Face Recognition ALPHA available for MATRIX OS
Hey Creators!
We’ve just launched the Alpha version of Face Recognition for MATRIX OS, which can be deployed and leveraged by your IoT applications built with the MATRIX Creator. Our Face Recognition technology integrates seamlessly into any IoT app development on the MATRIX Platform. Some key features include:
Train Faces
Recognize Faces
List Faces
Delete Faces
youtube
Usage with MATRIX OS
To use Face Recognition with MATRIX OS, you have to first make sure you’ve upgraded to version 0.11 or above.
Basic Setup
You’ll need to update your matrix packages, so just make sure to follow the upgrade procedure here: https://matrix-io.github.io/matrix-documentation/upgrades/
Train
Training Face Recognition with MATRIX OS is pretty simple. Kick-off “train” mode using an event, or with an already pre-built app, and then stand in front of the camera.
Trained Faces
After training, you can always retrieve a list of trained faces that are stored for your user account.
Remove a Trained Face
Removing a trained face is as simple as adding one. Just simply call the recognition service to and the un-train method to remove the trained face.
Usage: Recognition & Threshold Setting
There are a few ways to leverage the MATRIX Face Recognition Technology. The first way is to specifically look for someone in the trained database of users. You can see a simple example of how this is done below. The MATRIX Recognition Service returns a set of matches in order of distance. Threshold is still something we have yet to further define, our example just shows an extremely basic implementation at the moment.
