This always happens...
I’m right now sitting at work on a Friday evening, sad about one of my close co-worker’s last day today.
Out of no where, I start watering up, and tears fall down my face. Why does this always happen?
I’m not normally an emotional person, but I definitely hold strong feelings towards certain individuals who’ve made an impact in my life.
It’s always the saddest thing to see someone not there. Not that I won’t keep in contact with this person, but the thought of not seeing their face, their daily interactions, their knowledge - challenging me everyday and passing along experiences - this is what I’ll miss.
I’ve always known that whatever stress I have, this certain co-worker would always support me. To know that this isn’t the case anymore aka “the world grows and changes everyday”- this is the thought, the emotion that scares me most. The fear of not succeeding on my own. It’s easy when you always know you can rely on someone, but hard when you know you have to pick up things on your own.
And to end this all, the thought that helps me think positively and to stop those waterworks, I say...
“When you're scared for what's to come ahead, do not feel pushed back. Now it's your time to shine.”
Always,

new chapters, new books, new beginnings - literally
So thrilled to have a San Francisco library card! I haven't been this excited to read in awhile. I even attached my oh-so-cute library card to my daily keychain already!
Memories as a kid going to the library with my family every weekend are coming back. Yay!
First read: "Where'd You Go, Bernadette"

I love how a simple phone chat with a friend can change your whole perspective on life. To look to the future and see the happiness from everything around you. To notice the smallest details that make the world so beautiful. To appreciate those that have been with you every step of the way, even if you forget at times. To get down at times...and have your friends show you the light. I'm so thankful for them. "When the sun goes down and the lights burn out, then it's time for you to shine...brighter than a shooting star...so shine no matter where you are.." - Owl City xo, Mean Barbie

So today in my neighborhood, I couldn't help but notice this GLOWING cherry blossom tree. Amazing! Aside from all the typical green trees surrounding the street, this bright, light-pink tree definitely stood out from the bunch.
I guess it really is Valentine's day. :-)
Spread the love.

The easily amused and the easily annoyed...
Being a fan of my favorite sport, I've definitely been keeping track of all the matches for this year's Australian Open 2011. While my eye is on the prize with fingers crossed for the success of Roger Federer taking this year's Aussie Grand Slam, I couldn't help but notice the blinding Tomas Berdych with his bright yellow t-shirt and white shorts. The amusing part: HE LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THE BALL BOYS!! His outfit makes me smile everytime, it's great. Out of all the players playing, at least he has the advantage of getting away from the paparazzi..... Good for you Tomas! :-D
An appreciation to fashion? Yes. An appreciation to innovative fashion? Most definitely. But sometimes...
...FASHION NEEDS A BREAK.
Venus, my dear, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? I don't know. From all her strange "fashionable" outfits she has created, this has by far been the worst in my book. It's lumpy, unflattering in all the wrong places, and it's awkwardly skanky. Maybe she's too busy thinking about her upcoming matches that she hasn't had time to notice how she looks? Let's hope so.
And now, probably the saddest news for me?
Finding out that your Zodiac sign has changed. I've never been too into the whole Zodiac, "finding your perfect match," astrological personalities and all...but still...who wouldn't be bothered if you've always been thinking you were a LEO all your life. So I've been reading those sections of my magazines for nothing?? Well, I guess it's time to welcome the new me. Hello, Cancer.
Cancer: July 20-Aug.10
Your new qualities: the tenacity with which they protect their loved ones.
Yea, okay. I've always been protecting...? Hmm...I guess...
Refer to your new sign with open arms...right... in this link:
