Apparently, the flavor of today's algorithm is furries. So many furries. (No hate on em. It's just not my thing.)

Why do all the other Reapers look like the Leviathan but then they were building that one Reaper that looked like a human? Also like how weird would that thing have looked in action? Just a big old dude floating through space making weird Reaper noises. Genuinely always thought that one was just a tiny bit baffling. But then again Mass Effect really is the definition of a flawed masterpiece. Sometimes it reminds me of the sequel Star wars trilogy in that we are telling three separate stories and all of the writers appear to be communicating with each other through strung up soup cans And made up languages on occasion.
But now I will spend my night giggling at the thought of a giant dude just floating through space making the Reaper horn noise.

Okay. Look. My feelings on Udina are only slightly less complicated than my feelings on Miranda. There are things about Miranda that irk me, but I also understand her character. Udina is somewhat the same way. I get why he does the things that he does, he just annoys me.
BUT it would have been nice if they had made clearer his motivations for making the deal with Cerberus in ME3. I, who has nearly made a hobby out of willfully diving into Mass Effect lore rabbit holes, understand that he was desperate. You know, Earth was burning and he's always had a chip on his shoulder about the way the Council treats humanity. He's suddenly found himself the most powerful political figure in humanity but it feels like he can't do anything with it. I get that. But it's also easy to miss in the game because I'm fucking busy. I'm Commander Shepard and everything is on fire!!
Anyway. I also understand that the development of ME3 was kind of a shit show. As someone who beat it within the first 72 hours of the original launch before the existence of the extended cut, definitely obvious to me. And I could just be calling out how stupid I am. Maybe they made it super obvious and I just missed it.
(Honestly, I dislike Tevos and Valern more but that's a rant for another post.)
Was I happy to shoot him? Of course. But that was all anger left over from Mass Effect 1. Where does this man get the audacity and/or the authority to ground a Spectre? Hell, where does he have the authority to boss around a soldier? I'm sorry, unless your name is Steven Hackett, you don't get to tell me what to do. You're not my space dad!

I think I've said this before but Shepard is potentially, depending on how you look at the timeline, 33 when they die to save the galaxy. :) So, maybe. It's one of those things where we could be potentially assigning intent far beyond what the creators envisioned. But wouldn't it be so awesome?
If Commander Shepard is an allegory for Christ does that make David Anderson God

Contrary to what the Tumblr algorithm seems to think, I'm not sad. I can't be sad because I'm replaying the Citadel DLC. I can't be sad when I'm punching my clone and dancing in public with my sniper boyfriend.

LOL So I have a rare bone disorder called Multiple Hereditary Exostoses which is characterized by benign bone tumors growing in my joints and other growth plates (to put in easy to understand terms). Coming across this on my feed was hilarious. while I'm just innocently scrolling through Tumblr looking for Mass Effect content. Feeling so attacked by the algorithm. lol
Anyways. Osteochondromas is what I've been told my bone tumors are called in case anyone is curious about that. lol 0/10. Don't recommend. Your liver will not appreciate the amount of tylenol you potentially take in a given week.
Tumblr media
wow thanks. google search ai never ceases to amaze

Given that sleep is my greatest, my elusive foe, I regularly find myself deep in the weeds on my various fandoms. Thus, I find myself at some ungodly hour reading Mass Effect wiki articles and thinking about the Citadel DLC again. And HOW DARE the Council tell my to my face that the Reapers aren't a big deal but then secretly discuss the Reapers being a big deal. I get no fucking respect around here.
I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF GARRUS'S MOM HAD A NAME! I fell in the rabbit hole again!

Going back through a story that I abandoned almost two years ago because of my at times unmanageable depression to discover three things:
I wrote 128k words of this novel.
It's not as bad as I thought it was.
I don't remember naming any of these characters.
I'm sure there are people out there who understand the struggle.

Seriously, though. The Reapers engaging in psychological warfare makes me want to punch that little AI shitfuck that lectures you at the Crucible. Little asshole is like, "Oh, don't be mad at the Reapers. They're just doing their job. It's not personal." Just doing their job doesn't involve broadcasting images of their victory over a race's outer colonies to that race's homeworld in advance of their arrival! What do you mean?? It's not personal? Harbinger fucking HATES me.
It also makes me want to glass any planet that has a Leviathan on it because this is their fault. They created the AI that created the Reapers -- and irritated me at the end of the game. Frankly, the fact that we'll go into the next Mass Effect game and probably forget that the pre-Reapers exist is insane. If I go back to writing fanfiction, it will only be because I'm so mad that we're just letting the things that created the Reapers just fade into obscurity.

Am I ever going to write fanfiction for semi-public consumption? No. I'm not on enough anxiety medication for that. (I'm not on any. I know that's a problem.) Does this stop me from writing a 6k word detailed outline for one? Obviously not. I don't make good decisions.
None of you can judge me. We've all been there.
