Great morning for aquagym in the sea. Meeting up with Italian, Spanish and English friends for exercise in the sea. Gorgeous weather with a gentle breeze creating waves for extra resistance.

Just perfect.

Cycled to aquagym at Playa Honda and back taking in the amazing beach views along the cycle path that runs from Puerto Del Carmen to Arrecife. It’s a 16 mile round trip with the class in the middle- so a good morning workout.

That’s January done... that was a long one...

Busy weekend preparing admin for updating residency documents as is required now.

Early morning swim yesterday testing out my new Swimmer ...

It did it’s job and dried quickly too!

Windy windy for the next few days here... love it...

As long as there’s sunshine and blue, blue skies who could ask for more?

Currently watching the world go by on the balcony....

Veery quiet here today... social distancing should be easy.

Another day another beach...perfect for social distancing.

Spent the day catching up with the news and listening to various podcasts.

The beach was empty this morning but filled up with locals after 3... lots of surfing to watch and amazing cafe con leche from the bar at the beach.

Change of venue... the beautiful, rugged and breezy playa at Papagayo. Plenty of room to social distance too.

Oh those blues... no filter needed.

Another day on the island...

Not a bad backdrop to my kindle...

After admin in town we retired to our beach for a swim and some sunshine to warm it bones...

Very quiet down there ... all social distancing apart from a group of 5 Italians and an I rush lady who wandered around sunbathers trying to elicit conversation....

I wanted to shout ‘covid!’ ‘Stsy away from me!’

Why don’t we say it instead of cringing and trying to look the other way???

It stresses me out. Jo wonder the Covid numbers have increased here🙈 it makes me mad .... and very sad....

So... hopefully last phys sip before my knee PRP treatment.

It’s 35 sessions in and has made no difference at all.

Fortunately my private healthcare here covers the cost( essential for elective residents)(and well worth the cost)

I’m bored. It hurts.

Not going to lie it won’t be missed!

Plus ... it’s been at 2.15 every day so has ruined my days.

Grateful not grateful.

Off home for coffee and cake next...

Change of yoga class location.

Level 4 on Lanza now.

So classes of 3 only for yoga.

It’s not so bad on the beach... away from everyone. Hearing the sea and rustle of the palm trees...

Hello or should I say Ola!

I’m a recently retired teacher who relocated with my hubby to the sunshine filled island of Lanzarote after working in Germany for MODschools for the last 15 years.

This blog will be the ramblings of a fully functioning 55 year old about how I fill my days on this island of sea, sun and new found freedom away from the classroom.
