Not much can be added to this post. If you ever need a lift, or some motivation, here it is from the team at @crossfit ------------------ 🤳🏼@crossfit_suasponte: This is Sarah. Sarah grew up an athlete, running throughout most of her life. A number of years ago, Sarah was diagnosed with a debilitating motor neuron disease called PLS that left her unable to do the thing she loved so much. With some improvement in her motor control over the last few years, Sarah has been able to incorporate yoga and stationary bike into her daily routine. But Sarah missed the camaraderie and push she had gotten from her running community. Prompted by her brother and looking for something that would get her out of her basement and off her bike, she started doing some research into CrossFit for adaptive athletes. About 5 months ago, we were lucky enough to have Sarah walk through our doors. Over these last 5 months, we’ve worked with Sarah and watched her tap into her inner CrossFit athlete. Starting from only dumbbells and seated work, Sarah can now do full squat cleans, power snatches, box step-ups and so much more. She is currently signed up and doing all of the CrossFit Open. Her dedication and determination to continually push herself and go beyond all limits and expectations motivates everyone around her. A great story from @crossfit about a guy who made a huge life change and is reaping the rewards. Much respect! . #mawaho #mensfashion #menslifestyle #menlookinggood #manliness #manup #beingaman #beingadad #gettingfit #fitness #love #instagood #picoftheday #follow #summer #instadaily #igers #lifestyle ------------------ “I’ve been sick for so long that I think I owe it to myself to get well.” - @sagapolutele_al was always the “big guy.” As a result of poor eating and drinking habits, he weighed as much as 485 lb. after college. - A few years ago, Sagapolutele suffered a heart attack, and treatment left him with three stents. He also had sciatic nerve pain, a herniated disk and spinal stenosis in two parts of his lower lumbar region. - After multiple doctors told him he needed to lose weight, a desperate Sagapolutele saw a gastric-bypass surgeon. When a good friend questioned whether Sagapolutele had done everything possible to lose the weight naturally, Sagapolutele admitted he hadn’t. - A year and a half ago, Sagapolutele started one-on-one sessions with Dorian Shockey, owner of @crossfitresurgens in Atlanta, Georgia. Though Sagapolutele had tried other gyms in the past, this was like talking to a friend, he said. He eventually progressed to the affiliate’s beginners course, then regular classes. - The results speak for themselves. When Sagapolutele started #CrossFit, he weighed 422 lb. Today, he’s down to 268 lb., just 18 lb. shy of his goal weight.
