lore yap:

these guys are all from pampasclan (same as swancoast, coniferstar, and cottonsmoke (pictured above) from that one doodle).

the name of the clan is supposed to refer to pampas GRASS and there being a pampas CAT is purely coincidence. its a cute coincidence tho...

pampasclan lives on a coast, specifically a cove on the coast. does pampas grass grow by coasts naturally? uhh.... i grew up going to a beach that had pampas grass on a nearby hillside hence the clan name so take that as you will

i'll elaborate about the characters in a bigger post though... shouldnt take me a month from now (hopefully)

this took a while to finish ONLY BECAUSE i made meadowantler's design on the spot and spent like a hour on him trying to get the markings + color right... THEN I HAD TO USE A GRADIENT MAP TO FIX THE COLORS ANYWAY!!! AFTER I ALREADY COMBINED ALL OF THE LAYYERRRS!!! but whatever... its done now...

"Originally found in Shardclan's territory by Willowmoth during her Assessment, Shadedkit was brought back to Tuskclan and was adopted by the medicine cat and his mate."

Before I explain anything in this text, I'll share some important information to keep in mind;

These clans aren't "Dawn of the Clans" new but they aren't as refined as the ones in the current day books either. The story of the original founding of these clans is still being told to young kits with a good amount of accuracy!

The Warrior Code (also may be referred as "the code of the stars") is still very much a thing here but with a handful of changes... notably

Medicine cats ARE allowed to have mates and kits.

Cats are not restricted to one clan.

A cat can move into a different clan, explore another clan's territory, visit another clan's camp, be mates with a cat from some other clan...

BUT! a cat still cannot hunt in another clan's territory and they cannot leave their own clan's territory at night (more-so for safety reasons than anything else... not a strict clan code rule!)

"Why was Willowmoth in Shardclan doing her assessment if she's from Tuskclan? Is that normal here??" NO!!!!!!!!!! 💥💥💥💥💥

The clans can have their own specific customs as along as they don't break the Warrior Code!

One of Tuskclan's customs is that the *deputy* needs to complete an assessment before actually getting their role. In that assessment, they need to go to the Moontree and come back in a few days time.

The Moontree is located in Shardclan's territory!

Shadedpaw specifically... since this is his ref and all...

I don't wanna say TOO much cause he is a important character to the plot/story... so here's some general statements!

Shadedpaw is conceited but also airheaded, preferring to go about things as they come to him rather than prepare and stress. His pride comes entirely from being a medicine cat and his ability to speak directly with his ancestors... but... Starclan doesn't come to his dreams. Even when he visits the Moontree.

He only meets silence.

Any cat can learn how to find and utilize herbs... Just as any cat can learn how to fight and hunt. That connection with Starclan made medicine cats important!

Why was he the outlier?

hi i have the compulsive urge to dump all of my findings and speculation about the new splatoon stuff online

if you havent seen the new splatoon trailer go watch it!! i had to run around my room at least three times after seeing it then i had to rewatch it five times.

this isn't in any real order... im just rambling beyond the little dash below :3

deep cut and this here helicopter pilot are the only ppl on the helicopter and if you look closely! this fella has yellow eyes

moving onto past when deep cut crash lands... we see the player character! they have red eyes (and lighter skin with CUTE LITTLE FRECKLES) so we can conclude that they weren't on the helicopter with deep cut... they could be from the spirhalite islands?

i also wanna put out there that the player character is a fem inkling... maybe that is obvious but when i first watched the trailer i thought they were masc because of the thicker brows!

also the bomb-line indicator looks different.... hrm.... the inktank as a whole is bigger i think!

weird mountainous structure in the back... ominous.... i could be reading too much into it but why wouldn't that be covered in fog/clouds if it wasn't important?

its blurry but whatever theyre looking for is in a valley of some kind with the Blue Orb.

player character with the ink GALLON and a little replica of shiver's shark mask? maybe they're from the same clan... but these islands seemed pretty far removed from the splatlands! either way they have some connection with shiver.

i also want to point out the tubes and what not coming out of the inktank! they go directly to the makeshift splattershot. im not saying we will only use the splattershot in this game but im also not saying that we wont...

the um...... the..... well... urm.... the only observation i've made about this eye (???) is that it opens VERTICALLY... like sideways

and finally...........

SAME COLORS BTW? raiders has a more teal than green color but still !!!! kinda interesting................

tdlr; separate blog for warriors stuff? good or no?

recently i have been thinking about making a separate blog for my warrior cats stuff (original and fanart) just because my original work has a different territory, different lore, different code, different clan origins, different starclan structure/logic and if other people end up liking that stuff then i want it to be easily accessible in one place outside of toyhouse or character hub or whatever other website people put ocs in these days...

then there's also the whole thing of me not having a name for the story yet so idk what i would even call the blog aside from a warrior-like name (prefix-suffix) as i seen others do. i dunno!!!!

the actual biggest reason behind this is that deep down in my little kitty cat shaped heart... i want do those qna things where people ask questions to my ocs AUGHH i want to do that sooo badly :( i think about it every time i come here :(((

i copy pasted this directly from csp rather than save it then attach the file to the post so HOPEFULLY... it looks ok and good. idk the specifics of that.

anyway, look! no cats! (ignore saturn) funny because i was gonna turn otto into a cat but i was too eepy yesterday... but this is a once in a blue moon kinda thing. i had a concept in my mind so i put pen to paper!

about these two:

they're fun (right) and games (left)... otto (they/it) is well meaning n curious but um. not very smart. in a "chocolate milk comes from brown cows" kinda way.

catch (he/him) is immature and impulsive. he wants to have fun and wants to have fun NOW!!! never has learned anything ever

story idea

at the very core its "what if mary's little lamb was a wolf in sheep's clothing"?

it would definitely be a horror of some kind... psychological... perhaps

there would be Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Mary (obviously), and The Boy Who Cried Wolf as characters.

goldilocks wouldn't know any three bears or what not, she just likes animals. also i thought it be cool if she was related to rapunzel since they're both known for their nice hair. probably a older sister situation.

red's parents died to wolves so she lives with her grandmother since as far as i can remember the grandmother was the only person said to be related to her.

the boy who cried wolf would be related to this story's mary as like a foil of some sorts as he lies and lies over and over again, mary is good and nice and never does anything wrong (aside from bringing her "lamb" every where she went)

as for the lamb/wolf, im not sure if it would be like an uncanny valley lamb with wolf features or a lamb that behaves oddly. i thought about having this story be like a explanation of where the werewolf concept came from but i dunno...

one thing i do have set in stone is that the boy who cried wolf is the person to find out the lamb is actually a wolf of some kind. it would be comparable to candace from phineas and ferb with the whole "no one will believe you" kind of thing but sick and twisted!

i wanna put this idea out there cause even if i had all of the skills and resources to make it work (i don't btw. i am not familiar with horror writing or illustrating and i like drawing cats more anyway), i would want to see other people's interpretations!

also also, idk if there's a story like this out there or if a story uses a concept like this already. sorry i chose to be ignorant and not do research today. yeah i know im gonna look like a big idiot if there is a story exactly like this and i just wasted my time writing this out. sorry about that....

i posted this on my bluesky already but i figured i might as well put it on here. there's an alt darker version of this drawing there and also a no-watercolor texture version of the saturn (fursona) art i posted yesterday there as well.

as if right now, none of these cats are characters but i like to recycle designs when i can so that will probably change! most likely will be used for my warrior cats stuff aha...........

process: i made a collage of different cat pictures that i've saved and then drew over it. preetty cool and awesome :3

maybe its noticeable, maybe not but i put "melponko" three times on this piece because the empty space was choking me out and stabbing me and calling me swear words!!!! i had to fight back....
