In the picture on the left, which is the picture about myself, I incorporated several different things that relate to me and my senior year. In my current life, a big thing that is coming up is graduation. Graduation being months away has caused stress and sadness but is also very exciting. I represented this by showing my graduation cap, diploma, as well as the balloons and confetti as well as the beer mugs. The bar graph that I drew represents my business career that I will be pursuing after school. One thing that I learned from the book and the class is that different animals and colors can represent many different things. I implemented this into my artwork by drawing a green snake. The reason for me drawing a snake is because a snake represents bravery and the reason that I chose to draw is green is because green can represent optimism. These are two things that I need to focus on while entering this new part of my life.
For the second part of my final project, I decided to draw something for my friends at school. The thing that I drew was their house, 6 West Main Street, a place that I have made many memories with them. This is a place that I will never forget which is why I wanted to celebrate it by making them this art piece. Something that I applied from the class is that I used all primary colors on the houses, red, yellow, and blue, to make them look more appealing to the eye as well as make the picture look more bold. Overall, this is a special place and I wanted to honor it by drawing this picture.

My message that I left in the library this week was meant to make someone feel less stressed about their final exams. Finals week can be a tough time for a lot of people and sometimes you need a nice message to keep you going.
Attendance: One thing that I found interesting from the book was on page 261 when the author explains all the things that the color black symbolizes. I never realized that the color black symbolized things such as fertility, scholarship, and piety.

The process of making my collage consisted of first outlining everything With pencil and colored pencil, then going back through to use a highlighter to emphasize certain things in the drawing. I noticed that my collage had objects in it that are associated with me and my life. the object that I attempted to morph was the football as the giraffes foot and the object that I animated is the football and the sun which I used a highlighter to show.
Attendance:
On page 201 of the book, I found it very interesting that electric blue was first invented by Alexander Yuvchenko, a nuclear engineer at Chernobyl because if a mistake that he made in the nuclear power plant. The color was called electric blue because of the color of blue that surrounds electricity.

the component that I incorporated into my photo was a dramatic background. In the picture, the door and the couch are actually there, however, the Mountain View that I drew in the background isn't actually there.
Attendance: one excerpt that I found interesting that William Perkins accidentally stumbled upon the creation of the color Mauve while he was conducting experiments and accidentally created a bring purple liquid. That bright purple liquid is now known as Mauve.

For my portrait, I decided to draw my friends Aidan and Dylan. Aidan and Dylan have been a big part of my life since freshman year here at Bonaventure. I met them because they lived in the same hallway as me freshman year and ever since then, we have been close friends. Now, we live together in the same house and continue to hang out every day. Dylan and Aidan will continue to be my friends after college as we will stay in touch for sure.

one thing that I found interesting In the passage was on page 141 when the author says "It requires a lot of insects-around 70,000 dries bugs for a pound of raw cochineal". This is interesting to me because there is so much work and so many bugs that go into a single pound of cochineal which is probably not as much as we think.

part 1: for my halloween themed artwork, I decided to draw a skull shaped as a pumpkin. I used a pumpkin in the drawing because when I think of halloween, one of the first things that I think about is a pumpkin. I also used colors like yellow, orange, and red because of fall
part 2: One experience that I would like to have in my lifetime would be going skydiving. I chose to represent thins by drawing a plane with someone in a parachute jumping out of them in the sky. The reason I would like to go sky diving in my lifetime is because I anticipate that It'll be a huge adrenaline rush and a great overall experience. Although I would be very nervous to do it, I would be glad I did it in the end.

The sign of a Libra ia a balancing scale. This is because of then Autumnal equinox that occurs in September. The night and day are perfectly balanced on this day which can be represented by the scale. The colors blue, pink, green, and white are also associated with Libra because these colors represent opening the heart and softening ones presence. a Libras personality is cool and calming which blue can be represented by while pink is a sweet and loving nature. Venus is Libra's ruling planet because of their shared interests and traits such as beauty, love, and relationships. Some of the symbols that I have included in the drawing that are associated with Libra is the sign for the planet Venus as well as the number 7 because it is the 7th sign of the zodiac.
Attendance: A quote from the book that I found interesting is on page 115. It states that "Amazingly enough, the strict girl-pink boy-blue only dates from the mid twentieth century". This was surprising to me because it's a large part of our culture to associate blue with boys and pink with girls and the fact that it hasn't been around for more than 200 years is interesting.

A quote from the book that taught me something new is "soon the acid yellow of the smiley seeped out to become the signature color of the dance-happy youth, euphoric one moment, chemical, and rebellious the next"(page 74). This was interesting to me because the color acid yellow became famous because of the dance music of the 80's and the pop culture at the time. I also was not aware that acid yellow is the color of the yellow emoji faces that we all know and use on a regular basis.

The animal that I decided to draw that I feel the most connected with is a turtle. The reason I chose a turtle is because I have always liked turtles ever since I was a kid. This started when I would go to vacation to Florida every year with my family when I was younger and I was fixated on seeing a sea turtle at the beach.
My favorite music to listen to is the fall is just what I usually listen to which is hip hop and country. I've never really changed what music I listen to based on the season. My favorite Halloween movie would have to be Ghostbusters because it was a movie I watched a lot as a kid
A specific event that happened when I was born that is significant to my life would be the Colorado Avalanche winning the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals against the New Jersey Devils. While this event itself didn't have any significance to me, hockey was a large part of my childhood up to when I was in high school. Hockey was a big part of my life because it is something I love to do and it helped me meet a lot of friends when I was a child. I showed this in the drawing by drawing an Avalanche logo on the bottom of my artwork and making the background of the drawing purple, a color of the team.
A song lyric that resonates with me from my childhood is "Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy" from the song "Take is Easy" bye the Eagles. These lyrics resonate with me because when I was younger, my parents would listen to this song a lot and these particular lyrics stuck out to me. The lyrics are a reminder to not get ahead of myself and focus on what's important in life

Attendance 9/11
a quote from "The Secret Lives Of Color" that taught me something new was on page 48 when the author states "So fierce did the demand become that by 1913 America alone was consuming around 200 tons of Ivory annually. Because of their value, elephant tusks were called 'white gold' and walrus tusks 'Arctic Gold'." While I was aware that Ivory from animal tusks were valuable, I was not aware that they were this valuable. I was also not aware that they were used for piano keys, ornaments, and pool balls as well. This makes me think about how several things that we use on a day to day basis could have been very valuable a long time ago. It also makes me wonder what products that I use everyday are made out of nd how that might change my view on it.

Plant identification:
Lance-leaved Aster: This is the plant with the flower on it with white petals and yellow in the middle. Some facts about this plant are that it was introduced in Europe but is native to North America. It is a specie of a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae
Solidago Gigantea: This flower is tall and unbranched except at the apex of the flower where the branching occurs. The stem is light green or pale purple. It can be identified as a perennial wildflower.
Laterpitium Gallium: the substance in the root of this plant called laserpitium can spit an angelic acid and "laserol". This plant most commonly grows in the summer because it can be killed by cooler temperature. It is also safe to humans and animals.

A quote from The Secret Life Of Color that I found to be interesting was on page 13 where the author says "color is fundamental to our experience of the world around us." I found this quote to be interesting because whether you think so or not, color is something that we associate to different thoughts and items and shapes the way we live. For example, brown and white will always be colors that I associate to St. Bonaventure so they're important to me, but to an average person those colors may have nom meaning.
