to the restaurant where they had first met. To rekindle the deep love they had for each other.
If you had been a fly on the wall on that late night. And got to listen in on this couple as they stood on the balcony. Away from prying eyes. This is what it would have sounded like:
It is a new kind of feeling. Hurting someone you love. Without ever meaning to. Maybe that is just how you were wired. This is who you are.
But a person can only hurt for so long before it changes them. They have to bend in order not to break. You make the thought yours. And it shapes your being.
If you convince yourself it's on purpose. Maybe the pain will go away.

I made an Outlast Trials OC! Actually quite some time ago, but I'm not going to finish/color any of these drawings so I might as well post them.
I'm still thinking about her name, but at least I got something for her backstory! She was a flight attendant who was caught smuggling something (what? unclear). To avoid a prison sentence she had to flee and go into hiding, but unable to get another job, she ended up on the street. Running out of other options, she volunteered to become a reagent.
However, the horrors she witnessed in the trials messed with her sense of self. Although she's mostly sane, she is fully convinced she's still a flight attendant. Whatever wants and desires she had before were stripped away, completely replaced by what her picture of a flight attendant should be.
She gathers clothes from the mannequins in the trials that resemble her old uniform, and since makeup and hair products aren't readily available, she takes what she can find; be that blood, guts or other sorts of grime. She uses it to try to recreate the "required look", by rubbing it in her face or putting it in her hair. Without her "makeup", she feels very vulnerable and does not wish to be seen at all.
As for her behavior in the trials, she feels they're necessary for her to get ready, but she is completely useless until she thinks she is presentable. She is however, very good at finding the way out, standing and pointing towards the exits, much like she did for her job.
