CRETACEOUS Period World Map (old cartography style)

IGUANODON 200th ANNIVERSARY

Iguanodon was named at the start of 1825. 200 years ago and just one year after the first dinosaur Megalosaurus was described. As an anecdote, it was misspelled as ¨Iguanadon¨ at first. In feb 10th of that year it was formally published for the first time.

In this Iguanodon appreciation post you can see how our perception of it evolved over the decades, a scene from ¨Antediluvian¨, and the bestiary of the dissection video of the same animated short.
