How to write your book Step 234
Remember that little ditty you were writing once? That experimental poetry you were unleashing your emotions through?
Get it Published.
That's right. Nothing will light a fire underneath you like accomplishing goals! If you're anything like me the only reason you really want to write a book, is to get it published. Now I'm no expert on publishing, you'll have to do a google like I did. But I found a small company that helped me publish a book of poetry.
Evidence: Kraken by Anna (Span) Streatfeild
Once you have one Actually Published piece of writing, it will bolster your confidence. Invest in yourself. Even if you don't already have an audience, even if the only copies you sell are to your partner and your mum... at least you have a book published!
Look at you go you little Author!
You got this! Keep writing!

How to Write Your Book Step 233
So you've started 8 books now. You have unlimited creative potential and you are a good writer!
except.
Except you portfolio of writing is empty. There's nothing finished. No back log of things you've already written because you are a writer,/present tense you're still going! This is a marathon and you're still trudging through with great effort! You've got this!
except.
Except it's time to finish something off now. it's time to accumulate a body of work /past tense. it's time to give in and stop working on so many projects at once. Choose one. give it a deadline. FINISH HIM
except.
Except it's hard. and you're revisiting works from a long time ago and you don't want like it anymore, you don't write like that anymore, it's changed. You've changed. and that's a good thing. This is evidence for why you should finish things relatively promptly.
So now,
So now you have to decide do i kill my babies and close these books. Say they are finished as is. All not even a first draft, messy and incomplete?
or
or do i rewrite passionately changing every single scene sentence, word, and comma as i go!?
either way. Commit. Finnish something.
I believe in you.

How to Write Your Book Step 232
So you've stopped writing. You've been taking a sabbatical. Whether it be a day, a week, a month or even a year, or two, or five... well I am here for you! ( cause you've been here for me!) Seriously thankyou for sticking around.
It's a been a while. Your hands are creaky, arthritis is setting in and you haven't written anything towards your book in five years, or is that just me??
It's time. IT IS Time. Time to procrastinate just an hour or 10 mins longer so you can get a strong coffee, and a warm pair of gloves and sit down at your typewriter, laptop, ipad, actual physical book? Whatever it is that makes you bleed words out of your soul and into your book!
And then you put word after word for a while, reread it, rearrange it, add in a few more commas, take them out again, smile, shake your head and continue.
Goodluck! I believe in you! Keep Writing
We Got This!

missed ask from 4 years ago
ajudson9violet-deactivated20180 asked:
Hey, so I'm pretty new to your blog, but really loving it so far! I just had a question. I just finished my first rough draft of my book, and I'm now going over it trying to edit it. But reading over it, I realize how forced some of the things are. Like, I really enjoy dialogue, and it comes really natural to me, but I hate descriptions of emotions and thoughts and stuff, oftentimes I find it a little too "flowery" and "dramatic" for my taste. So, any tips on how to let that flow?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, four years ago and you're deactivated I am so sorry!
I wish i had seen this cause this is an excellent question!
so imma answer it anyways.
The great thing here is that your dialogue is good and comes naturally! So, use that same logic to write your descriptions and thoughts and world building and everything you write into your book, say it out loud. Pretend you are telling this story to someone, like a conversation… but one sided dialogue. So if you think you are saying something a little badly, then imagine that the person you are telling the story to stops and asks you a question, then you answer the question, but without acknowledging the question.
I hope this is making sense but basically all writing can be dialogue right? The whole plot is you telling your Dear Reader the story.
The rest of the book that's not dialogue is the Narrator telling the story… Is you! ……If not a defined character for the particular book, the narrator is your voice!
Was going to type hope this helps, but I'm a little late I guess… just a tad!

Missed ask!
kion700 asked:
Hi, hope you’re doing well. I’m writing a romantic story between two boys who are friends at first. One’s a smug bully and the other is kind of a grouch. I’ve been working on it but i could use some advice. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks.
Kion!! Hey! I am so sorry this slipped through the cracks.
I haven't been doing much writing recently at all, soooo i feel incredibly unqualified, doubly more than usual, to be giving any advice.. but here we goooo…
So you've probably already finished this, but I would work on developing the freindship as a genuine freindship and not a mutual silent pining for the other. I find the trope of unrequiteed love to be weak when it all boils down to the idea that they didn't want to "Ruin their freindship ". HOWEVER if you are stuck i would suggest to play the story out following the trop…, and then see how you can twist it to be more relatable or natural feeling. I don't know what your story is about but having a bully and grouch being freinds sounds natural to me.
I think they would bond over their nefarious deeds and then maybe later it develops into something more romantic… I don't think it's too much of a leap between romantic and aromantic relationships myself. But i guess I just want to see grumpy boys be happier together, and i would love some Demisexuality representation!
But you got this! I hope you have written something in the 10 months that i have neglected you, i am sorry! Remember anything you do write is better than anything you don't!
Thankyou so much for reaching out with a question! Maybe i'll be online more soon, I have been focusing on ASMR and ART these last few years but it is refreshing to be here,
also you should totally check out HeartStopper on Netflix if you haven't already!

How to Write Your Book Step 131
Giggle.  Write some  words.  Draw some pictures, if not for inclusion in the final book, at least to draw some inspiration.
That’s it. Once you have all the words you can put them in some sort of order. Then you can change that order a thousand times, still not be happy with it,  so add some more words in, then  take some others out.   Then put it all back like it was, possibly,  maybe, by this stage you won’t remember how it was when you started editing and will assume in nostalgia that what was past, was better, but it is not. keep editing. keep faith in your novel.
Editing is the bane and the make of good writing. But the most important thing is to write. Write and then edit and then write and then edit and then write.
Eventually you will finish both. Do not be discouraged. Find reason to giggle.
You got this.

Scented Candles
My fairy-tale adventure begins here,
Cloaked under the veil of magic.
A trance of cinnamon and apples,
The whispers of lavender, nutmeg
And vanilla; lulling me to sleep.
Their gazes burn. Wax dripping
On my skin, like kisses of temptation.
Peppermint, lemon and rose petals;
Warming me over with shy smiles.
-
I crave the bliss of lighting them aflame

SpilledInkTober Day 1. Space
The darkness calls to me Pulls my gaze and soul outward But Earthbound gravity holds me Clutches me I am something too precious to escape So I let the stars into my eyes Far off planets I will never see Trap my imagination in their orbits I feel the bits of stardust in me dance Shimmer between the cracks Tugged along by entropy I am a building singularity A budding supernova Twisting time to my will Unaware of my eventual collapse I blink And am terrestrial And breath as I orbit our star

Conversations coated in bliss;
A care-free, vanilla flavoured haze.
Stars looking on as we spoke,
In the glow of midnight and dawn.
Our innocence was short lived,
And the love we grew, wilted to ash;
Burns sizzling in the lonely hearts.

Angels eyes with the sunshine smile
Take me under your spell tonight.
My heart is melting like snowflakes
Under the warmth of your gaze,
Let’s dance the lonely hours away
Under the stars and blue moon;
Here we’re free from tomorrow
And the lurking shadows of our past.
There’s a rhythm to our madness
As we waltz under the willows
Holding on to now, our day-dream,
Where our worlds aren’t falling to ruin.

Are you okay?
No. I am not. There's a constant screaming at the back of my head. Pounding away as I try to gather the pieces of my heart. You're so gorgeous, and you hurt me so well. The stars are smiling tonight and I feel like flying.
Are you okay?
No. Why are you repeating the question? When have I ever been okay? I'm falling into the abyss of my own self destructiveness and there's a amber glow over me.
Holding on is hard. And I'm falling, head first into the storm, holding on to nothing but my hope.
