the most magical place on earth
summary: visiting disney world with marcello requested by @laurenjbb
you’d been in miami for a few days, visiting marcello’s family with him. you’d been enjoying the time getting you’d been able to spend with marcello’s family, and were still so grateful that they’d accepted you as their own since you and marcello had been together.
it was coming up on the end of your stay in miami, and you were getting your things packed up to get ready to go the next day.
“so, i have a proposal, if you’re interested.” marcello said to you, coming back into your room.
“what’s up?” you asked him.
“how about we extend our trip a few more days, and drive up to orlando tomorrow, then fly back home from there?”
“oh, that sounds fun! we could go to disney!” you cheered.
“that was my exact idea.” marcello said with a smile.
the next morning, you and marcello were heading out of miami, and hit the road to orlando. once you finally arrived after a few hours drive, you checked into the hotel marcello rented for the next couple of nights. you got to your room, freshened up, and went out to dinner before turning in for the night.
you woke up early to get the most out of your first day in orlando. you went down to the hotel lobby for breakfast, before heading back up to your room to get ready for the day. you dressed in your most comfortable shoes and light clothes, preparing for a long day with a lot of walking. you were excited, to say the least. you hadn’t been to disney world in a long time, and this was the first time you were getting to go with marcello.
once you finally arrived at the park, you made it through the gates, and made your way onto main street. you stood in front of cinderella’s castle, taking obligatory photos in front of if, of and with each other.
“alright, where do we wanna start?” marcello asked, grabbing a park map from a nearby kiosk.
“i’m up for anything!” you said, studying the map with him. you finally decided on tomorrowland as your starting point, and made your way to that area of the park.
throughout the day, you and marcello were partaking in everything your hearts desired. fortunately, it was semi-off season, so the crowds weren’t too big, and you weren’t having to wait in too many long lines. you’d ridden a bunch of rides, eaten a ton of junk food, buying overpriced apparel and mouse ears. you were also lucky enough to catch a few of the characters around the park to take photos with them. it felt like you were kids again, having the time of your lives and living out a wonderful dream.
once you finally made it around the entirety of the park, you and marcello found a spot back near cinderella’s castle to get a good view of the fireworks at the end of the day. you marveled at the display, snapping a few pictures as they lit up the sky.
after you left the park, and finally got back to your hotel, you and marcello were both beyond tired. you flopped down on the bed when you got back up to your room, immediately slipping out of your shoes.
“god, i don’t think i’ve walked this much in my life.” you groaned. you felt marcello sit on the edge of the bed, placing your feet in his lap as he began to massage them.
“same.” he laughed. “but we had so much fun!” it’s been a long time since i’ve been to disney, but i was glad to get to go back with you.” he said, and you heard a smile in his voice.
“me too.” you agreed. you sat up, moving to sit next to him on the edge of the bed. “i’m glad you had the idea to extend our trip.” you said softly, pressing a kiss to his lips and he smiled at you. just then, your moment was interrupted by the sounds of your stomachs growling. you and marcello bursted into a fit of laughter.
“well, i guess we should get something to eat.”
“can we order room service? i don’t think my legs are strong enough to carry me downstairs and to a restaurant.” you sighed.
“i’m with you there.” he laughed. you pulled the room service menu out of the nightstand and looked over it before deciding what you wanted. once your food was delivered, you and marcello lounged in bed, eating and watching tv. you and him spent another day or so in orlando, taking in additional sites and visiting other tourist attractions in the city. it was the perfect end to a perfect vacation, and you and marcello were having the best time.

right person, wrong time
summary: after your break up, you and marcello can't stop wondering if you'd made a mistake. requested by anonymous.
“so, i guess this is it then?” you said quietly, avoiding marcello’s gaze. you knew as soon as you locked eyes with him, you were going to immediately start crying.
“y/n, i’m so sorry. i really don’t want this, but i know it’s what’s best.” he said to you. “i just can’t promise that i’m going to be able to give you the attention that you deserve.”
“i understand. i honestly had a feeling this was coming, but i didn’t want to spend too much time thinking about it.” you sniffled, letting the tears finally fall.
he hugged you tight, placing one last kiss on your lips before stepping off your porch. you watched as he drove down your street and out of your life.
you and marcello had been together for just over a year, but as he got busy with life and his new-found star status, it was becoming more and more clear to you that you didn’t fit in it anymore. you were caught between a rock and hard place, as you wanted nothing more for marcello to succeed. you were so proud of him with how much growth he’d had over the last few years, with starting on snl and performing sold out stand up shows all around the world. but but you were also selfish, and wanted to keep him to yourself forever.
after your breakup, you took a few months to bounce back to a place where you were ready to date again. your friends had been begging you to go out with them, as they wanted to set you up with a guy they knew. the minute you finally accepted their offer, they were over the moon. you were hesitant to accept, but you knew you needed to move on. even if this was just a one night thing.
you went out with your friends, meeting the guy they had for you. he ended up being really nice, and you hit if off well. you exchanged numbers, and went out on a few dates afterwards.
in his corner of the world, marcello was not happy about it. marcello was out with some friends, and you came up in conversation.
“she’s dating again.” a friend of his said to him. this was a mutual friend that you met through marcello, and despite your breakup, they’d stayed friends with both of you.
“yeah, i saw.” marcello said, noting that he’d seen your posts with this new guy on instagram. he downed two more shots before ordering another drink and walking away from the bar. he found an empty table, sitting down, holding his head in his hands.
“you okay?”
“it’s not really my place to be upset. i was the one who ended things, and i can’t tell her what to do with her life. but i really don’t like seeing her out with other guys.” marcello sighed.
“you have a right to your feelings, regardless. i know how much you meant to her, and how much she meant to you. how much you still mean to each other. it was a hard breakup and you both moped around for months.”
“i think i still may be moping.” marcello said. “i miss her so much.” he spent the rest of the night at the bar, drinking to almost blacking out, before the group he was with cut him off. they made sure he got home safely and ready for bed, ending up spending the night to make sure he was sleeping soundly.
back at your place, you were in a similar head space as marcello. you liked this guy well enough, but you knew that you weren’t ready for another relationship. you were fighting with your feelings, waiting for him to come over to your place for lunch.
“hey y/n.” he said when you answered the door. you pulled him in for a hug, avoiding his lips pressing against yours. he noticed your shift in demeanor, a concerned look on his face. “everything okay?” he asked, and you shook your head.
“not really. i need to talk to you about something.” you said, watching him sit down on your couch.
“oh no.”
“look, before this goes any further, i need to be honest with you. i just got out of a relationship, and i don’t feel like i’m quite ready for anything official just yet. i’ve so enjoyed the time we’ve spent together, but it’s not fair for me to keep this going if i’m not 100% in this.” you admitted to him.
“i understand. i’m sorry this didn’t work out, because i’ve enjoyed being with you too. but, thank you for being honest.” he said, getting up to hug you. he kissed you good bye before walking out of your front door. you shut the door behind him and moved to your couch. you grabbed your phone from the coffee table, opening instagram. you looked at the line of all the new stories, marcello being the first one listed. you tapped on his icon, tapping through his stories of videos and pictures of him and some writers at snl as they were working on the upcoming show.
you smiled to yourself, seeing a mirror selfie he’d posted in the mix. you tapped the little heart to send a like before closing out of instagram.
you then got a notification, a text message coming through, a friend of yours inviting you out for drinks later that night. you agreed to go, not wanting to spend another night at home alone. that night, a few drinks in, you heard a familiar voice over the crowd and the music. you turned your attention in that direction, eyes landing on marcello, who was only a few seats away from you at the bar.
you found yourself staring, watching him talk to the people he was with. you heard his laugh over the music, butterflies fluttering in your stomach. he had a wide smile on his face, the same one that always made you swoon when you were together. you watched as he turned towards the bar to order another drink, eyes landing on you as he turned. you waved at him, his smile growing wider as he focused on you. the bartender slid him a fresh drink, and he moved closer to you.
“hi.” he said shyly.
“hi.” you repeated. “how have you been?”
“okay. i’ve been focusing on work mainly as to not fall into a deep depression.” he admitted to you.
“i feel that.” you huffed a laugh. you and marcello ended up spending a majority of the night together, talking and laughing together like you always did. it felt good to be able to see and hang out with him again. you’d been trying hard at avoiding each other, especially in the early stages of your breakup.
seeing and spending time with you that night made marcello realize how much he really missed you. and it made you realize the same thing.
a few months went by since that night, and you and marcello had seen each other what felt like a million times since then. every time you saw each other, it was as if you were seeing each other for the first time again. and all of your feelings for each other were flooding back.
“well, well. here we are again.” marcello said to you. you were both at the bar where you met for the first time. you glanced around, taking in all the same decor, a replay of the night you first met marcello flashing in your mind. he was as handsome that night as he was standing in front of you right now. the same butterflies you had that night fluttering in your stomach now. “can i get you a drink?” he asked, and you nodded. he ordered himself a whiskey, and ordered you your cocktail of choice.
“awe, you remembered.” you said with a smile.
“i’d never forget anything about you.” he winked. you felt like your heart was about to beat out of your chest. the bartender brought you your drinks, you and marcello clinking your glasses together. he watched you intently as you gave him a once over. “you like what you see?” he asked, and you nodded.
“always.” it was dimly lit in the bar, but you could still see a flush rise to his cheeks. he stood there shyly, swirling his glass. “something on your mind?” you asked him.
“i miss you.” he said abruptly.
“but, we’ve been seeing each other so often.”
“y/n, i miss you.” he repeated. he turned to face you, eyes instantly locked on yours. you felt your jaw drop slightly as you processed what he’d just said to you.
“marcello,” you sighed, “you’re the one who ended things.” you reminded him.
“i know. and i’ve been regretting it so much more recently. we’ve been seeing each other and hanging out so often, and it’s making me realize how badly i want to be back with you. need to be back with you.”
“i’ve been thinking the same thing. i’ve tried to start dating again,”
“yeah, i know.” marcello scoffed, rolling his eyes, and you laughed. your hands met at the edge of the bar, you intertwining your fingers with marcello’s as stepped closer to you. before you had a chance to realize what was happening, his lips were pressed against yours.
kissing him was as wonderful as you remembered, your feelings for him finally overflowing in your chest. you wrapped your arms around his waist, pulling him closer into you and deepening the kiss. pulling away to catch your breath, marcello rested his forehead against yours.
“cellito, i don’t wanna ruin the moment, but,” you paused to take another breath, “your work schedule hasn’t exactly changed much since we broke up.”
“i know. but i want to make this work, and i’m going to make this work. i think i was just scared that you were going to get tired of waiting around for me, and find someone else to take my place.”
“no one compares to you.” you said to him. you kissed again, and you felt his lips curve into a smile against yours.
“so? what do you say? will you be my girlfriend again?” he asked, and you immediately nodded.
“yes.” you said, smiling up at him. he pulled you into his chest, embracing you in a tight hug. “i love you.” you said against his chest.
“i love you.” marcello repeated, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
you were glad to know that you and marcello were on the same page, and that you were both willing to give your relationship another try. but, something about this moment, and the love between the two of you, you could feel that this was going to work this time.

new year, new confession
summary: when you attend a new year's eve party together, marcello doesn't waste a moment of the new year without confessing something to you. requested by anonymous.
*h/n = “host’s name”
“hey! are you going to h/n’s tonight?” marcello text you.
“i’ll be there :)” you replied.
“perfect, i can’t wait to see you” he sent back.
h/n was hosting their annual new year’s eve party, and you were at home getting ready for the night. they always hosted the most extravagant celebrations, so you couldn’t wait to ring in the new year with them.
you finished getting ready, and your ride arrived at your house to take you to the party. once you got there, you were immediately welcomed by a number of close friends. you said hello to everyone as you made your way to the kitchen to make yourself a drink. as you stood at the counter mixing yourself a cocktail, you heard a familiar voice calling out your name.
“y/n! you’re finally here!” you turned around and saw marcello walking towards you with open arms.
“marcello!” you cheered in response, falling into his embrace. he hugged to you tight, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek. “how have you been? i feel like i haven’t seen you in forever.” he asked.
“it has been a hot minute. but i’ve been good! just working mostly. how about you?”
“same, just working. i gotta admit, when you didn’t come to my show last weekend, i was kinda upset.” he said to you, a pout pulling on his lip.
“ay, i know. i’m sorry. i really wanted to be there, but i ended up getting called in to work to cover a shift.” you sighed. truthfully, you declined going to his show for a reason that you’d never admit to him out loud.
you and marcello had been close friends for year. and, in a tale as old as time, you ended up catching feelings for him. as your feelings became more and more intense, you began to distance yourself from marcello in fear of rejection of ever letting them slip.
little did you know, marcello felt the same for you. he was hurt that you’d been pulling away from him, and was worried that he’d done something to upset you. he invited you to his stand up show to maybe talk to you and clear things up, see why you’d been so distant. but when you didn’t come, he felt his heart break, wondering if that was going to be end of your friendship. unfortunately, the both of you being too stubborn to say anything, you just kept the feelings inside and pondered if you’d made the other mad.
the entire night, you and marcello were inseparable. you were dancing, mingling, talking, and laughing like there was no one but the two of you at this party. it felt good to be like this with him again, and you cherished these moments. it was the reason you and marcello hit if off so well, and became such good friends.
you excused yourself briefly to go to the bathroom, marcello pouting as slipped out of his arms. you shook your head and laughed, butterflies swarming in your stomach.
“god. he doesn’t even need to try or do it on purpose. he knows just how to make me swoon.” you thought to yourself. you walked into the bathroom, locking the door behind you. you cleaned up your makeup and ran your fingers through your hair, settling your nerves. you didn’t know why being around marcello felt so different tonight, but maybe this was your body telling you to get out of your head and finally tell him how you felt about him.
you took a few minutes to compose yourself in the bathroom before stepping back out into the party. your glance fell on where you were previously sitting, marcello no longer there. you heard his voice off in the distance, and your gaze fell on him with another girl draped over his shoulders.
you were suddenly filled with an intense rage, and you felt heat rising to the top of your head. you bit the inside of your cheek to prevent yourself from screaming as you watched him take her upstairs. you stood frozen in shock, not realizing how much time had passed until someone walked past you and asked if you were okay.
you just shook your head, genuinely too stunned to speak. you finally found the strength to move your legs, walking slowly as your head stopped spinning. marcello reappeared in front of you, anger filling your body again.
“y/n!” he cheered with a smile. you stormed past him, shoving him out of your way as you walked outside of the house. “what the fuck?” he sighed quietly, immediately following you.
you’d made your way down the sidewalk a bit before marcello caught up to you, yelling for you to stop and talk to him.
“i don’t want to talk to you!” you screamed. “i obviously don’t mean shit to you, so why should i continue to waste my time?”
“what happened, what did i do?” he asked, stepping closer to you. you held your hands out, taking a step back.
“don’t give me that. we were having such a good night, then as soon as i walked away you glommed on to the next girl that caught your eye.”
“what are you talking about? we were having a good time. the only girl i’ve been with tonight was you. you were the only person i even cared about seeing tonight.”
“then who was the girl you went upstairs with?” you asked him.
“some friend of h/n. i was in the kitchen making you and i fresh drinks, and she stumbled into me. she was completely wasted, and h/n told me to take her upstairs and put her to bed, so i did. nothing happened. i can’t believe you would ever assume that of me.”
you stood there silently, arms crossed tightly over your chest. “i’m sorry.” you sighed. “i let my feelings get the best of me and i shouldn’t have taken it out on you. that wasn’t fair, and i’m truly sorry.”
“its okay.” marcello said, finally closing the space between you. he placed his hands on your shoulders, squeezing them gently. “can we please just go back inside? it’s been such a good night, and i’ve been enjoying getting to spend time like this with you again.” he asked. you nodded as he wrapped his arm around you shoulder. you nuzzled into his side, hugging him tight.
as you made your way back inside the house, everyone was buzzing as it was nearing midnight. your host was pouring champagne flutes to toast to the new year. you and marcello stood together as the countdown began.
“hey, y/n?” marcello asked, turning to you.
“hmm?”
“i love you.”
you turned to face him, eyes wide, heart pounding in your chest. your mind was racing, feeling overwhelmed by the noise around you.
“FIVE. FOUR. THREE. TWO. ONE. HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
as the clock struck midnight, before you could even register your movement, you pulled marcello into a tight embrace, reaching up to press a kiss to his lips. as fireworks were going off outside, you felt them within you as well. kissing marcello was everything you ever dreamed it would be, and more. you wanted this moment to last forever.
pulling away only to catch your breath, marcello rested his forehead against you, hugging a laugh.
“so, i guess the feeling is mutual?”
“very much so.” you said, kissing him again.
you and marcello stayed at the party for just a little while longer before you were ready to go home. you and marcello made your rounds around the party, saying your good byes to everyone, and wishing them a happy new year. you walked outside hand in hand with marcello, standing on the sidewalk, awaiting the arrival of your uber.
“can i ask you something?” you asked, and he nodded. “how long have you been sitting on that confession?”
“probably about a month or so.” he admitted. “i know i’ve had feelings for you for a while, but they weren’t as strong as they’ve been recently.”
“why did you wait until now to say something?”
“i didn’t want to jeopardize our friendship and make things if you didn’t feel the same. but, seeing how jealous you were earlier at the thought of me being with another girl, i figured it was safe to assume we were on the same page.”
“well, good for me us then.” you laughed. just then, your uber pulled up, stopping just ahead of you on the sidewalk. “you wanna come over?” you asked marcello. he smiled and gave you a nod. you took his hand in yours, climbing into the backseat of the uber. you nuzzled into his side as he held to tight the entire ride back to your place.
you spent a wonderful night together, ringing in the new year together with the consummation of your relationship. the level of intimacy you shared was heightened with the knowledge that both of your feelings for each other were out in the open. you didn’t have to wonder anymore if there was ever going to be something between you. because no there was.
you rested comfortably wrapped in marcello’s arms, his chest was warm against your back. the rhythm of his breathing lulling you into the most peaceful sleep you’d ever known.

jacked and kind
summary: partaking in a tiktok trend with marcello. requested by @laurenjbb
being an influencer, you enjoyed the platform that it came with. you used it to promote the things you believe in, and provide genuine support to the people who followed and supported you. you were also given the opportunity to meet and befriend some amazing people, including your wonderful boyfriend, marcello hernández.
marcello had gathered a following on social media well before you did, as he was using it to expand his audience when it came to the comedy world. watching everything unfold for him, and getting to watch him live out a dream of being on snl, it made you so proud to get to be on the ride with him. you both fortunately had such welcoming and devoted supporters, and it made you happy that they were so loving and accepting of your relationship and the parts you chose to share.
your content was a mixed bag of lifestyle posts, frequent “GRWM” videos, daily vlogs, and other things. of course, you were no stranger to tiktok trends, having taken part in a majority of them. a current trend that you loved were videos of couples to the song slim pickins by sabrina carpenter, where during the line of “a boy who’s jacked and kind,” someone would pick up their partner and hold them on their shoulder. it had taken some convincing, but once marcello finally agreed to do it with you, you were ecstatic.
you set your phone up on the tripod, framing the video how you liked. you filmed a few takes, as the first couple videos were mostly you losing your balance and falling, or marcello not having a good grip on you before lifting you onto his shoulder.
“alright, this one is gonna be it.” marcello laughed before you moved to hit record on your phone. you stood in front of him as the video counted down. you stood in front of marcello, a small squat as he placed his hands on your hips.
the lyrics rang out from the speaker, and marcello lifted you effortlessly onto his shoulder. you laughed as he carried you to the phone, cheering with you sitting on his shoulder. the video ended and marcello put you back down on the floor.
you watched the video over before posting it, and edited it slightly. you smiled down at the screen, sabrina’s voice singing the lyrics was as beautiful as ever, and you and marcello looking as happy as you were made your heart swell.
“we’re so cute.” you laughed before posting the video. you watched your notifications for a while as the interactions started coming in, liking and replying to a few of the comments.
later that night, you and marcello were getting ready for bed. you were in the bathroom cleaning your face, and marcello was lying in bed, scrolling on his phone.
“a boy who’s jacked and kind, can’t find his ass to save my life.” coming from his speaker over and over again. you finished in the bathroom and walked over to the bed, climbing under covers next to marcello. you glanced over his shoulder, seeing the two of you on his screen as he was watching the tiktok over again. you watched as he saved the video to his favorites, smiling to yourself as you laid down.
you felt marcello roll over next to you, his arms finding his normal place around your waist. he held to close, pressing a kiss to the back of your shoulder.
“i love you.” he said softly, nuzzling into the back of your neck.
“i love you.” you repeated. you intertwined your fingers with his, a comfortable silence filling the room as you both began to drift off to sleep.

im really bored at my family new year's party, so im here to ask you, for marcello's comedy shows are there particular tickets to do the meet and greet? or how does it work?
the shows i went to had different tickets options. there were tickets that were just admission to the show, and other tickets that included the m&g.
i think m&g availability may also be venue dependent??? im not sure, but both times i saw him was at improv theaters, and they both and m&gs, and i looked at tickets the shows he recently did in california (just for shits and gigs) that didn't have the option 🤷🏽♀️

in sickness and in health
summary: when you have a bout of food poisoning, marcello switches into caretaker mode and is there for you in every way you need him to be. requested by anonymous. tw: emetophobia
“baby? are you ready to go?” marcello called from the living room.
“just about!” you called back. you spritzed on some perfume and slid into your shoes before hopping down the stairs. “let’s go, i’m starved.” marcello nodded in agreement and the two of you walked out to the car to head to dinner. you were immediately taken to a table, placed your drink and appetizer orders, and perused the menu. this was a restaurant you and marcello frequented, and both had discovered your favorite dishes. however, you were feeling spontaneous tonight, and decided to order something new.
you’d discover later that this was not going to end well for you.
once you got home that night, your stomach was pretty upset. you shrugged it off, assuming it was just because you ate too much or too fast or something. you made sure to drink plenty of water, to get ahead of any potential dehydration.
“you okay?” marcello asked as you moped to bed.
“my stomach really hurts.” you sighed as you laid down. “i don’t know if i ate too much, or if i ate something bad, or what. but i am hurting.”
“im sorry, baby.” marcello said softly, placing his palm on your stomach. the warmth of his hand quickly began soothing your pain.
“it’s okay. i’m just gonna try to sleep it off.” you sighed. you placed your hand on marcello’s cheek, running your thumb across it. “i love you.” you said softly.
“i love you too.” he said with a smile. he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to your lips before lying next to you. his arms remained wrapped around your waist, his thumb mindlessly rubbing your hip, as the two of you began to drift to sleep.
a few hours passed and you were suddenly jolted awake. your stomach was in knots, and it felt like your intestines were being twisted and pulled in every direction. you tried to get out of bed, but as soon as you tried to stand, the pain in your stomach worsened, and quickly became debilitating.
you tried to brace yourself against your night stand, but your palms were so sweaty that they slipped off the edge. you caught yourself before you fell, and pushed through the pain. you stumbled to the bathroom, bracing yourself against the toilet bowl for what you knew was to come. you threw up what felt like every ounce of food and liquid you had in your stomach.
once you finished, you cleaned your face and rifled around under the sink t for something you could take. you found some medicine and immediately popped a few tablets into your mouth. finally letting yourself fall to the floor, you sat against the wall of the tub. the side was cool, and felt good on your back, as you now realized you’d broken a sweat in your episode.
you sat on the floor holding your stomach as the pain waxed and waned. every time you tried to get up to move, the pain would come back. you’d finally accepted that you were too weak to go back to bed, and laid down on the bath mat in front of you.
a few minutes passed, which to you felt like days, when you heard the bathroom door open.
“y/n? are you okay?” marcello asked, flustered as he rushed to your side. his voice was raspy from sleep, and you mentally kicked yourself knowing that you’d woken him up.
“i cant move.” you said, out of breath.
“is it your stomach still?” marcello asked, and it took all you had in you to just nod. “alright, cmon.” he said, placing his hands underneath you. you groaned as he rolled you onto your back, and slid his hands under you to pick you up. he moved carefully as he carried you back to bed. laying you down gently and rubbing your stomach to try and help alleviate the pain. “what can i get you?” he asked.
“nothing, right now. i just took some medicine, and am okay for now. i just hurt really bad.” you said, gritting your teeth as another wave of pain coursed through you. you felt marcello move from your side and heard him as he went back into the bedroom and then down to the kitchen.
“fresh water and some ibuprofen for your head. sit up so you can take them.” he said softly, yet sternly. he helped you sit up and you took the medicine, slowly starting to feel relief.
“thank you.” you said quietly before downing the rest of your water. marcello helped you up from the bathroom floor and back to bed. he sat up with you for a while, making himself readily available for anything you may have needed, until you finally felt yourself fall asleep.
the next morning, you woke up to the sun beaming through your bedroom window. you picked up your head, which felt like it weighed about a thousand pounds, and found the bed empty next to you. you rolled over to your nightstand to find a glass of water and a couple of tablets next to it. you checked your phone and found a text from marcello, confirming that he left the pills and refilled your water glass before leaving to the store. you took the medicine, and text him back, letting him know you were awake and thanking him for the medicine.
you forced yourself out of bed and into the shower, sitting under the water as you let it massage your muscles. your back was sore from heaving the night before, so the warmth of the water felt relaxing against it.
you spent what felt like an hour in the shower, just letting the water wash over you. once you finally got out of the showed, you moved slowly around the bathroom as you got dressed, feeling better in clean pajamas. you were brushing your hair when you heard marcello come into the bedroom, quickly finding you at the counter.
“hey baby. are you feeling any better?” he asked softly.
“a little bit. i’m super sore from all the throwing up i did, but the dizziness has subsided.” you said, turning to face him. you wrapped your arms around his waist and he smiled down at you before pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“are you feeling up to eat?” he asked, placing his hands on your cheeks, rubbing his thumbs across them.
“i know that i need to, but just the thought of food is making me nauseous again.” you sighed.
“i brought you something light. you should at least try to eat.” he suggested, and you nodded. you followed him out to the kitchen and sat at the bar with him. you ate slowly, taking small bites as to not upset your stomach. you ate about a quarter of your meal before you felt uneasy again. figuring it best to not push yourself, marcello took your leftovers and placed them in the refrigerator. he followed you back to your bedroom, and got your next doses of medicine together so you could take them.
marcello spent the rest of the night, and the whole of the next day nursing you back to health. fortunately, your symptoms resolved and you never needed anything stronger than over-the-counter medication. you were sure to thank marcello profusely for taking care of you. it was more than you could have ever asked for.
“you don’t have to thank me. we’re partners, we’re supposed to take care of each other.” he said, resting his head against yours.
“i love you so much.” you said softly.
“i love you so much.” he repeated, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips. he laid down with you as you turned on the tv. the two of you spent the rest of the day in bed, lounging around while you finally started to feel better. marcello continued to be there for you, and get you anything and everything you needed. truly, you hated feeling like a patient in your own home, but you were thankful to have marcello by your side.

just friends
summary: you and marcello had an agreement, but as feelings changed, so did your relationship. requested by anonymous. marcello x singer!reader.
a/n: v mild smut in the beginning, but nothing super graphic.
your relationship with marcello was nothing that you ever saw for yourself. the two of you met via mutual friends in new york. you were both up and coming in your fields, him in comedy and you in music. you first met at an award show, where you were both attending as plus ones with other attendees, then met a few more times at other events you’d both got invited to. the two of you always felt a connection, but never did you really ever act on them.
one night, after many drinks were had at an event (which then lead to more at an after party), marcello rode in the uber with you home to ensure your safe return. you invited him up to your apartment, and the two of you ended up hooking up that night.
neither one of you were in a place where you could commit to a relationship, as you both had jobs that took you all over the world. you both also had your share of failed long distance relationships, so that was something that you didn’t want to do again. however, the sex was too good to not repeat, and after that night, you agreed on a “friends with benefits” arrangement.
never once did you ever imagine that you would’ve found yourself in a place like this, but it ended up working out for you for quite a while. neither you or marcello had to worry about committing to one another, and you got good use out of each other then you needed it. it was a win-win for you both.
“am i still gonna get to see you tonight or are you gonna standing me up?” you text marcello one evening. you had plans to see each other tonight, and it was getting close to time where’d you consider him late.
“ay! i’m sorry. we ended up staying later than anticipated, but i’m leaving now and i’ll stop for food on the way.” he replied.
“perfect :)” you sent back. you set your phone down, tidied up the living room, and freshened up a bit before marcello’s arrival. just as you finished, you heard a knock at the door. your heart skipped a beat at the sound of his knuckles rapping against the door. you took a deep breath before moving to answer, concerned that you were as nervous as you were. you never had butterflies before when he’d come over. that couldn’t be good.
you finally answered the door, marcello leaning against the door frame. his eyes met yours and he flashed you a smile, and it took everything in you to not fall to the floor.
"hi." you said softly, finally inviting him in. he followed your instruction, and you watched as he placed the food bags on the counter. he turned back around to face you, stepping towards you and pulling you into his arms.
his hands quickly found their place on your hips as he pulled you into him, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. he hummed against you, sending vibrations all the way down your spine. “i missed you.” he said, words muffled, his lips stuck to you.
“i just saw you yesterday.” you laughed as his lips traced down your neck.
“24 hours is a long time.” he teased. you leaned your head back, revealing more of your neck as marcello’s lips found your sweet spot. you let out a soft moan, feeling marcello laugh against you. you felt his hands roam up your back, stopping right in the middle. he pulled away from the kiss, and raised a brow at you.
"no bra?" he asked, his hands roaming up your shirt and stopping right at your breasts.
“just for you.” you said with a smirk, shooting him a wink. the tips of his thumbs barely brushed against your nipples, but they sent a shock wave of pleasure up your spine. marcello kissed you again, arms wrapping tightly around your waist.
“jump.” he instructed, out of breath. you followed his orders, jumping into his arms, wrapping your legs around his waist. his hands spread out across your ass, and he gave you a tight squeeze.
he held you tight as he made his way to your bedroom, lips not leaving from yours as he moved. he laid you down on the bed and kissed you hard before standing up. you looked up at him with doe eyes, watching fondly as he undressed in front of you.
in the moments that followed, everything was as perfect as it always was. the way your body meshed with marcello’s was something more than you could’ve ever dreamed. he treated you as if you were a goddess in his hands, and you treated him the same. you both made sure that every need was met, and every inch of your bodies was taken care of.
marcello’s hips began stuttering against you, telling you he was close to finishing. you were almost there yourself, so you began grinding against him.
cursing through gritted teeth, marcello’s pace sped up the closer he got. with one final thrust, the two of you groaned in unison, your names leaving each other's lips in harmony. he collapsed on top of you as silence filled the room. you laid there quietly as you caught your breath, marcello finally moving to lay next to you. you whined quietly as he pulled out, feeling empty.
marcello spent the rest of the night with you, eating dinner, and just hanging out. it had been a long time since the two of you hung out as friends, given your arrangement, but this was a nice change from the norm.
a few weeks passed before you and marcello saw each other again, as life got busy and had you both on opposite sides of the world. you’d been in LA meeting with some producers while working on your upcoming album, and marcello was back in new york, doing some promotional stuff for snl, and performing stand up shows.
you were back in your hotel, scrolling through your phone before heading to bed for the night. you were on instagram, and a post of marcello had come up on your explore feed. they were paparazzi pictures of him out at dinner with this week’s snl host, and his fellow cast members. there was another woman there that you didn’t recognize from the show sitting with her arm draped around him. a second photo in the carousel was of the two of them walking out of the restaurant with their arms linked.
you suddenly felt your heart racing and your face flush. you were jealous.
jealous as hell.
you put your phone down, and stepped out onto the balcony of your hotel room to get some fresh air. as you thought about it more, you started to realize that you’d probably had feelings for him for longer than you wanted to admit. you thought about him more and more every time you were apart, you were wishing that you had him around just to talk to when you had particularly rough days, and could picture yourself going out on dates with him.
“shit.” you groaned. you walked back into your room, flopping back down on the bed. you felt your phone vibrate next to you, marcello’s name flashing across the screen.
“when are you getting back to ny?” his text read.
“i should be back tomorrow afternoon.” you replied.
“do you think we could meet up when you get back? i miss you and wanna see you.”
“sure. i’ve missed you too.” you said to him.
the next afternoon, your flight ended up landing back in new york earlier than anticipated. you text marcello while you were on your way home, telling him to meet you there. he agreed, letting you know that he wanted to take you out for lunch. you freshened up once you got back home, heading downstairs when marcello text you telling you that he’d arrived.
you found him just outside your building, leaning against the passenger door.
“hey you.” you said with a smile, embracing him in a tight hug. he squeezed you tight, and you felt his lips press gently to the top of your head. he opened the car door for you, and you sat down in the passenger seat, taken aback by his courteousness. you knew he was gentleman, but this was more than how he ever acted with you.
you drove to the restaurant, chatter filling the drive as both your and marcello caught up on everything the two of you’d done during the week.
once you arrived at the restaurant, you were immediately taken to a table, and marcello continued to be chivalrous, holding doors for you, pulling your chair out from the table for you. it was weird, to say the least, but you liked it. a lot.
he began telling you about the host dinner he attended the other night, and you felt your mood shift. that was the same night from the paparazzi pictures you saw of him with that other woman. thinking about those pictures again made your jealousy resurge inside of you.
unfortunately, you were not discreet, and marcello immediately could tell something was up with you.
“are you okay? your face is flushed.” he asked, leaning closer to you. you took a deep breath before speaking.
“okay, i have to admit something to you. but you have to let me finish speaking entirely before you say anything.” you began.
“i’m listening.”
“i was on instagram the other night, and some paparazzi photos of you came up on my feed from one of those shitty gossip sites. it was pictures of you from that night of the dinner with whoever you were with, and she was leaning on you and you were walking arm in arm out of the restaurant. it filled me with this intense jealousy. and it seems like those feelings are coming back at your mention of that night.” you finished, staring down at your hands in your lap, avoiding continuing the conversation.
“y/n, look at me. please?” he asked. he reached down and took your hands in his. he rubbed his thumbs across the backs of your hands, a quick sense of relief and calm washing over you. “can i admit something to you?” he asked. and you nodded. “i’ve had that same feeling before.”
“what? when?”
“a couple weeks ago, the party we were both at. you came with a guy that your record label set you up with to make appearances, and the second i saw you guys together, i wanted to hit him. i didn’t like seeing you with him at all, and i wished so badly that i could’ve taken you home and spent the night with you. i want to be the one that you come home to every night, the one that you spend your weekends with, and the one that you get to show off at events.”
“you want to be my arm candy?” you teased.
“so badly.” he laughed. “i know we said at the beginning of this whole thing that this was gonna a “no strings attached” situation, but the strings are there. and now i don’t feel so bad about telling you all of this knowing that we’re on the same page.”
“but we had valid reservations about dating. those didn’t go away, and we’re busier now than we started this.” you sighed.
“we are. but i believe in us, and i believe that we can make it work. i want to be with you, fully and completely.”
“i want to be with you too.” you admitted. before you had a chance to say anything else, marcello was leaning into you, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. you smiled at him once he pulled away, squeezing his hands in yours.
the rest of your lunch was much easier to get through now that there were no lingering thoughts or feelings, and everything was laid out on the table. you both had real feelings for each other, and you were both going to try your hardest to make it work.

name dropping
summary: after you've been mentioned in a number of snl sketches, you finally come on to host and let marcello know your feelings about them. requested by anonymous. marcello x actress!reader
*c/n = “cast member name”
“y/n have you seen this?” a friend of yours asked, walking into your living room, and handing your their phone, a tiktok video on the screen.
“no? what is this?” you asked.
“just watch it.” they said.
you pressed play on the video, which was of a bit from the most recent episode of saturday night live, from the weekend update segment, and they were doing a bit about the upcoming award’s season.
“here to comment is the guy who tells you what the movies are, mario lopez.” colin jost announced. marcello hernández was then wheeled out onstage, dressed in a suit and tie for his portrayal of the famous tv host. he went into his jokes about the movies that came out this year, who he hoped received nominations, and who he was excited to see on red carpet.
“personally, i’m a huge fan of y/n l/n, and i hope she wins everything.” he said before smiling wide at the camera.
your jaw dropped at the mention of your name on the show. “oh my god!” you screamed as the video continued. “this is crazy!”
“you’ve finally made it big enough to being mentioned on snl!”
“a dream come true.” you laughed. you watched the rest of the video, on the brink of tears as you laughed at the rest of the jokes.
as the rest of the season went on, and you continued to be a name in movie news during award’s season buzz, you were continuously mentioned on snl. as more of the sketches were brought to your attention, you noticed that it was quite frequently marcello who was name dropping you. you didn’t really think much of it at first, just assuming that he was given stuff written by other people for the characters he was playing, but after a few more instances, it almost felt as though it was on purpose.
you’d just been announced as the host for their episode of prior to oscar sunday. you were excited to host, but you were also quite nervous. you’d done a few comedic roles, but the show being live was something that you were genuinely scared of. your first day in the studio was fun as the writers were pitching you their sketch ideas. you’d moved some of your things into your dressing room for the week. as you were walking out, you almost bumped into marcello, head down as he was reading something on his phone.
“shit, sorry.” he said awkwardly. “oh, hey y/n!” he said once he realized it was you.
“hi, marcello. it was nice to finally get to meet and work you. i’ve been seeing a lot of your sketches over these past few weeks, and i’ve enjoyed them a lot.” you said to him.
“thank you. that means a lot.” he said shyly. “i was nervous when you were announced as host that you were gonna be upset with the jokes that have been about you.” he admitted to you.
“no way. i thought they were all hilarious. admittedly, mainly because you were delivering the jokes.” you said with a smile. “i think you’re really funny and you’ve quickly become a favorite cast member of mine in the time you’ve been on the show.” you added, a faint blush rising to marcello’s cheeks.
“thank you. that means a lot, especially coming from someone as amazing as you.” he smiled.
the rest of the week flew by, and before you knew it, it was saturday night. throughout the week, you and marcello grew quite close, hitting it off well and becoming fast friends. he was shy around you at first, but as the week went on, he became very talkative and friendly with you, bordering on flirtatious.
you were sitting your host dressing room taking a break from rehearsals when one of the cast members came in to talk to you.
“hey, what’s up?” you asked as they sat down.
“what’s going on with you and marcello?” they asked.
“nothing? why? did he say something?”
“not directly, but i can tell something’s up. in the three seasons he’s been here, he’s never been as giddy around a host like he’s been with you.” they said to you.
“oh. well, nothing’s going on between us. i mean, he’s been very friendly towards me, but it hasn’t been anything more than that.” you said, shaking your head.
“for what it’s worth, and i’m not trying to imply anything, but if anything does happen, he’s a great guy. and you two would be really good together.” they added before walking out of your dressing room.
throughout the rest of the night, and leading into the show, marcello was acting even more flirty and friendly towards you. taking into account what you now knew about him, you began wondering if he had other intentions.
the show ended up being amazing, and you had a blast being there. after good nights, you went back to your dressing room to begin packing up your things to head out.
“you coming to the after party?” you heard a voice ask. you looked up to see marcello popping his head in the door.
“uh, no sorry.” you sighed. “i’ve got a busy day tomorrow, and gotta head back home pretty quickly.”
“oh, that’s too bad. i was hoping we could hang out some more, without the stress of having to put together a show.” he said stepping into the room. “can i at least walk you out?” he asked, and you nodded. he slung one of your bags over his shoulder and the two of you walked down the hall to the elevator to make your way downstairs and outside. as you walked downstairs, you and marcello quickly got to chatting, sharing your favorite parts of the week.
marcello stood with you on the sidewalk, keeping you company while you waited for your uber.
“hey, can i talk to you about something?” you asked him.
“what’s up?”
“c/n talked to me earlier, while we were taking a break from dress rehearsals, and they brought something up to me that was kind of interesting.” you began, marcello raising an eyebrow at you, signaling for you to continue. “they mentioned that they hadn’t seen you as excited to work with a host as you’ve been with me.”
“well, there is a lot of truth in that.” he began, taking a deep breath before continuing. “i may have let it slip that i have a bit of a crush on you.” he admitted.
“oh!” was all you were able to get out. that was definitely not what you were expecting him to say.
“that’s partly the reason why i’ve been so willing to talk about you in sketches. i was hoping it would sorta grab your attention.”
“which it has, so i guess your plan worked.” you laughed.
“i don’t mean to be too forward, and i hope this doesn’t make anything weird between us. but i do like you, and i feel like we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well over this week. i don’t know your situation, as far as if you’re in a relationship or not,”
“i’m not.” you interrupted with a smile.
“good. then maybe you and i can go out sometime. there are a lot of good date spots in the city, places that i’d love to take you to.
“i’d like that.” you nodded. a wide smile spread across marcello’s face, thoughts running through his head about how he could plan a perfect date night for you. you exchanged numbers, promising to text each other later that night, just before your uber finally arrived.
you set your bag in the backseat before taking your other one from marcello. you hugged him tight, , pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before climbing into the car. you waved from the window, marcello waving back as he watched you drive off. by the time you pulled up to your house and made your way inside, your phone was going off in your hand, a text from marcello popping up on the screen.
“not to sound like a broken record, but it really was so nice getting to meet and work with you this week.”
“same here. i was admittedly quite nervous about hosting, but being around you made it much easier. i can’t wait to see you again.” you replied.
“i’ve already got some ideas in mind for a date night. i hope i can continue to impress you.”
“well, you’ve been pretty good at that so far. i don’t doubt you’ll continue to do so.” you replied. you caught yourself smiling at your screen, accepting the fact that you already had strong feeling for marcello. but oh well. he did too, and you were happy that you were both already acting on them.

How do you get Marcello to like your stories? i want to know the secret...
genuinely wish i knew! 😭 each time it happens, it still catches me by surprise. it started out mainly when i would share his posts, and then every once in a while when i tag him in stories. but it has been very intermittent, especially since snl has been back.
it really is just by chance, and probably dependent on how active he is on ig.

do you really think marcello is a people's pleaser? I'm not really sure but i want to hear your thoughts
i don't want to say definitively that he is, bc i don't know him aside from a very surface level understanding of his personality with what he chooses to share of himself online, and how he portrays himself on snl and in his stand-up.
that being said, solely in my opinion, i do think that he's in a place where he's having to navigate a newfound star status, and may be more willing to do what people ask of him, as to not lose it all. not necessarily a people pleaser, but more so a case of him being too nice for his own good and not wanting to say no.
(i'm by no means trying to psychoanalyze his character or anything, so i hope this doesn't come off as that)
