A white and a blush I think.” She looked through her bare cabinets for glasses. “Oh but I do have this one.” She pulled out an almost twenty-year-old bottle of a dark, almost black wine. “Mm, no actually. We’ll have the young ones. This one was a gift.” She said, taking out the pale wines from their storage.

Lucilla absolutely hated rainy days and she hadn’t expected to the stuck outside of her home. Rain was wet. And cold. And it got stuck in her collar. She’d be damp and gross and it just wasn’t a fun weather condition for her. If there was less rain in general that would be good.

But she looked down at Atrius who was setting up a fire for them and beaming about the day they’d have because of the weather and she couldn’t help but smile. There were worst ways to spend a rainy day stuck inside than with an actual ball of sunshine who genuinely wanted to make her hot chocolate and cuddle.

“That sounds fantastic.” She laughed a little at his enthusiasm. “I’m not exactly wearing cuddle clothing though.” She was still in her work uniform to be exact. “Could I… borrow something?” she asked a bit shyly.”

“I don’t have Krogan Whiskey.” Lucilla said plainly. She didn’t have Krogan Whiskey because she liked having her liver in once piece. “I probably have some Brandy or wine. If you can handle stand something more mild. It’s not filtered thought. I’m a doctor so I won’t let you die.”

"I suppose the Hanar like it too..." Lucilla groaned, pressing her hand to the glass. Lucky for her she was in her own apartment but unlucky Val was stuck in her apartment with her. The rain was falling too hard for her to send him on his way. "Did you hear how long this will last?" She asked, mostly to see how long she'd have to entertain him.

What’s messed up though is she has a lot of new counter top kitchen appliances that she never uses. The only ones she uses are the microwave and the coffee maker. Everything else is decorative. She’s got a few things in her cabinet but that’s basically dooms day food. She’s never going to cook it. Ever. Unless the goddamn world ends.

I’ve come to realize that I indeed have a type. I suppose “types” make sense for higher level species growth if you look at it. It helps match individuals from different personality traits to maximize flourishment of the species but- This is far to scientific isn’t it? Science is easier for me to work out my thoughts.

But I do have a “type”.

Apparently that type is jokesters that absolutely make my knees weak. I should be over such flattery and playfulness, shouldn’t I? I should find this behavior too similar, too painful but I only find comfort as if I hadn’t been touched for far too long.

But it isn’t just the jokes. If it was, I’d have fallen in love more times than there are stars in the sky. There will always be playful men. But few carry command and control in their shoulders as well as he does.

I’ve always taken care of myself since I was a child. I’m sure in my steps and my actions. But should I fail, should I fall, when I look at it him it feels like he’d be there to catch me. Of course he’d probably tease me but I’d be more than happy to laugh with him, as long as I could stay in his embrace.

Is it normal to want to be around someone so much? I feel like I’ve forgotten how to be with someone, truly. Part of me feels like a teenager again trying to decide what to do with him. Is it okay that it feels like home when I hold his hand? Not my first home. The home I’ve always wanted. A garden, domestic life, experiments for the sake of discovery not just for work.

What is that human expression? I can let my hair go? I can let my hair down. Yes. I can let my ‘hair” down with him in a way I haven’t been able to in years. It has been a long time since I’ve felt at peace around another person where it doesn’t feel like a game.
