THIS TRAILERS ARE SO INTENSE!

My thoughts on these memories its that this are placed in the first summer vacation (the name Endless Summer makes me believe so) they reunited after he graduatted from military school and she goes to the university! But I can't stop think about the fact that he never knew how to approach her romantically, even if he was sure she was going to reciprocated his feeling with the fear she would only see him as a Gege. This is him testing the waters (or just unable to pretent he isn't in love with her anymore) and going crazy seeing her responding to it. BUT maybe he was already "the villain"/or in the first stages of his plan to get where we know he is now?

Also his graduation and pink promise memories are making me giggle so much! You have NO IDEA!

Upon seeing Scarlet (she cover the trailer in her YouTube channel!) translations in the others languages makes me think about he is kind of mad/sad with MC upon this conversation. Because if he is complainning that he is stuck in the gege role because of her, this means she blantaly confessed to him but was also escared that he would reject her BECAUSE of the Gege role? Like, this is stressful, if so they're "stuck" and unable to express their own feeling because of this AND IM NOT HAVING POOR COMUNICATION TROPE with Gege, I REFUSE.

I just noticed something, the ring in Caleb's hands looks like the one that the guy Ayel's meet at the Nest, or is just me? I'll look it just to confirm!!!

THOUGHTS ON CALEB'S TRAILERS 🤔

We don't have much of content but I'll try my best to summarize my thoughts and theories about our Colonel.

Where do I even begin with? 🤔 In this trailer we're reintroduced to Caleb as a Farspace Fleet Colonel but at the same time he still is the Caleb we know? This trailer isn't in chronological order because of the necklace, we see him being tortured or "training" (I highly doubt it but if he is so determined to save MC he would put himself through everything, right,?) it can go as far as a punishment for failing his mission (in the report we can see there they are "optimal weapon to destroy one another"or if they know he is a spy.

Or maybe it's just a nightmare he used to have when he first moved to Skyhaven. I think he let himself get caught/is working as a Spy for Ever (or whoever might be), we now know he is a experiment as well because it literally says "23rd neural control experiment" plus the mecanical arm but since when he has that? After the explosion? We will have to wait to discover. But it doesn't seem to appear when he wear his uniform.

But then it changes to this dreaming place that is meant to be warm and he ask if MC/us don't recognize him but right after he is the cold Colonel that isn't acquaintance with nobody making us believe that he deceived us and this is his true self? Why MC/we are in his apartment? Why does he need to tell this so cold-hearted as if he needs to make sure that the person we knew all along was just a facade?

Maybe he is being watched?

His intent here is clear: protect MC/Us was always his goal but something when wrong and he thought that the only way to achieve his goal was to became a villain or being close enough to them.

He came back as the Colonel of the Farspace Fleet to do what exactly? We don't know and also the spaceship name could give us more context but we don't have this information yet. If this is his mission right after the explosion, where were they going? This investigation seems his way of discovering why MC/we are there in the first place, he makes clear that other people have eyes or her and if we cooperate, we won't get hurt (MC is wearing the same uniform because...). But what if he is saying more with this? When the interrogation is over he says he is back but he makes sure to say that we don't know him anymore and now he is saying he is back? What if someone is controlling his mind, erasing memories and making him believe in things that didn't happen?

Right after he admits he went through so much and was so painfully suffocating but he admits he isn't the one who he used to be but it will be worth it because he will put an end to this nightmare.

He mumbles and falls on her shoulder asking to go home is what makes me think there is something really wrong with him and he doesn't have a clue about it. Maybe it is the arm? Someone controlling him? Or him trying to not obey makes him weak?

The kindled moments of the LSP makes me believe that he is being watched. This car is suspicious also, he acts the same before the explosion and it seems like he wants to tell her but he can't, almost seems like he put himself in this position to take all the attention. His words are harsh but they're true, he is honestly telling her that he knows he knows all of his mistakes and that he will make them right, as long as MC is by his side. After all, he is only doing it to protect her.

First off all, why MC vision is blurring? Here it seems like he "forgave" him, this sweet kiss on his eyebrow got him so off guard. But here Caleb is being more sincere and asking her to share the weight of the choices with him because he can't stand them by himself any more.

What you guys think? We have a Villain or he still is our Caleb?

I'll wait for the other cards, maybe we get more on the Companions and memories and hopefully we get a little more content about him. I'm really looking forward to Caleb!

LET'S TALK ABOUT CALEB

I know that Jan 22 seems really far but I swear we will blink and he will be here. I'm excited as someone who has been enjoying this game since I started playing and finally experiencing a new LI has me anticipating his release more. But I have two things I would like to talk about it.

First about his voice, no disrespect to the voice actor but I never thought much about it, we see him so quick in the gameplay that I never thought too much but eventually discovered that he would comeback as a LI and then my interest in him started, seeing everyone's theory about him and what references we had in game was Interesting.

The nickname thing, maybe it's a case of reference and I simply don't have it. After seeing a discussion about it and thinking more I came to the conclusion that could be a case similar to Sylus. We're Sylus calls MC/Us "kitten" right away and then "sweetie" but we know that he is being playfull in the first one and serious in the second so maybe Caleb will be similar?

Also as much as I like to see all the languages when it's possible, I don't compare them in my head because I'm no fluent in Chinese (but willing to chance this as soon as possible) but I do have the reference to understand the meaning that Gege brings and it's infuriating that those who grew up with anime and k-pop are suddenly unable to do this connection. Like, common guys, really? I don't have Honorifics in my mother tongue, this is really a matter of reference.

I wanna share something that I thought about. So, we know that Infold/PG has another company to take care of localization, so we have a few scenarios but since Caleb was in the game since the beta (in 2023, not sure which month) we don't know when they recorded the lines, right? So I'm willing to give a chance and see if he has improved since then. Because I saw a lot of people complaining that he is robotic and emotionless but I wonder if he even got to see what he was dubbing. Can't speak for all companies but sometimes the VA only has lines in front of them and depends on the Director to give them the background necessary to deliver the line and what is happening. Let's not forget that the VA doesn't decide anything, they're directed by someone who tells them what they need to do. So, I can't blame him and if it still doesn't work for me, I'll just stop to pull for him!
