With me, I’m neutral on all three of the mentioned things

With Obsessions, I don’t have them in my rewrite because I just don’t like writing something where “This character is Obsessed with This One Thing for Power Reasons to the point that it actively influences how they act, wether they want it to or not”. It’s one thing if a character is like this because of them being nerodivergent, another entirely if they’re like this because of powers or some magical reasoning.

With Cores, I use them because I just feel like it helps me with world building and some plot points, where Obsessions don’t help me with either. It’s rare, but I think I’ve found people not use Cores before, and that’s 100% valid because it’s technically not even canon anyway.

With Trans Danny, there’s nothing wrong with people not wanting to write him as trans, whether they have reasons or not. There may be things in the show that can be seen as proof, but it’s not one of the things where it was outright stated in canon, so it’s not actually canon. It’s fanon. With me personally, I’m probably going to write Danny as being trans. But that’s because I want to, not because I feel like I have to.

You know, I kind of dislike the ghostly obsessions headcanon. Not only because it was never really my cup of tea, but because of the fact that a lot of people, like with a lot of headcanons in this fandom, either adopted it into their own headcanons, or worse, took it for granted that it was canon. It’s one of those things that I had disagreed with but was mostly neutral to the existence of, right until it took off and became ubiquitous and you couldn’t go five posts into the tag without someone behaving in such a manner that basically implied the same “okay, so we all know that this is True” attitude that annoys me the same way all the other popular headcanons have annoyed me in the past, and continue to annoy me. Like, you’re welcome to it, but please stop acting like everybody has the same headcanon, or that this is a foregone conclusion about the actual series’ canon (I know actual canon sometimes sucks and is lacking, but we as fans still get to be picky about what we choose to incorporate into our own takes on it, and what to discard).

Like the summary says, I’m splitting the episodes into multiple chapters. The way I’m deciding how to do that is making it roughly 5000 words per chapter, some a bit less and others a bit more.

Do I feel like this is a bad idea after I, for good reason, took the last version down because I was convinced it was cursed? Yes. Am I still posting it again even though I’m still kind of convinced it was cursed? Also yes.

I’m definitely getting rid of some of the plans I made to write originally because I wasn’t in the best place mentally at the time when I started this and it definitely shows as a result of that. Would it have still been good as a way to add in a shit ton of angst? Yes. But going over the notes I had for those ideas just reminds me of how bad I was doing at the time so I’d rather not.

One thing I AM doing though is keeping the fact that I was starting to add Flynn in. I know that not a lot of people are fans of him with how Fartman was basically just pulling ideas out of his ass to create him, but personally I see it as a way I could potentially hurt Danny more than I was before. Especially with some of the things I have planned to do with his character.

This is just something I wrote for fun with Flynn, Jazz, and Danny based off of something that happened with me and my brother before. I don’t know if I’m going to find somewhere to put this in the actual fic, so I’m sharing it here.

Yes, I’m having Flynn in the fic. I had already planned on how I was going to add him in after everyone latched onto him and found ways to make him better than the crap Butch Fartman thought up. I just like the idea of Danny having an older brother.

“Do you three think you’ll be okay for a couple weeks? There’s a ghost hunting convention your father and I want to go to out of state, and we’ll probably be there the whole time they’re open.” Maddie asks as Danny, Jazz, and Flynn are sitting on the couch watching a movie together.

“We’ll be fine, mom. You and Dad go, chances are you need a break from this house.” Jazz says.

“What Jazz said. What state is it in though? I wanna get a rough idea of how far you’ll be from us.” Flynn asks.

“It’s in Colorado.” Maddie says. Flynn quickly pauses the movie and the three siblings look at each other, waiting.

“What are you three doing?” Maddie asks, watching as her children seem to have started a three-way staring contest as they laugh.

Danny ends up being the first one to break, yelling “I’m a giraffe!” making Flynn almost fall off the couch as him and Jazz laugh.

“Free sha va ca do!” Jazz manages to say through her laughter.

“Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to!” Danny starts, and Jazz and Flynn finish saying “T-t-t-t-Target!”

“What are you three talking about?” Maddie asks, absolutely confused.

“It’s an avocado!” Flynn says.

“Thaaannnks!” Danny and Jazz say in unison.

“Road work ahead!” Jazz says.

“Uh yeah, I sure hope it does!” all three of them say, as Flynn finally falls off the couch from his laughter, which just makes the three of them start laughing harder.

“Okay… I’m going to let Jack know we should start making plans to go.” Maddie says before walking out of the living room.

I just wanted to share an idea I have since I can’t find a way to fit it into the fic with how I have things planned out. Knowing how this Phandom is, chances are someone else will be willing to take it from me and use it.

Seeing that Dan has the potential to be redeemed if he has someone he cares about, he ends up finding a version of Jazz that ended up becoming a Halfa and ended up becoming evil after something similar happened to her with her family. So seeing how the two of them could redeem each other if they met, Clockwork introduces the two of them to each other.

Things are a bit awkward at first since they both never thought they’d get their sibling back again, especially someone that technically isn’t actually their sibling, but eventually the two of them do end up warming up to each other and becoming each others siblings. And Clockwork is glad to see how in the process it somehow ended up resulting in the two of them encouraging each other into becoming better people.
