I am salah from Gaza. I have two children, Youssef, 12 years old, and Nour, 7 years old. Because of the fierce war, we lost everything we owned, I’m lost everything made... and my children lost every beautiful thing in his life. We were displaced to the south of the Gaza Strip several times. We endured a lot of meager and contaminated food and drink, and we were exposed to close-up death in all its forms... and we survived it miraculously. Children waiting under the hot Sun 🌞 to get water is a new tragedy added to the long list of suffering 😞 that children endure due to the war on Gaza.

They are forced to stand for long hours in queues that extend for miles, in the midst of intense and unforgiving heat, just to obtain an amount of water that may not be sufficient or even drinkable.

Note that the water that children wait for may be contaminated and not suitable for drinking, which exposes them to major health risks, such as intestinal diseases and poisoning.

🚨My children are between a beautiful past, a painful present, and an unknown future 🇵🇸🍉🙏

The lives of Youssef and Nour were full of innocence and simplicity before their lives were upended by the war on Gaza.

Youssef, the eldest, spent his days playing with his friends, enjoying running, football, and the pretend games that filled children’s hearts with joy.

As for Nour, the little girl, she dreamed of a rosy future. She loved playing with dolls, especially those that represented cartoon characters, and dreamed of owning a small house similar to the “Barbie house” that she had always heard in stories.

But the w ar came like a thunderbolt on their lives.

Our house was destroyed, and instead of playing in the garden, my children are running around to escape the bombing and explosions. Youssef and Nour were forced to live in a tent⛺, deprived of the simplest needs of life. They no longer have a home or school to go to, and obtaining food and water has become difficult, as they stand in long lines under the hot sun to get what they need.

Nour, who was dreaming of a beautiful house, now lives in a tent, and the toys that accompanied her have disappeared with the rubble of the house. She began drawing her ideal house in the sand, knowing that reality was different.

Youssef, full of energy and innocence, took on responsibilities that no child his age should have, helping his parents stand in lines for food and water.

I am salah from Gaza. I have two children, Youssef, 12 years old, and Nour, 7 years old. Because of the fierce war, we lost everything we owned, I’m lost everything made... and my children lost every beautiful thing in his life. We were displaced to the south of the Gaza Strip several times. We endured a lot of meager and contaminated food and drink, and we were exposed to close-up death in all its forms... and we survived it miraculously. I feel pain as I write to you...as I had to start this castle to save myself and my family from this humanitarian disaster... Save my family...
