Reunion
Whumpeee and Caretaker were in captivity together for years and Whumpee always did their best to look after Caretaker, who was younger than them, even sacrificing their own chance at escape so Caretaker could get out. Years later, Whumpee does get out and tracks Caretaker down, collapsing into their arms, injured and sick but oh-so relieved.

A Whumpee screaming out "MOM!", "DAD!", etc to a parental Caretaker as they're in danger.
Cue the parental Caretaker's parental instincts kicking in, and proceeding to destroy whoever harmed their kid.

Okay, real talk. There's been a lot of talk about how whumpy old Disney movies are. and while i wholeheartedly agree. There's one i don't really see talked about. And that's 1973's Robin Hood. That movie was my first whump awakening and is quite possibly singlehandedly responsible for instilling my love of certain tropes.
caught in a burning building
near drowning
imprisonment
starvation
jailbreak gone wrong And if you think that's a lot. you should see the cut version of the ending. Where Robin Hood was seriously injured escaping the castle and Prince John hunts him and Maid Marian down. Only for King Richard to arrive just in the nick of time. (Youtube link to the cut ending if anyone's interested in watching it) https://youtu.be/tA-ZeYxCJPM?si=lgJ5CQ0WC9V22WXQ
Even as a kid, watching that version of the ending on the special features, I was like "Why did they cut this? this is incredible!" (Here's hoping Disney has the balls to put that ending in the remake)

Leader and Medic were a couple, but could never have kids of their own. Somehow, they find themselves the surrogate parents of the team's youngest recruit; Whumpee. And then, Whumpee got taken. Every single day, Leader was sent a video by their Arch-Nemesis, Whumper. Showing Whumpee suffering. At first, there's a fire in Whumpee's eyes in every video as they tell Leader they'll be alright. But the more time passes, that fire slowly gets extinguished. till Whumpee is a quivering, bloodied mess staring vacantly in to space. When Whumpee is finally rescued, it's impossible to keep Leader out of Medbay, they plant themselves at whumpee's bedside; doing anything and everything they can to comfort their kid.
When Whumpee finally wakes up, they find themselves in a medical bed, cradled against a sleeping Leader's chest like they're the most precious thing in the world.

Whumpee and Caretaker have been friends for years, both secretly in love with and pining for the other. Whumpee gets taken by Whumper, then rescued and while in the hospital, loopy on painkillers and half-asleep. they tell Caretaker that they love them. Caretaker is surprised, but doesn't believe it because Whumpee
- is on *all* the Painkillers. - has been through massive trauma - Is half-asleep when they say it.
So when Whumpee wakes up properly and doesn't seem to remember the confession, Caretaker doesn't bring it up. Until like six months later, Whumpee says it again, wide awake, completely lucid and having been to a few therapy sessions. And Caretaker finally says it back

Robot Whump scenario
A Damaged coolant line puts Robot Whumpee in a state akin to Fever in a human. Human Caretaker replaces the coolant line and tops up coolant levels, then all they can do is sit with their scared, delirious friend while the coolant circulates Whumpee's system.

aftermath of statue curses
Let's be honest. We all love a good "Turned to stone" or "Turned to ice" curse right? The angst of a caretaker finding a whumpee like that is just *Chef's Kiss* so good. But we're really snoozing on the aftermath. of what happens to poor Whumpee when the curse is broken. Seriously;
Atrophy or weakness of the muscles.
Gravel Rash everywhere. (for the stone curse)
Frostbite EVERYWHERE (for an Ice curse)
frequently recurring chills (both, Stone is still cold y'all.)
incredible disorientation or dizziness.
coming out of the statue starved and dehydrated.
Whumpee collapses into Caretaker's arms the minute the curse is broken.
Coughing up particles of whatever they were encased in.
Whumpee is desperate for the Caretaker not to leave them, ever. Especially if they were somewhat conscious inside the statue

caretaker cleaning the whumpee’s face.
i love this because it could go in so many different directions.
what’s on the face? is it streaked with tears, sticky trails on the skin? is it bloodstained? is it sweaty from nightmares or bouts of fever?
how does caretaker clean it? can they do a good job, or do they just have their hand, smearing blood around and making it worse the more they try?
do they have a wet cloth? warm, to wipe at the dried tears, or maybe cool, to soothe whumpee’s flushed and sweaty skin?
is whumpee awake? do they gaze at caretaker gratefully, savoring this moment of comfort?
are they out of it — glazed eyes, parted lips, in the throes of pain or sickness, only distantly aware of the sensation of someone touching their face?
or are they completely unconscious? is caretaker taking advantage of whumpee’s brief respite to clean their skin?

Irondad and Spiderson vibes from this one
Caretaker has a high-end job, but the second whumpee needs attention, they drop everything in a blink to take care of them.
Meeting? “Cancel it.”   Event they were hosting? “Push it back a few days. Actually, no. A week.”
“That important person can wait, I’m turning my phone off. The ring might wake whumpee up.”

Magical Mind Control that completely shuts down a Whumpee's mind. leaving them a obedient shell when "Activated" by Whumper. and in a deep, magical sleep when "Deactivated." When Caretaker finds them and rescues them, it takes days for Whumpee to come out from under Whumper's magical influence.
Post Rescue timeline: Days 1-4; Whumpee just floats in darkness. It's quiet, heavy and blissful. Day 5: Whumpee becomes distantly aware of a voice talking to them. it's not Whumper, but comforting none the less. Day 8: Whumpee manages to open their eyes a little. but everything is blurry. Someone's holding them, a hand is in their hair, Whumpee doesn't quite know who it is, but they know they trust this person more than anyone else in the world. Day 12: A light goes off in Whumpee's brain like a lighthouse in pea soup fog. Caretaker! It's Caretaker who's with them. they wish they could speak Caretaker's name, but they're just so Sleepy, they don't have the energy.
Day 13: Whumpee comes to breifly when Caretaker's gently spoon-feeding them some soup. giving Caretaker a feeble smile. Day 15: Whumpee finally wakes up clear-headed and lucid to a teary-eyed Caretaker, hoarsely whispering "Hey."

Cold water to a whumpee who just woke up after fainting from heatstroke
Hot broth to a whumpee who hasn’t eaten anything substantial in a long time and has trouble keeping most food down
Hot broth, plain oatmeal, or okayu to a whumpee who is extremely nauseous

will always be screaming, crying, smiling like a maniac, screeching like a demonic entity and digging my nails into the pillow like a high schooler who got asked out by her crush, every time it’s a scene where whumpee is wounded and is delirious, so when caretaker comes to their rescue, whumpee is so out of it that they don’t even know caretaker is here, in front of them now. so caretaker has to grab whumpee’s shoulders, or cup whumpee’s face, and keep calling whumpee’s name repeatedly, they also have to repeatedly tell whumpee to look at them and that they’re here and they’re real.
“hey, hey, it’s me, it’s just me. look at me. at me, (insert character’s name). I’m here. I’m here now. you’re gonna be okay. I’m taking you home, it’s alright. hush, I got you. I got you”
also bonus if whumpee — on the verge of losing consciousness — weakly and quietly asks if caretaker is real this time (because whumpee has hallucinated that caretaker comes to help them so many times in the past) and caretaker has to do their best to reassure whumpee that they’re real and that they’re really here, even if there’s a chance that whumpee is too out of it to understand a word caretaker is saying.
“I am real. I am here, hey, I am here. I’ve got you now. it’s okay. you’re gonna be okay. I’ve got you.”
like… it’s the repetition that kills me, the reader, but please never stop using this type of repetition in your works when it comes to whump, angst, hurt/comfort.

Team whump Idea
A team of heroes hunted down one by one, held in seperate cells. but cells all in a line. Communicating while captured is something akin to Chinese whispers. At one point, the only two not captured are youngest, and Leader. The entire team prays to whatever deity that they believe in that youngest keeps managing to elude the Whumpers. Leader on the other hand?
Well, they all know Leader isn't coming for them. Leader is presumed dead, and has been for over a year.
One day, Medic is dragged from their cell and never brought back. The Team doesn't know what happened and can only speculate. Some hope that Medic found a way out. Others say that death would have been kinder. And then, Just when they've nearly all given up hope. who should burst in to the rescue? Leader! with Youngest and Medic in tow. Battered and Battle-Hardened, Leader thoroughly kicks Whumper's ass to the whooping, cheering and applause of the others. That's their team. their Family that Whumper's held in cages for nearly two years and Leader is one ticked-off Parental figure.
