AITA for joking around with my god?

we just finished working on a mission together and i sent a golden step litter to pick him up because he was going to walk for a week to get home. i got in and saw he had fallen asleep. i had to stop myself from screaming because he was so cute and looked so happy and i wanted him to always feel happy. he woke up and i sat next to him. the seat was made for one person so it felt very romantic with all the red curtains and the fact my arm was on his shoulders.

now i don’t know what i was thinking, but i accidentally said “gege, want to get married?” PLEASE NOTE it wasn’t accidentally as in i didn’t want to marry him, but i didn’t want him to be disgusted like i knew he would be if i said that.

he was extremely shocked and flustered, and i instantly knew i’d made a mistake. i said i was just joking, and he said “you can’t joke about that kind of thing”. he seemed to be thinking about something the rest of the ride but assured me it was about the mission. He looked unhappy.

now i already know i messed up by even talking to him, as i am unworthy to be in his presence. but how much am i in the wrong here.

Edit: forgot to mention that i’ve had a crush on him for 800 years and he thinks he only met me a few months ago
