Now a serious thing, how and when you and your wife started to write together? Also, how was to start those horror fics?

um. i'm thinking back, lol.

When we started dating, I liked watching chem write, and she let me do that a lot, so it wasn't unfamiliar to me to witness the process. I actually watched a lot of Deimos get written, which was cool as hell and #wife privileges

we started writing together about a year ago, give or take a month or two (june). I was working on an au for my original series, and chem, who was reading it at the time, was really interested in the concept. I don't remember exactly who asked who, but we worked on that initially after I was 10-15 pages in. It was kind of weird at first, but after a couple hours we were able to settle.

Then we worked on a couple different fics for my original series. And like to be absolutely clear -- fucking amazing and i will treasure those memories forever. I really appreciated how much she dove head first into the universe with me and wanted to work with me, it was something really, really special, and her support meant everything to me. the time she invested in my silly little guys still baffles me you guys. I was so spoiled. i still can't believe she cared that much (but if you're reading this chem, thank you so so much sunshine <3)

We started working on dc stuff after october last year. Chem's senior year of college sucked ass, and she was really, really stressed and overworked constantly, barely sleeping, and generally miserable. When she had the weekend off for fall break, i suggested that instead of a date night I just watch her write again, because she was talking about how much she wanted to work on deimos all the time when she called me, so I wanted to kind of force her to do something fun and take care of herself, lol.

instead we ended up working on a whumptober prompt, and I, who had only base knowledge of the characters from listening to Chem talk about them at length for months and reading her fics, was kind of lost. I remember very distinctly looking up at some point during the fic and being like "okay, but like...why does Jason hate Bruce?" and chem being like "........wait you don't know jason thinks bruce doesn't care he died and jason died in bruce's arms?" and i was like "uh oh" , and she spent a while explaining the lore to me, lmao. Like her initial direction was just "jason hates bruce" and i was like "on it boss."

Anyways, so that spawned me diving head first into DC and becoming obsessed beyond repair.

I genuinely didn't know enough to have opinions before then, but I do now, so we can argue about characterization. Yay~! The Executioner was not supposed to be 200k, we thought it would be like. idk. 90? at the most? before chem met me, the longest fic she'd ever written was 50k I think, and mine was 170k (for httyd, which NONE of you are going to read) and now we're pumping out 200k fics like it's nothing and i hate myself

Writing together is something we both enjoy a lot, and before we wrote together, i would watch her write, and we only met because she was reading my fics. Writing is kind of a huge basis of our relationship, which is kind of wild, looking back.

start to the horror fics is mostly that we have a shared interest in horror and match each other's freak. I don't remember the initial push for the executioner, but we both started with an interest in horror, even if it's not always the same horror, and the Passenger 2023 kind of changed us both as people lmao. why are we the way we are? the Passenger.
