I was re-watching the Incredibles and noticed something about Bob’s boss

his office says so much. It’s blank and lifeless like everyone else’s, showing that he’s just as much a cog as Bob. 

All clocks have the same timezone, meaning the company probably isn’t international and rather small, or that his job isn’t important enough for him to keep track of timezones, but he likes to pretend that he’s a big shot. It also provides the illusion that time itself is stuck in this place

The quarterly chart to the right shows a steady, unending stagnancy. No growth or decline, just an eternal mediocrity.

Bob had to bring a folding chair with him, meaning that his boss doesn’t have a guest chair which implies he doesn’t speak with people often.

All he has on his desk is an empty calendar, a pencil sharpener, and a form for Bob to sign. 

He’s not truly doing anything beyond looking prim.

Bob’s office meanwhile is cramped with books and computers and a filled out calendar.

This again illustrates that Bob and his coworkers are the one running things, while his boss has little to nothing to do, and is probably a simple middle manager deemed incapable of doing the technical stuff.

Everything about this company is dead and stagnant, nothing changes and the work isn’t that important. Everyone is kept in cubical and even the boss stays in dreary isolation. Nothing anything the company does to further itself matters and it’s all useless tedium, which is why the Boss is literally and metaphorically a small man.

A stray dog in Bolivia joined a monastery and became a monk. The resident monks of St. Francis Monastery, named for the patron saint of animals, decided to adopt a dog they call ‘Friar Bigotón’ from the Cold Nose Project, which hopes the dog’s story will now inspire more monasteries to take in homeless pets.
