About conspiracy theories and free thinking ☯💥
I used to believe in conspiracy theories, they work like mazes to the mind and are actually quite interesting. The problem with conspiracy theories is the belief that this theory supersedes the rest of ideas about the same thing, thinking that this theory is the light in the dark, the only truth; for instance, the idea that there are only a handful of people controlling the world, I won’t deny this idea, but it is probably not that simple.
I think that believing in conspiracy theories as the ultimate truth, is not different from a religious fanatic and their religious beliefs, and with this I mean, the danger of relegating our beliefs to a closed system. Believing emphatically (and this would apply to every belief) can make you passive; you then relinquish thinking for yourself. I get it, in this hyper-information era we live in, this works like some kind of grip in the midst of uncertainty, like the entity of the Church worked for a massive amount of the people throughout the past 2.000 years, but we have to hang in there. We should not be falling into the same pit: What if those conspiracy theories can be used against us also when they imprint fear of the future, or bring the danger of hidden agendas. The most effective way of control is through fear, so then, who are you making your master? What does humanity's future look like for you? I think conspiracy theories are a good exercise to think outside the box, not something to sleep over. Free of thinking could be uncomfortable, at the same time holds the core of what makes us human, and you can claim it for yourself if you want.

Creative process and healing trauma 🦋💕 (reflections around)
I recently realized I had this crazy association between drawing and being sick. Every Time I got sick as a child and had to be in bed (nothing serious, just a fever or a bad cold) my parents would get me a sketchbook with nice thick paper and pencils or watercolors, like a mini Frida Kahlo, although I didn't know who she was as a child. Couple of months ago I went to an art shop with my partner who is a tattoo artist, and I bought myself a sketchbook and a pencil. I already have watercolors I received for a secret Santa 2 years ago and I never used. I found myself again in that situation; I have the sketchbook and the colors, and I was only drawing when I was feeling sick or bad or down, so I asked myself Why.
I grew up in a household where expressing some emotions was not on the menu. My own parents, who I love and I appreciate every single thing they did for me, never allow themselves to feel uncomfortable emotions, they were brought up that way (and the chain goes up) so my only option as a child was to shut down, go into a ‘’freeze’’ response, go survival mode, not feeling much, because there was no room for my emotions, because there was no one there to hold space for me. Years went by and I found myself stuck in perfectionism, which is a very painful trauma response: being afraid of making mistakes, because you will be punished for doing things wrong AKA spill the milk, starting at 2 years old when we have no idea what feelings are. I found myself dimming my own light, which makes me unique, because I would only do things if the result would be perfect: this means striving at any cost, putting aside my mental health, not a happy place to stay.
