Finally took Shir-el to the side trails at Stough Canyon. We timed it perfectly. Wildwood/Vital Link Trail [Hike 14]: so I was just going to go for a run today but I was inspired by @phaellaaaa post to do a hike for #nationaltrailsday Since it wasn't just any old day I decided to revisit the Wildwood/Vital Link Trails especially since I've been talking about them a lot lately. This was my go to hike for a while after I moved back to LA, but I would be lying if I said it wasn't a challenge. My legs were still sore from yesterday and being on my feet all day for work, but I never thought I wasn't going to make it to the top. Every time I took a break I reminded myself of all the times I wasn't sure I would make it to the top and had to sit down when taking breaks and I didn't let myself get discouraged. Bought my first pair of Nikes over the weekend. I decided to break them in with a pre-work run. Feeling super accomplished and proud that I fought my night owl instincts and woke up this morning to do this. Had a fun and exhausting day helping out at the @beyondyoga sample sale. If you have the time this weekend definitely check it out. If you shop smart you can get some unbelievable deals. Fryman Canyon [Hike 11]: @sweet_xuxa and I took the little Bing Bong Nugget for his first hike today. If you can't tell he enjoyed it so much he slept for 90% of it. After a week of being sick and occasionally going to work I needed to spend some time outside. Went out to Stough Canyon and did 3.75 miles. Verdugo Crest Trail [Hike 8]: what was originally supposed to be a 5.8 mile hike on the Verdugo Mountains South End Loop quickly snowballed into me changing my mind at the last second to do the 6.6 mile Verdugo Crest Trail, realizing at mile 6.5 that I had missed a turn somewhere so I had to back track completely uphill for a quite a while, then realized I had left the super steep part of the trail for my decent (my least favorite part). Needless to say I will always be reading the comments in hike sites from now on and next time I will definitely do the trail in reverse. All in all the 8.4 mile hike it turned into was totally worth the amazing views and feeling of accomplishment when I finally got to my car. (at Verdugo Mountains)

Betty B. Dearing Mountain Trail [Hike 7]: we were trying to do Fryman since I had never been and Shir-el hadn't been in years. Needless to say we ended up on the neighboring trail.
