Yk, one thing I'm grateful about is that I have friends that somehow tolerate my existence and don't make fun of me whenever I act cringe. Because while I talk down to myself all the time, and question whether the choices I'm making are too embarrassing or not, there's always at least one person in my WhatsApp contacts that I can show a hastily taken, blurry picture of my computer screen as I draw self indulgent yaoi, and they will applaud so loud I can hear it from a country away.

So anyways, I've been playing Cookie Run again lately, and decided to redraw my Almond Cookie OC x Canon art. Ramblings under the cut.

Back in 2022, I had a different tumblr. It's still up, with all my old posts archived for the world to see, including the Great Cookie Run Phase Of 22. Granted, I didn't make that much fanart, but somewhere out there you'll still find poorly composed KumiLily fanart that I couldn't be bothered to delete when I moved to this blog.

I had this OC, which I also didn't post about much, but I loved him dearly, hence why he is smooching Almond Cookie in the provided images. The first one is a redraw with the changes I've made to his design, leaning more into the whole half'n'half thing he's got going on. You see, he's based off of those plain butter cookies that are half dipped into chocolate, so I'm honestly shocked 2022 Meri didn't lean into the theme, like, at all. As much as I'd love to go into more detail and show more old art, I don't want to bore anybody too much with it so.. just lmk if you have any questions, but I'll likely make a separate post at some point or another.

With my redesign, I intended to address certain issues in the old version. Butter's vitiligo, in the second image, is on the wrong side, and so is his hair. I think I either flipped the canvas and left it like that, or I just figured it would be easier to draw him that way. Also, his vitiligo is kind of smudged and smoky, which I fixed too, as it doesn't really fit into the rest of my otherwise flat art style.

Regrettably, I've realised only hours ago that the colour palette may be kind of ass, and the white hair part is clearly stolen from Dark Cacao cookie. Sorry about that, I just really love him.

Either way, I am happy with the result, and glad I've revived my silly little yumeship like a necromancer. If I delete this, it means I've become self aware of my cringe once more.
