Yelp WiFi (formerly Turnstyle) is a marketing technology that transforms wireless infrastructure into a powerful marketing & engagement platform. It helps brick-and-mortar businesses use their guest WiFi to collect customer information, send promotions, and increase customer loyalty. This gives businesses the ability to identify who their customers are, how they behave, and most importantly, deliver tailored content to them in the moment. The technology has been proven to drive new sales, increase dwell time, increase visit frequency, and many other key business outcomes... all without requiring a mobile app, and no infrastructure beyond Cisco Meraki WiFi.

Case Study: PRADA Group
The Prada Group uses Cloud4Wi’s Volare with Cisco Meraki to transform in-store customer experience in about 500 stores worldwide.
youtube
The Prada Group is a global leader in the luxury goods sector, with brands including Prada, Miu Miu, Church’s, Car Shoe and Marchesi 1824. In 2015, The Prada Group realized that the absence of guest Wi-Fi in their stores was affecting their customer base’s loyalty and satisfaction. The Prada Group’s customers wanted Internet access, and they also wanted easy social media access in order to share their in-store experiences.
Given their number of brands and store locations, The Prada Group knew that rolling out guest Wi-Fi would be a complex challenge. They required a solution that would make it easy to roll out and manage the Wi-Fi service globally while ensuring a consistent customer experience. In addition, they had to be confident that the chosen solution would meet each country’s unique compliance rules and regulations.
The Prada Group implemented Wi-Fi in about 500 stores across the world. Cloud4Wi’s Volare platform simplified the creation and customization of welcome portals for all the brands of the group, as well as the collection of new contacts – through the social login – added to their customer database.
The platform also enabled The Prada Group to understand how shoppers behave while in their stores and confidently make business decisions, such as when and where to best allocate merchandise and staff.
The successful implementation of Cisco Meraki’s Wi-Fi and Cloud4Wi’s Volare has given The Prada Group the foundation to build a more comprehensive view of customers and full personalization of the in-store customer experience with digital and human touch.

The sample code linked below will show you how to get started using the Cisco Meraki Scanning API. This code is for sample purposes only. Before running in production, you should probably add SSL/TLS support by running this server behind a TLS-capable reverse proxy like nginx.
You should also test that your server is capable of handling the rate of events that will be generated by your networks. A good rule of thumb is that your server should be able to process all your network's nodes once per minute. So if you have 100 nodes, your server should respond to each request within 600 ms. For more than 100 nodes, you will probably need a multithreaded web app.
Ruby server - Runs a web server and also Resque, a background message queuing and processing system in Heroku.
Python with Flask - The basic app will place the data received on the console, and the MongoDB script will extend the app by placing data into a local MongoDB database.
Node.js server - A simple NodeJS application to accept WiFi location data from a Cisco Meraki network.
Node-RED node - A node that will collect Scanning API data into a Node-RED flow and store into a Mongo database.
AWS Lambda - This guide will walk through the process of building a Meraki Scanning API receiver using the AWS Lambda service by Amazon. The data will then be placed into DyanamoDB where it can optionally be indexed and searchable using ElasticSearch and visualized with Kibana.
