Thrifting is so exciting because you never know what you’re going to find. It’s like a treasure hunt. I love old things, especially ceramics, so when I found this vintage ceramic lamb for only $0.99, I was ecstatic! It inspired me to try my hand at drawing these little lambs in a vintage, kitschy style. I enjoyed working on these so much, I had to make three. Which one is your favorite?

When we were kids, my cousins, sisters and I used to hang out in our Grandma’s berry tree all the time. It wasn’t the biggest tree, but it was big enough for two or three of us to stand in at once. We would talk, laugh, and eat the berries under the Summer sun for hours. We’re all older now, and, unfortunately, the berry tree has been gone for some time now, but these memories are ones I hold very dear. With the Winter on it’s way, I have been thinking back to our Grandma’s berry tree and thought drawing this little bear eating berries in preparation for it’s hibernation would be a fun project to work on. Fun it was. I can still taste the berries and feel the beating sun from these days so long ago… Such happy times they were. And although the berry tree is gone and we can no longer eat it’s delicious fruit, the memories we had of this tree fill up my spirit like a warm, freshly baked berry pie made by Grandma herself.
